  • All The Way Back: Neither needs to do this, but both Celestia and Luna can draw strength from the love of others.
  • Blood and Revolution: The Bakurae feed on lust, and chaos-demon Aoshi feeds on violence.
  • Blood Sisters: The fact that most fae are this leaves Bella Swan disturbed when she's informed that she is fae but the Cullens can't immediately identify what species she is. While she wanted to be a vampire to stay with Edward, she rejects the idea that she might become a fae with an appetite where she might have to (for example) drive a man suicidally insane just to sustain herself, asking Edward to let her die if she can only feed by killing others.
  • Burning Black: Anti-fairies evoke fear, anger and panic through their bad luck magic. It's used primarily to stir up and siphon off negative feelings in their victims, which they use as energy to sustain themselves, much like how fairies live off of hope and joy and happiness, as Anti-Cosmo explains it to Timothy. In The Darkest of Secrets, the anti-fairies are ordered by Timothy to continue doing this past Friday the 13th in order to gather the energy needed to speed-heal Anti-Cosmo.
  • Cadance of Cloudsdale: Lady Prismia's spell in Lady Prismia and the Princess-Goddess. Based on Changeling magic, it manifests as a green ethereal snake that attaches to a victim's heart and drains all of their love, departing to their summoner and leaving the victim a spiteful mess. Cadance, due to being a Physical God Manifestation of Love, is immune to their effects.
  • The Cadanceverse: Tagasoro are fear-powered creatures from Philippine mythology, one of which features as a minor villain.
  • Calvin & Hobbes: The Series: Dr. Brainstorm's Fear Detector collects fear and uses it to power a fear-making machine. Later, a poltergeist girl is said to feed off fear as well.
  • The Changeling of the Guard: The mechanics of Changeling feeding habits are described in detail by Idol. He states that it's a common misconception that they only feed on love, as different emotions can serve as different kinds of nourishment.
  • A Closed Fist To An Open Palm: The Makai feeds on the five sins of Gendai Reiki: Hatred, Fear, Despair, Envy, and Gluttony. The more negativity they consume, the stronger they become. The closer they become to resurrecting Trilojig.
  • Deserted Distractions: Demons in the Shadow Realm feed off of emotions, including negative and positive ones, and can drain happiness and warmth from their victims.
  • For the Glory of Irk: The Starfish Aliens known as Parasites feed on emotional energy, usually focusing on the negative stuff. Q, the primary Parasite featured in the story, particularly loves screwing with people just to rile them up so that he can feed on them more easily.
  • A Game of Masques: Bakura is a gaki, a Japanese vampire, who feeds on pain; he's exploited by Yugi to eat Yami's despair.
  • Kill Them All: Samael, the god of Silent Hill, was born from the primordial fears of humanity and continues to feed on them today. Its "tests" are just ways to torment and horrify its followers and victims so they will provide him a feast.
  • Miraculous: Marinette's baby: Smoke Girl feeds on negative emotions, much of her actions done to satiate this. Since she was akumatized because of Chloe, she would keep her locked away in an underground lair to feed off of her in her off-time. Marinette's angst over her pregnancy made her a recurring target during their battles, and Adrien’s angst after Marinette breaking up with him after Gabriel essentially disowned his unborn grandchild in-front of them led to her capturing him.
  • Monstrous: Suel consumes fear to survive. As such, he encourages those he hunts to be afraid of him.
  • Fluttershy Is Free: Fluttershy is part-Changeling and thus able to sense and to tap the emotional energy of another's love. In A Robust Solution, she slips and says suspicious things along these lines to Rarity, but in neither case does Rarity at the time understand the clues. Also, in-story, she at one point taps Rarity's love for her, but the latter fails to notice.
  • Stars Above: Demons feed on a person's emotional core, referred to as their Heart.
  • Thawing Permafrost: The antagonist Kaze is an unidentified emotion eater, having left Ruby for dead and drained of her emotional energy in the third story arc. Chapter 37 reveals Kaze to be a Defacer.
  • Thousand Shinji: Shinji has Psychic Powers and he can feel other people's emotions. When he meets Asuka, he thinks her emotions are delicious and addictive.
"Oh Asuka, your jealous rage is to my palette like a sweet summer’s wine in comparison to the various emotionally repressed idiots I have been subjected to."
  • What You Wish For: The demon feeds on negative emotions. It says that its favourite is regret.
  • Wizard of the Kaleidoscope: Harry's Sharingan feeds off the Misery in the world both his own and others.
  • The World is Filled with Monsters: Dreamoras, formless parasites that infest ponies' minds and force them to relive memories of shame and weakness. They then feed on the resulting thoughts, memories, and experiences until their victims are nothing but mindless husks.
