Fanfic / Legacys End Quadrilogy

Go To

A fan story written by Hand Of Thrawn 45 that serves as a followup to Legacy Vol 1 and Vol 2, as well as to the writer's own stories. It also serves as a Grand Finale for Hand Of Thrawn 45's EU continuation, serving as a closure not just for the Legacy Era, but to the Expanded Universe as a whole.

Legacy's End contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Adaptational Karma: Maladi manages to get her comeuppance in this story.
  • And the Adventure Continues: Ends with Kira deciding to go on adventures.
  • Becoming the Mask: Saarai ends up genuinely believing in her husband's ideals, as well as loving him.
  • Big Bad: Darth Maladi is this for the first book. Hogrum Chalk is this for the final two books.
  • Brought Down to Normal: Every Force User outside the Skywalker clan and a few others are stripped of the ability to use the force all over the galaxy.
  • End of an Era: In both a meta sense (since this acts as a Grand Finale for the EU) but in story as well (since now EVERYONE can use the force, and the Skywalker line is gone)
  • Expy: Kyra and Eli Horn are both modeled after Rey and Kylo Ren from the sequels.
  • Grand Finale: For both the Legacy Era and the Expanded Universe as a whole.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Saarai ends up undergoing one after loosing her connection to the dark side. A part of her fears what will happen if the force is restored.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Cade, Marasiah, and the rest of the Skywalker clan end up giving their lives to ensure that the Force is not only restored, but given to every person in the galaxy.
  • Morton's Fork: The reason why Saarai doesn't actually shoot Marasiah. She's scared of becoming the old Darth Wyyrlok IV if the force is restored, yet the only way to stop it is shooting an unarmed woman in the back.....which is something the old Darth Wyyrlok IV would have done. Realizing she'd damn herself regardless, Saraai stands down and lets Marasiah complete the ritual.
  • Villainous Legacy: Maladi dies at the end of the first book, but her actions affect the rest of the series going forward. Hogrum Chalk's issues are also heavily motivated by his childhood, which was miserable largely due to the actions of Darth Saydel.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: Hogrum Chalk is a firm believer in autocracy, and also hates the Force as something that only brings pain.
