Constellations
is a crossover story where Danny Fenton is the Squib brother of Draco Malfoy, sent away because of a curse on the Malfoy family line. Danny spends a summer at Malfoy Manor after they make contact again, and they make plans for Draco to stay the following summer in Amity. Unfortunately, this summer happens to be the one after Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, so Draco arrives at Amity early and with even more angst than usual.
- Conspiracy Theorist: Wes Weston, with the added wrinkle that he assumes Danny is deliberately trying to make him miserable. For example, he briefly assumes that Draco is merely a duplicate of Danny pretending to be his twin. And Sam and Tucker mention that, even outside of thinking that Danny's a ghost (not that he's wrong about that one), he's assumed that Sam's a vampire, Mr. Lancer's a werewolf, etc.
- Hates Being Touched: Draco has issues with being touched, apparently.
- Morality Pet: Danny serves as one for Draco, making him a bit less of a jerk compared to what he was like in canon, in part because he makes Draco think about things, especially the way he views and treats Muggles.
- Muggle Born of Mages: Danny is a Squib, apparently due to a curse on the Malfoy family name, and was thus given up for adoption by his bio parents.
- Oh, Crap!: Mrs. Johnson, the Amity Chemistry teacher, is rather horrified when Draco shows an interest in chemistry.
- Pop-Cultural Osmosis Failure: It's a bit of a Running Gag that Draco knows very little about Muggle media, though there are some particularly notable examples.
- Even though he's British, he has no idea who Shakespeare is.
- When he asks about the American Civil War in history class, Mrs. Hatch reacts with incredulity that he doesn't know what it is, before he tells her that he's British.
- Psychic Block Defense: When Danny feels Snape try to peer into his mind, he calls up the memory of a music video until Snape gives up.
- Rule of Three: In chapter 3 three people, Principal, Mr. Lancer, and Wes, have a shocked reaction to learning that Draco is Danny's twin, saying a variation on "there's more of you?".
- Running Gag:
- As mentioned above, in chapter 3 three people have a similar shocked reaction to learning that Draco is Danny's twin brother. Draco starts getting rather annoyed by it. More reactions like this occur in the next chapter, along with others.
- Draco not getting references to Muggle media, historical events, figures, etc.
- Stealth Insult: After getting a bad first impression from Snape, when Draco tells Danny that Snape is his godfather, Danny says "I'm sorry". As in, he's sorry for Draco.
- Tempting Fate: At the end of Chapter 4, Tucker makes a comment about how they haven't been interrupted by a ghost attack yet. The chapter ends with a scream implying that a ghost's attacking.
