The Avenging Spider
is a Spider-Man/Avengers crossover by Sierra-021.
Two years after Age of Ultron, Spider-Man was asked by Stark to join the Avengers. Having always wanted to be like his idols, Peter Parker accepted...only to find most members of the team aren't comfortable with the idea of a teenager risking his life to be a hero. Even so, this doesn't stop Peter from continuing to fight for the little guys.
The story began on May 23, 2018 & was concluded on August 28, 2021 at 88 chapters.

- Adaptational Early Appearance: The Al Karen appears in Spider-Man Homecoming after Peter & Ned disables the Training Wheels Protocol on the Spider Man suit & is created by Tony. Here, she is created by Peter & Tony together.
- Carol Danvers makes an appearance in Chapter 35 whereas she appears at the post credit scenes of Captain Marvel.
- Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Peter develops relationships with quite a few characters he doesn't interact or meet at all in canon. The most notable ones are Wanda, Natasha, Thor, etc...
- Affectionate Nickname: Natasha calls Peter My Little Spider & later My Love. The words are stated in Russian but translated in the Author Notes.
- Age Lift: In canon, Peter was in his early to mid teens during the Infinity Saga. Here, he's legally an adult. The coming of age in America is 18...and in Sokovia apparently.
- Deadpan Snarker: Vision get in on this.Peter: You have no idea. Aunt May would've killed me for sure if I had actually burned the place down.
Vision: Smirks I highly doubt that your Aunt would've done so. More than likely, she'd set a strict but suitable disciplinary action as punishment. - Jump Scare: Vision's habit of phasing through walls all willy-nilly tends to get this reaction or as close to it it can get.
- Just a Kid: This is the main reason the majority of the Avengers don't approve of Peter being on the team. See You Are Not Ready below.
- Noodle Incident: Played for Laughs. According to Natasha, Clint got arrested at an airport during an undercover assignment they were on when his fake beard fell off while questioned by a security guard. It took SHIELD two weeks to get him out.
- Only the Chosen May Wield: Upon the instance of his friends & colleagues, Peter attempts to lift Mjolnir...and succeeds in doing so, making him the first human to do so. Although Steve could do that as well in Endgame and could have always have wielded it.
- Older Than They Look: Wanda may look she's in her late teens but she's actually in her early twenties.
- Puppy-Dog Eyes: Wanda pulls the puppy dog eyes on Peter, who immediately crumples like a house of cards.
- You Are Not Ready: A number of the Avengers think Peter shouldn't be risking his life to be a superhero at such a young age. They end up dropping this later on after the Lagos incident.
- Younger Than They Look: Peter is in his late teens but he looks younger than that.
