Mentor Day is a crossover fanfic between The Amazing World of Gumball and Regular Show by PillarAngel on FanFiction.Net.

Gumball and Darwin, along with a few of their classmates, are participating in Mentor Day, a program where they visit a workplace to observe the employees and be mentored by them to write a report. The workplace in question is the park where Mordecai and Rigby work, who get stuck with Gumball and Darwin.

It can be read here.

This fic provides examples of the following tropes:

  • Big "WHAT?!": Gumball and Darwin let out one upon hearing that Nicole gave permission for them to participate in Mentor Day.
  • High-Five Left Hanging: Carrie refuses to high-five Hi-Five Ghost like her classmates in the beginning. When they're about to leave, he asks again and Carrie halfheartedly obliges.
  • Innocently Insensitive: While Benson is meeting Darwin, Darwin smells something in his breath. Benson starts explaining that he had sushi the night before...then realizes he's talking to a fish.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: Benson is unimpressed with Joe's puns.
  • Only Sane Woman: Penny is decidedly the most normal between herself and her classmates, as Benson describes her as the only normal one.
  • Springtime for Hitler: Mordecai and Rigby don't want to participate in Mentor Day, and Benson agrees that they shouldn't because of their laziness. However, when Mr. Small sees them taking out the trash as Benson instructed earlier, he suggests they look over Gumball and Darwin since employees ran out.
  • Pungeon Master: Banana Joe keeps making puns.
  • Verbal Backspace: Nicole begins explaining to Gumball and Darwin that grownup life isn't all play, citing herself and Richard as examples...before taking it back when she sees him passed out onto a bowl of cereal.
  • Who Names Their Kid "Dude"?: Benson is amused when Gumball tells him his name, and wonders who would name their kid like that.
  • We All Die Someday: Implied by Carrie when Benson asked her where she's from; the answer being "the other side", and he will visit it someday.
