In General
- Accidental Heroism: Makoto often accidentally saves/helps a person in their time of need through a series of accidental and coincidental events.
- Adaptational Name Change: While Junko still publicly goes by Junko Enoshima, her real name is Ryouko Otonashi.
- Age Lift: Inverted. Everyone is younger than their canon counterparts.
- Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: Partially Subverted. Junko is not completly evil at this stage, but she still has problems comprehending Makoto's hopeful nature because of her despair philosophy.
- For Want Of A Nail: In-Universe. The first story gives an established sequence of incidents and events. But if a wrong option is chosen in the other stories, which explain each event, they will display an alternate bad ending.
