Tomboy Blues is an One-Shot Fic of The Loud House written by Metool Bard.

The fic can be found here on FanFiction.Net.

This fanfic contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Stella suffers from a lot of Tomboy Angst in this fic, whereas she never did in the show.
  • Call-Back: The fic references the events of "Fam Scam," with Rusty playing the wife in the sting operation, which has a major impact on the plot of this fic.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Stella had a lot of problems in her old school because of her tomboyishness; she couldn't relate to the other girls and wasn't accepted by the boys because she was a girl. She was alone and bullied as a result, and people questioned whether she was even a girl. This is part of the reason her family moved to Royal Woods.
  • In Touch with His Feminine Side: This is used word-for-word when Rusty talks about what his dad told him while helping to reassure Stella.
  • One of the Boys: Stella qualifies as this, and it is one of the causes of her Tomboy Angst.
  • Out-of-Character Alert: When Stella goes to Lynn, someone she barely knows, for advice instead of her friends, it makes Lynn instantly notice that something is not right with her. The boys have a similar reaction when Lynn tells them what happened.
  • Psychological Projection: Stella believes Lynn, who is also a tomboy, must have had similar experiences to her. When Lynn tells her that she hasn't, Stella tries to back away.
  • Tomboy Angst:
    • The main plot point of the fic. Stella had some bad experiences with ostracization due to her tomboyishness in her old school, to the point where people questioned if she was even a girl, and when Rusty did a better job at playing the role of the wife in the sting operation, it brought her insecurities back out. In the end, though, the boys and Lynn are able to help her realize that it doesn’t make her any less of a girl.
    • This is averted with Lynn who is quite proud of who she is which is what is able to help Stella accept herself more.
