Sonic And Gex: The Awesome Adventure is a Fan Fiction on FanFiction.Net. It follows the story of Sonic the Hedgehog, a free-spirited hedgehog that can run at the speed of sound, Gex, a wise-cracking gecko lizard with a penchant for television and the ability to control AuraMojo, Miles 'Tails' Prower, a young fox who has an I.Q. of 300 and idolizes Sonic, Jason Canine, an Original Character for Gex's canon who is an android scientist from Gex's present, which is our futurehuman scientist from Gex's present, which is our present that has the astounding ability to shapeshift, Knuckles the Echidna, the guardian of the Master Emerald, the last echidna on Angel Island, and a posesser of Super-Strength, Louis B. Gul, Jason's pet sharp-tounged, mentally unstable, flamethrower-wielding, jetpack-flying, cigar-smoking beagle, and Amy Rose, a young pink hedgehog with an infatuation with Sonic, whom she is also violently protective of. After a freak accident involving the antagonists of both universes, Dr. Ivo 'Eggman' Robotnik and REZ, and the mystical Chaos Emeralds, our heroes are transported to the First Universe (aka our world) where they must find the Chaos Emeralds, defeat the antagonists, and save the world!
Sonic and Gex: the Awesome Adventure contains examples of the following tropes
- All Love Is Unrequited: Louis has a crush on Amy, who in turn loves Sonic, who in turn is Oblivious to Love.
- Crossover: The Gex series crossed over with the Sonic series.
- Dead Fic: On FanFiction.Net anyway. The creator will soon find an animator to adapt the fic into flash.
- Leitmotif: According to Word of God, each character will have AT LEAST one in the upcoming Adobe Flash adaptation (the story itself has "Endless Possibility" and "I Can Go Supersonic", Sonic has "It Doesn't Matter" and "His World", Gex has "GEX!" and "Never Say Die"...)
