The Chronicles of Firzen is an ongoing Touhou Project Fanfic written by Knell13. In the first chapter, a mysterious OC comes out of the mountainside with mysterious ice-oriented powers that he appears to have mastered, which he refers to as the Frozen Road.
Tropes found in Chronicles of Firzen
- Badass Longcoat: Firzen sports one of these, although currently the badass part is debatable.
- Berserk Button: Remilia seems to get pissed off by Firzen's very existence.
- Not anymore.
- Brainwashed and Crazy: Remilia, sort of. Her vampire instincts had taken control of her for a good portion of time and turned her into a briefly Ax Crazy vampire.
- Celibate Hero: Firzen shows signs of this in Chapter 4. May or may not be growing out of this.
- Defeat Means Friendship: Remilia becomes far more friendly after she's beaten by Firzen, who promptly lampshades it.
- Elemental Rock-Paper-Scissors: Subverted in Chapter 1. You think fire beats ice? Think again.
- Harmless Freezing: Averted, Firzen's freezing of Remilia seems very painful, shredding her skin. However, she still followed this trope by easily breaking out of it, making this a...
- Hopeless Boss Fight: Firzen vs. Remilia, Round 1.
- Idiot Hero: Firzen, oh so very much. Although this tends to change when he gets into a fight.
- In the Thanksgiving special, he forgets he can Fly.
- No Sense of Direction: Firzen in the Non-Canon Thanksgiving Special.
- No Fourth Wall: The entire ending of the Thanksgiving Special.
- Not Quite Flight:
- Firzen has a habit of using ice trails as transportation.
- Cirno seems to be taking to this method as well, except using air.
- Obfuscating Stupidity: Cirno claimed that she did this to avoid being an anomaly among Fairies.
- The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: Mokou says this is why she saved Firzen from Remilia.
- Slasher Smile: Remilia. Goes hand in hand with her Ax Crazy tendencies.
- Shout-Out: Naturally with the roads, it's a huge one to Air Gear.
- The Rival: Remilia and Firzen see eachother as this.
- Weaksauce Weakness: Being a vampire, Remilia does have many weaknesses, like running water, but Firzen doesn't take advantage of it since he didn't want to kill her.
