Danganronpa: Nonlinear World Order
(potentially to be renamed Danganronpa: Indefinite Suspension) is a Danganronpa Alternate Universe Fic by brain_problems.
It follows the 48 cast members of the three main series games after being sealed away inside the "New and Improved" Hope's Peak Academy in preparation for the apocalypse, with its central characters, tone and genre varying vastly from chapter to chapter.
The fic was first published on the 16th of August, 2020, and its most recent chapter ("Four Perspectives on Mikan Tsumiki") was posted on the 25th of November, 2020.
Danganronpa: Nonlinear World Order contains examples of:
- Adaptational Heroism:
- Tsumugi isn't the mastermind like in canon, even though she later receives messages and recalls memories of timelines where she was.
- Korekiyo's sister doesn't exist in this timeline, and so Korekiyo never becomes a femicidal serial killer. When a version of her from another timeline starts communicating with him and convincing him to re-enact the seance murder, he ultimately uses the seance to lure her out and kill her for good.
- "Groundhog Day" Loop: It's revealed in Chapter 13 that Ibuki has been through a few of these.
- Think Happy Thoughts: Faced with the apocalypse, Toko looks on the bright side: at least she'll never have to see awful film adaptations of her novels.
