Life (Not) at the Frankenstein Place
is a The Rocky Horror Picture Show fanfic by Cececat. The author later rewrote it as the (technically original) book If I Go It Will Be Double.
Life (Not) at the Frankenstein Place provides examples of:
- Costume Porn: Columbia spends quite a bit of time describing her (sometimes clownish) outfits.
- Early-Installment Weirdness: A lot of things that come up in the first few chapters get dropped pretty quickly.
- Gratuitous German: Both Dr. Scott and his nephew speak (absolutely terrible) German. The author probably used Google translate, judging by how incorrect the grammar is.
- Long-Lost Relative: Eddie's Dad turns out to be Herr Braune.
- Refuge in Audacity: Eddie's Dad's scheme to get closer to his kid (pretending to be a German scientist called Herr Braune, despite not having an accent or even understanding much German) probably counts, given how over-the-top it is.
- Road Trip Plot: The protagonists spend a large portion of the plot on a road trip.
- Scrapbook Story: Save for a few chapters written in the third person, the entire story is presented as Columbia's journal.
- Teen Pregnancy: Columbia's sister Agnes gave birth to a child named Oliver when she was just a teenager.
