''DOOM: Repercussions of Evil'' is an infamous ''VideoGame/{{Doom}}'' fanfic and the best known work of Website/FanFictionDotNet user Creator/PeterChimaera. The story focuses on space marine John Stalvern as he fends off a demon attack on his base that he has been expecting for years.

Like ''MyImmortal'', the story is well known and has spawned numerous parodies and dramatic readings, including a [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0R0ZZF4O0K4 presentation]] using ''VideoGame/GarrysMod'', and [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66twsuCehaI dramatization]] (and [[LargeHam hammier]] [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1RJevflSmI remake]]) made with ''VideoGame/TheMovies''. There is also a song by [[https://soundcloud.com/tomexplodes tomexplodes]] and [[http://www.writing.com/main/madlibs/item_id/1711511-DOOM-Madlibs-of-Evil even a Madlib]]. The story was eventually {{unperson}}ed from Fanfiction.net, but was [[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8181390/1/Doom_Repercussions_of_Evil_Repost.html reposted.]] It can also be found [[http://www.peterchimaera.com/doom.html here.]]

!! This fanfic contains examples of:

* ActionHero: John Stalvern. He solves most of his problems by plasmaeing them.
* AndThenJohnWasAZombie: The TropeNamer
* CallingYourAttacks: The Cyberdemon says "I will shoot at him" before he fires the rocket missiles.
* CassandraTruth: Cernel [[YouMakeMeSic [sic]]] Joson doesn't listen to his warnings.
* CruelTwistEnding: John fought the demons and then was a zombie.
* DeathByTransceiver: Strangely inverted and parodied as John is somehow turned into a zombie by talking into his radio.
* DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment:
** Rocket missiles.
** "[...] and now it was too late. Far too late for now, anyway."
* {{Determinator}}: John Stalvern. He only thinks about stopping the demonic invasion, even as [[spoiler:he's being crushed to death]].
* DiabolusExMachina: The [[spoiler:ceiling falling]] during the fight with the cyberdemon.
* DownerEnding: [[spoiler:John is a zombie. Or, at least, he becomes one. We think.]]
* DramaticReading: A major target for them.
* DramaticThunder: "The lights above him blinked and sparked out of the air"
* EagerRookie: This is the motivation for why protagonist John Stalvern wanted to join the marines, despite his father dissuading him by saying he would be killed by demons.
* [[spoiler:[[FallingChandelierOfDoom Falling Ceiling Of Doom]]]]: The ceiling falls and makes everyone unable to kill.
* {{Flashback}}: John flashes back to a moment from his childhood when he watched spaceships with his father, who didn't approve of his desire to be on them, lest he 'BE KILL BY DEMONS'
* GainaxEnding: Why does the [[spoiler:ceiling collapse]]? Why does John [[spoiler:become a zombie]]? Who's talking on the radio at the end?
** For the first one, [[spoiler:ceilings tend to collapse when you start firing your palsma [sic] rifle in random directions.]]
** For that last one, it's probably "Cernel Joson" (most dramatizations use the same voice). However, it makes no sense like everything else in this story because he was telling John to '''fight the demons''' earlier. There's a good chance it's his own mind, as he comes to this realization.
** The ending could be taken a couple different ways. If we go by the source material, ''Doom'', we can guess [[spoiler:the demons killed John and possessed him]]. The ending also seems to imply that [[spoiler:John was always a zombie, and his attacks on the "demons" was him attacking humans]]. Which, insanely, actually adds some unexpected depth to the ''Doom'' games if this holds true for all of the zombies. In fact, it is possible this plot was stolen from a 90's Outer Limits episode which ended almost ''the exact same way''. Or the other way 'round, depending on which came first. No, seriously.
* TheHeroDies: John. Or at least he is then a zombie.
* {{Masquerade}}: John used to believe in demons when he was young, but then he stopped when he got oldered. However, demons are real in the story.
** BrokenMasquerade: John now knows there are demons.
* RougeAnglesOfSatin: It could be quite possible that palsma is unique to plasma.
* SpaceMarine: John, for fourteen years.
* StealthParody: One could possibly believe that a person with few English and writing skills could write something this bad. However, writing this bad for 7 years seems suspicious, and writing ''[[VideoGame/PennAndTellersSmokeAndMirrors Desert Bus]]'' fanfic seals the deal.
** Only WillingSuspensionOfDisbelief can keep one entertained while reading ''[[FanFic/PeterChimaeraBookOfHsitoricalFaFfiction Peter Chimaera book of hsitorical faFfiction]]''.
** The mastermind behind Peter Chimera "Heisanevilgenius" admitted that [[StylisticSuck he felt like creating fanfics that parody bad English]].
* TheKillerInMe: John is the demons. And then a zombie.
* ThereWasADoor: Parodied in the [[FanficRecs/DoomRepercussionsOfEvil animated adaptation]] where John blasts through a wall and then uses a door a few feet away.
* TrollFic: It came out later that the author intended for this and his other works to be parodies.
* {{Troperiffic}}: True, it doesn't contain a huge number of tropes, but look at it in a "trope density" sense. The story has 211 words. There are currently 26 tropes listed on this page (including this one). That's more than one trope every ten words. This trope page is currently longer than the work itself.
* TheVoice: Cernel Joson
* WhamLine: "No, John. [[spoiler:You are the demons.]]"
