Bakugan sequel fics
is a series of stories on Archive of Our Own. They focus on the continued adventures of Alice following the end of the canonical series.
There are currently two stories in the series.
Tropes across both fics include:
- Alternate Universe: Inada in The Rice Thief Conundrum ended up in one of these briefly.
- Disc-One Final Boss: The fake Masquerade in Evolutions is unceremoniously eradicated by the 6 Legendary Soldiers of Gundalia and Neathia, who become the final bosses for the rest of the chapter.
- Evil Counterpart:
- Lerna, the fake Masquerade is one to the real one, considering that he is genuinely evil, as opposed to being brainwashed.
- The Six Ancient Warriors of Gundalia and Neathia are a lot more narcissistic and aggressive than the ones from Vestroia.
- Hated by All: After Alice outs herself as Masquerade to expose the fake, everyone turns against her. No-one but the Brawlers (and Klaus) are aware of his Redemption Equals Death, so they still have a good reason to hate him.
- Heel–Face Turn: Alice brings the Gundalian/Neathia Legendary Soldiers over to her side through Defeat Equals Friendship.
- Identical Stranger: Lerna, the fake Masquerade to the real one, Inada to Fabia’s human form.
- Meaningful Name: Inada means “rice field”.
- Mythology Gag: The alternate world Inada ends up in sounds a lot similar to Bakugan: Battle Planet.
- Original Generation: Lerna and Inada, an artificial Vestal and human created by Mag Mel at the same time as Anubias and Sellon.
- Superior Successor: Myriad Hades lacks any of the original’s weaknesses.
- Token Good Teammate:
- Aksela, the Haos solider from Dharaknoid’s world, is the only member who isn’t narcissistic or fanatical.
- Inada is that for Mag Mel’s creations, due to him trying to kill her shortly after creation.
