- Addictive Magic: Harry becomes addicted to legilimency due that he's emotionally color blind.
- Broken Masquerade: Dumbledore is the one to tell Harry he's a wizard and he's very shocked at the way he was treated by his family.
- Fandom-Specific Plot: The existance of Head of Family's rings. Dumbledore gives the Potter family's ring to Harry during the latter's stay at the Leaky Cauldron. Also the existance of a Potter Manor is a subversion as it lays in ruins after Voldemort burned it to the ground during his quest to find Lily and James.
- Playing with Fire: Voldemort is the world's most powerful pyrokinetic. He uses this power to destroy Paris.
- Telepathy: The Mind Arts, which go beyond mere Legilimency.
