* WesternAnimation/Invincible2021:
** While not an ''awful'' person, Cecil tends to get this treatment from the fandom pretty frequently. Fans generally praise the good/cool stuff he is responsible for while ignoring his more heinous actions of [[spoiler:sending hopelessly outmatched soldiers into Nolan's home, teaming up with the morally unethical Sinclair, and refusing to call off Hail Mary's attack even when it goes after the morally upstanding Mark]].
** Amazingly (or rather unsurprisingly in hindsight), [[spoiler:Omni-Man]] gets this. Sometimes given the BlueAndOrangeMorality justification, and sometimes done purely for his looks. The fact that he is a JerkassWoobie and TragicVillain doesn't hurt either.
** While absolutely not overall as a character, being a morally upstanding guy who means well - [[spoiler: Mark gets this for how the relationship with Amber ultimately went so South. Frequently called blameless and it even being said "Mark did nothing wrong". While his mistakes were understandable, he did still ''make'' several of them.]]
** Related to the above, Amber has many supporters who justify all of her actions, no matter how selfish and callous they can be. Her treatment of Mark in Episode 6 is a big example. [[KickTheDog Whether she knows the truth or not at this point, it's bad either way how she shames him for saying he went to get help during the cyborg attack]].

** Alastor, a [[PowerIsSexy powerful overlord]] known as "The Radio Demon" and a [[SharpDressedMan dapper former radio host from 1920s-1930s New Orleans]], was stated by series creator Vivienne Medrano to be a serial killer when he was alive, which is how he ended up in Hell. However, much like Bill Cipher from ''WesternAnimation/GravityFalls'', his attractiveness [[SelfFanservice often earns him the "Draco in Leather Pants" treatment by many fans]], with people creating original characters or reader self-inserts to ship him with. Alastor is also considered the [[LauncherOfAThousandShips "fandom bicycle" when it comes to shipping in general]], being shipped with ''every'' and ''any'' character imaginable, from Angel Dust, to Charlie, Vaggie, Rosie, and even Valentino. In {{fanfic}}s, {{fanart}}, and fan comics, numbering in the ''thousands'', Alastor is often depicted as a TallDarkAndHandsome, charming, mysterious [[PrettyBoy "pretty boy"]] or demon with [[HiddenDepths hidden depths]]; who, in spite of being a serial killer, turns out to be a romantic and attentive lover. There is some TruthInTelevision to this portrayal, as many real-life romantic partners of serial killers often had no idea that their spouse was a mass murderer.

Alastor is also considered the [[LauncherOfAThousandShips "fandom bicycle" when it comes to shipping in general]], being shipped with ''every'' unquestionably a manipulative, villainous and ''any'' character imaginable, from Angel Dust, to Charlie, Vaggie, Rosie, and even Valentino. In {{fanfic}}s, {{fanart}}, and fan comics, numbering malevolent force in the ''thousands'', Alastor show, [[ManipulativeBastard blatantly taking advantage of other characters' emotional vulnerabilities to get what he wants]] on top of obviously being a ruthless Overlord, cannibal and SerialKiller. Even his few moments of genuine wholesomeness are more PetTheDog than anything else. Despite all of this, his more unsavory actions are often dismissed or swept under the rug by his fans purely because he's LaughablyEvil and runs off of EvilIsCool as a character, with some even arguing that deep down he's a soul as tormented and desperate for redemption as any other Hotel occupant even though he's consistently portrayed as a CardCarryingVillain with absolutely zero desire to change his ways. [[spoiler:And while "The Show Must Go On" implies that he actually ''is'' starting to come to care for Charlie and the crew, his breakdown in "Finale" has him acknowledging it and resolving to double down on his evil endgame, because he doesn't want care ruining his fearsome reputation]].
** Vox
is often portrayed as the most sympathetic of the Vees due to his rivalry with Alastor. This ignores the fact that he's an abusive boss, brainwashes the masses, and has absolutely no problem with any of Valentino's vile acts. Some fans claim that he's just as much of a victim of Val as Angel Dust is, despite the fact they're shown to be perfectly happy together.
** Rosie is
depicted as a TallDarkAndHandsome, charming, mysterious [[PrettyBoy "pretty boy"]] or demon very lovely and maternal figure by the fandom for her giving Charlie helpful advice on how to forgive Vaggie, even though she is also a villainous KnowledgeBroker who at the very least helps Alastor get away with [[HiddenDepths hidden depths]]; who, some despicable stuff. Not to mention, she's still the leader of a town of cannibals. For some fans, they even say she's a better maternal figure to Charlie than Lilith, simply because she's ''been there'' for Charlie while the latter's been gone for seven years[[note]]However, Charlie is at least a few hundred years old and so (at present) Lilith's implied to have generally been present for her daughter much longer than not.[[/note]].
** There is plenty of fanart of Adam in a sympathetic light, dealing with a traumatic past or mental breakdowns due to the Biblical events he's been through as a human. This is
in spite of his extreme arrogance, misogyny, and bloodlust, which, even then, is interpreted by some fans as a result of the aforementioned events that got him banished from Eden. [[spoiler:His final moment, though preceded by the BlackComedy of Niffty stabbing him {{in the back}}, is portrayed as a legitimately moving scene where he gives a [[GoOutWithASmile wistful smile]] at a distraught Lute, further emboldening such views.]]
** The Exorcists are shown to be nothing more than sadistic bloodthirsty monsters who enjoy the yearly Exterminations and have no qualms of exiling one of them if they show mercy ([[spoiler: best exemplified when Lute mutilating Vaggie after the latter spared a Sinner child]]). And while the idea is widely accepted in the fandom, there're some fanworks who depict them as a dysfunctional yet loving family. Some of them are even given sympathetic backstories,
being a serial killer, turns out victims of abuse/murder/theft/rape, who want to be a romantic take revenge on the people who wronged them (who are presumably in Hell).
** Believe it or not, even ''Valentino'' gets this from some, especially fans of the Vox[=/=]Valentino pairing,
and attentive lover. There his relationship with Vox is laser-focused on in some TruthInTelevision SugarWiki/{{WAFF}}-y fan works about them. These therefore tend to this portrayal, as many real-life romantic partners of serial killers often had no idea completely ignore that their spouse was Vox and Val have a mass murderer.toxic, mostly physical relationship and that Valentino is a heinous abuser and rapist whom [[TheFriendNobodyLikes no one, not even the other Vees, likes that much]] because he's also a PsychopathicManchild.

Alastor is also considered the [[LauncherOfAThousandShips "fandom bicycle" when it comes to shipping in general]], being shipped with every and any character, from Angel Dust (Radio Dust), Charlie (Radio Belle/Charlastor), Lucifer (Radio Apple), Vox (Radio Static), and even Valentino (Valastor) and Emily (Angelic Smile). In many fanfictions, fan art pieces, and fan comics, Alastor is often depicted as a TallDarkAndHandsome, charming, mysterious [[PrettyBoy "pretty boy"]] or demon with [[HiddenDepths hidden depths]]; who, in spite of being a serial killer, turns out to be a romantic and attentive lover. There is some TruthInTelevision to this portrayal, as many real-life romantic partners of serial killers often had no idea that their spouse was a mass murderer.

** Bill Cipher, the BigBad of the entire series. He is a living embodiment of the Illuminati symbol and he has psychotic behavior but fans love him. He is often [[SelfFanservice drawn as a sexy man]] with one eye covered and [[ManOfWealthAndTaste dapper clothes]] who is sometimes shipped with Dipper or Mabel. Back in "Dreamscaperers," most of his villainous acts technically took place inside dreams, yet he still showed signs of his chaos-loving like when he telekinetically removed a deer's teeth to creep out Gideon. Fans ignored the warning signs and thought his mysteriousness at the time was hinting at some kind of morally-gray character, beginning to make all kinds of romantic interpretations of him. When the episode "Sock Opera" where he possesses Dipper's body debuted, fans started fawning over "Bipper" and outright calling him sexy even though he tried to kill Mabel. Even when the last quarter of the series makes it blatantly clear that his "strange plan" is [[spoiler:to ''destroy the world for fun'', which he partially succeeds at doing (he manages to cause an apocalypse in the town of Gravity Falls, but he's stopped from going further by a barrier),]] the habit of painting him as some sort of misunderstood good guy persisted to the end of the series and pairing him with the Pines remained some of the most popular ships in the entire fandom. Supplemental materials hint that there is indeed some [[HiddenDepths emotional depth]] to Bill's character, [[DefiedTrope but that ultimately he is still solely responsible for the atrocities he's committed]].

** Officer X. Being one of the most popular villains and having a rather [[StrawmanHasAPoint reasonable reason to want to go against the Penguins]]. Claims of him being a DesignatedVillain and UnintentionallySympathetic are common among fans, arguing he's simply a man who is doing his job while the Penguins are constantly screwing him for their own agenda and getting fired of his newest job. His fans often forget his blatant sadism at the time of hunting Max or the Penguins and his history of commiting property damage or using unjustified force against the animals he's suppose to control. Many fans also often forget, he was fired because of a vandalism spree out of frustration for not capturing the Penguins again, which is hardly a reasonable thing to do.

I already listed Dag on the animated films page. Plus, he doesn't appear in the series, that probably takes place in a different universe than the movie.

* ''WesternAnimation/BackAtTheBarnyard'': Dag could be justified by the fact that coyotes have to eat, but did he really have to antagonize that one farm in particular, kill Ben, make Otis feel small, and attack during the day when no one was expecting them?

He has a lot of fangirls that think he's a fun, lovable oaf, downplaying the fact that he's a sadistic, heartless monster who captures the characteristics found in the Devil Himself. Even Professor Utonium described him as a "supernatural manifestation of pure evil".
** Fuzzy Lumpkins is sympathized by fans for just wanting to be left alone in his cabin in the woods. This is ignoring the fact that he damages other peoples' property out of UnstoppableRage and overall is just as bad as other villains.

** The Rowdyruff Boys tend to be toned down and glamorized into being misunderstood little boys who secretly long to be loved and in relationships with the Powerpuff Girls, the only ones who can tame them.
