Gabe's New Friend
is a Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends fanfic by OmegusXIII.
Gabe Daniels, like many young men, is searching for opportunity and a decent living. He never expected to find a home where good ideas are never forgotten.
But in his new workplace, he'll also find friendship, adventure, and even a little bit of love along the way.
This fanfic contains the following examples:
- Beleaguered Assistant: Frankie likes her job, but she admits she can't handle the stress of Foster's.
- Berserk Button: Mr. Herriman is offended when Gabe refers to him as a butler.
- Beware the Nice Ones: Gabe is a chill guy, but he isn't afraid to hit back against Bloo and his shenanigans.
- Cool Old Lady: Madame Foster, who can immediately peg Gabe as a guy who can work with imaginary friends. She even manages to confront a vicious dragon without any fear.
- Dark Is Not Evil: Scarlet the Dragon in the Extremeasaurs is actually a kind and docile creature that just wants to be adopted.
- Eldritch Location: Gabe takes this view of Foster's Home: aside from the numerous fantastical creatures, he is weirded out by its Victorian appearance and bizarre dimensions.
- The Everyman: Gabe, embodies how a normal person reacts to the ongoing oddities of a home for imaginary friends.
- Karma Houdini Warranty: Terrance's stunts and behavior eventually led Mac's mom to send him to juvie.
- Literalist Snarking:Herriman: What do you see in this position of a Foster's Home associate for the future?"Gabe Daniels: Um...you in my face?
- Male Gaze: Gabe gives Frankie one when he lays eyes on her for the first time.
- Must Have Caffeine: Both Frankie and Gabe need a lot of caffeine to handle the workload of Foster's Home.
- No Celebrities Were Harmed: Gabe Daniels is more or less based on the looks of Craig McCracken. Similarly to how Frankie was based off of Lauren Faust.
- Stepford Snarker: Gabe, who indulges in snark to offset any nervousness he feels in a situation.
