Wild Cards contains the following tropes:
- Ambiguous Gender: Shapeshifters are a species of creatures that are not strict on gender because of how they are created and how they have the ability to warp their apperance to their liking.
- * Beary Friendly: Butch Cassidy, to a point. He still has killer insticts and can be hotheaded at times. He is really only loving to his partners and friends.
- Gratuitous Disco Sequence: Most of the musical numbers are very ritzy/shiny in the vain of a disco sequence.
- Elective Mute: Ovan. The only other creature that has heard Ovan speak is Chiz.
- He grew up with a family of humans that physically abused him to the point of forcing himself to keep his mouth shut.
- He eventually starts to find his voice when he starts dating Rhomby.
- Floating Continent: The existances of the Sky Cities and The Heavenly Isles.
- Magicians Are Wizards: In this universe, it's kind of common ground.
- Shapeshifting: In this universe, shapeshifters are literal shapes. Get it....see what I did there....
- Uncanny Atmosphere: The existance of the Static Realm and to a lesser extent, the Mirror Dimension.

- Solar and Lunar: Connie and Lillie represent this motif very well, even though their shapes are more related to lunar aesthetics.
