The fanfic’s setting is based upon the show’s “12th Season” featured at the end of the episode “King of Kids” and “Baldalzerac” as a plot point.
In an Alternate Universe, there once was a peaceful nation called Lundgren. But one day, an even empire named the Dark Order has taken over the country and divided into three kingdoms. They will make sure to rule their new nation with an iron fist and kill those who get in their way. Now Sanjay and his adopted father Craig must go on a journey to defeat the Dark Order and restore Lundgren to what it once was.

Legends of Lundgren provides examples of:
- Action Girl: Satine is a knight who trained in battle with Craig as kids and Megan is a fiery Rebellious Princess.
- Battle Couple: Craig and Satine, obviously. And their even devoted to it.
- Big Bad: The Dark Order. Leslie (as Lord Noodman) and Tyson, fittingly enough along with a new character called “The Dark Master”, who is the leader of the Order.
- Darker and Edgier: Will have plenty of moments in this.
- Raised by Wolves: Or rather, “Raised By A Humanoid Snake Wizard” in Sanjay’s case.
- Royal Brat: Megan is portrayed as an indignant princess who serves as the Team Primadonna and Sanjay’s very own Tsundere.
- Top-Heavy Guy: Craig's true form, before Lord Noodman took his powers away.
- Swords and Sorcery: The setting of the fanfic is this.
