- Background Magic Field: Harry is drawing his power from an entirely different source of magic than everyone else allowing him to bypass most of The Laws of Magic. It is later revealed that with a lot of practice other people can learn this as well when Hermione eventually confronts Harry about his power and after some dialogue he agrees to make an attempt at teaching her this power.
- Misplaced Accent: When Harry is first introduced to the Wizarding World, he uses a fake Southern American accent along with a Secret Identity in order to go around and make his purchases.
- Shapeshifter Default Form: Later on in the fic, after Harry has met Norbert, he infuses his magic into Norbert which ends up allowing her to, among other things, take a human form. She stays in this form for a large portion of the remainder of the fic and in its sequels.
