— it's a crossover between DC Super Hero Girls (2019) and the 2018-TMNT series.
Mutants have begun popping up all over Metropolis—however, before the Super Hero Girls are able to get to the scene, the mutants have been stopped by a new hero group dubbed the "Shadow Warriors." The Shadow Warriors turn out to be none other than the Mad Dogs (Raphael, Donatello, Leonardo and Michelangelo)—the turtles have come to Metropolis to capture some Oozesquitos that have gotten into the city, which is what's causing all the mutants to pop up all over Metropolis.
After initially getting off on the wrong foot, the two hero groups ultimately become friends (maybe morenote ) and work together to stop crime in Metropolis along with getting rid of all the Oozesquitos.
This fanfic series contains examples of:
- Always Save the Girl: After Karen gets kidnapped by Man-Bat in #MutantsInMetropolis, Raph (who's clearly developed a crush on Bumblebee at this point) seems the most concerned for her (even compared to the rest of the Super Hero Girls) and seems the most determined to save her.
- Everyone Can See It: Mikey's got a big crush on Green Lantern (aka, Jessica Cruz), which quickly becomes obvious to at least his brothers.
- Freudian Slip: After Karen gets kidnapped by Man-Bat and the turtles and the Super Hero Girls are chasing after them in the Turtle Tank, Raph calls Karen "cute," which he denies when Leo questions him on it. After Raph stops Donnie from shooting his bowling ball launcher (since Karen could potentially get hurt by it), he almost calls Karen "cute" a second time before stopping himself.
- The Knights Who Say "Squee!": After stopping the mutant orca the first time and the turtles realize that Raph is missing one of his tonfa, Raph tells his brothers that the one he lost was taken by "some girls in costumes." Mikey realizes that they're the Super Hero Girls and proves to be big fan of them (particularly Green Lantern)—this in turn leads to:
- Ascended Fanboy: Mikey's the most excited about teaming up with the Super Hero Girls to gather up all the Oozesquitos in Metropolis (and stop other crime along the way).
- Love at First Sight: Downplayed—after rescuing Karen from Man-Bat the first time and getting a good look at her face (due to her helmet falling off), Raph finds that Karen's "a lot cuter up close" and is clearly smitten (to an extent).
- Rescue Romance: Karen and Raph clearly begin to develop feelings for each after saving each other from Man-Bat in #MutantsInMetropolis.
