reworded page intro to something more neutral and descriptive

''Strategic Cyborg Evangelion'' is a RealRobotGenre crossover between ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion'' and ''VideoGame/HalfLife''. Its basic premise is simple: what if the Black Mesa Incident and the subsequent Combine invasion was Second Impact? And what if it happened two years ahead of SEELE's schedule, massively interfering with their plans? Humanity recovered from this calamity and even managed to carve out a small interstellar fiefdom... only for the Angels to start attacking Earth in 2041, 23 years after the Combine occupation force was defeated. And the G-Man is definitely up to something as well.

Good thing then that the Artificial Evolution Laboratory secretly and illegally developed Evangelions, even if they're only prototypes and the pilots are {{Ordinary High School Student}}s... [[AdaptationalBadass or are they]]?

* UniversalUniverseTime - Averted. Upon arriving from another system via FTL, the ''CSS Odessa'' is asked to synchronize their chronometers by local flight control. Also, Shephard specifically tells Asuka to set her clocks to a 24-hour day.
* VigilanteMan - Kaworu was expelled from his previous school because he helped a younger boy being bullied by the principal's son. As in, sent the bully to the hospital. And he almost did it again in the second chapter, until his would-be victims realized who they're dealing with and backed down.
* WakeUpCallBoss - [[spoiler:Zeruel makes an early appearance in the Israfel battle and pounds the Evas into the ground]], which prompts the AEL to realize how outmatched they really are against the Angels and start making arrangements to remedy that.

* AllPlanetsAreEarthLike - Averted. It's specifically mentioned that Earth is the only planet where humans can survive without EVA equipment. Three other Goldilocks planets have been colonized but only Earth has natural surface water. Case in point is Polygonus: while being a Goldilocks planet, it has higher surface gravity, an unbreathable nitrogen-helium-[=CO2=] atmosphere and no surface water. The former two is being corrected via {{terraform}}ing.
* AMFMCharacterization - Rei listens to metal, which fits her AdaptationalBadass in this fic.
* AnArmAndALeg - Unit-01 loses an arm and both legs in the first skirmish against Zeruel.
* ApocalypseHow - Planetary societal disruption as per the Half-Life verse. Had the Combine occupation lasted another decade, it would've devolved to societal collapse.
* ArtificialGravity - Averted. All space scenes have the characters free-floating in zero G.
* AttackDrone - Ramiel has these. [[spoiler:Tabris also confirms that the Ramiels themselves are drones.]]
* AxesAtSchool - Rei brings at least one knife to school, hidden in her boots.
* BangBangBANG - Averted. Kaworu gets a ruptured eardrum from standing too close to a ship-caliber coilgun going off, which also shatters every single window nearby.
* BeamSpam - Israfel and Sarafiel has two of these, one direct-aim and one that spreads out in a sweeping pattern.
* {{BFG}} - Unit-00's assault cannon, a [[ChainsawGripBFG hip-fired]] weapon whose barrel alone is ''22 meters'' long. Caliber-wise, it packs shells roughly equal in size of those used by the main guns of real-life ''Iowa-class battleships'', with a lower muzzle velocity to make the recoil manageable.

** [[spoiler:Zeruel and the white Eva]] then proceed to raise that bar ''even higher'', with the former outright doing
a human.FlashStep and the latter ''dodging HomingLasers'' and kicking off the former's CombatTentacles during their aerial duel. Even ''Rei'' is unsettled by the latter, stating that even the Evas couldn't possibly do that due to neural interface lag.
