- Summery: Death Note AU. Light isn't Kira plotline, along with additional supernatural creatures. Supposedly a crossover with Death Parade and Kolchak, but so far only been cameo appearances from certain characters. Some L/Light hinting.

Secrets And Lies contains examples of:
- Pretty Boy: Light is often referred to as such.
- CPR: Clean, Pretty, Reliable: Painfully inverted. CPR is performed on Sachiko. Ribs are broken. And she ends up dying regardless.
- Mike Nelson, Destroyer of Worlds: Madamn Trevi. She pulls one of the active Kiras from a parallel universe accidental. She decides to help him sell his soul to gain additional powers. This is done in exchange for him to use said powers to heal Madelaine. Essentially Trevi's actions set off the main conflict.
- Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil: Light is left pretty traumatized from Demegawa drugging and raping him.
- Slipping a Mickey: Demegawa slips one to Light.
- Urban Fantasy: The original Death Note was. This fic extends on the concept. The story is still set in modern Japan and as far as muggles are concerned everything is normal besides the Kira murders. Then there are the more mystical elements such as Light being a Kitsune, L a Vampire, Sayu a Neko, maybe, etc.

The Woobie: Light. He is raped, accused of murder, watches his mother die, and hears that his father had a heart-attack; this all happens within the timespan of a week. Matsuda also deserves a mention. His mother died in child-birth and he was abandon by the rest of his family, for the most part. This may be why he looks to Soichiro as a father-figure.
