Tangent is a fanfic author whose earliest published works appeared on fanfiction
dot net in 2002, focusing on Ranma ½. After becoming a brony in 2013 and getting an account on FimfictionDotNet in 2014, he began publishing there as well. In January 2018, he began collaborating with Evilhumour and Anon e Mouse Jr. on their My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fic multiverse.

- Wild Pony in Equestria series:
- A Wild Pony in Equestria: Ranma Saotome wakes up deep in the Everfree Forest one day. The next day, he wakes up as a female pony. Later that same day, she encounters a cockatrice... and eventually, she winds up a lawn ornament in Fluttershy's front yard. Things snowball from there.
- My Little Sphinx - A Wild Pony in Equestria side story: Happosai isn't satisfied with sending just Ranma to the land of "The Everfree". He's decided to send Nabiki there to help bring him back with information on the place. Unfortunately, things don't work as planned, as she winds up turning into a sphinx with Ægyptian and Gátian traits. And, like Ranma, she no longer has her full memories.
- A Wild Pony
- Distorted Resonance: A middle-aged male brony appears in Ponyville, roughly two years before the Sonic Rainboom, and in the form of a young unicorn filly. Now known as Crystal Synergy, she is adopted by Rarity's parents, and must do the best she can both to figure out which version of Equestria she's in and to help navigate or circumvent some of the more worrying problems looming on the horizon. Needless to say, things don't go as planned.
- Driven Batty: In a universe similar to that of Distorted Resonance, a middle-aged male brony appears in Ponyville as a Bat Pony filly, and is adopted by a pair of original characters. When her actions inadvertently inspire Pinkie to leave town, she realizes she has ten years to push herself to fill the missing role of Laughter in time to deal with Nightmare Moon.
- Fireflight: Yet another story in which a brony appears in Equestria as a young filly, this time a pegasus who is rescued and taken in by Burning Sky and Dragonfly, a newlywed pegasi couple on leave from the Equestrian Air Guard for their honeymoon in Las Pegasus. Some time later, she finds herself attending the same Junior Speedsters Flight Camp as Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy... and winds up knocking out a time-traveling Starlight Glimmer, resulting in history's course changing forever.
- The Testing-verse:
- In 2014, Evilhumour wrote A Simple Test From the Bureaucracy of Equestria, in which Luna must take an academic proficiency test, and passing is required to maintain her position in the government. Then he started a sequel, Back to School For Lulu!, in which Luna is enrolled in Ponyville Elementary in order to retake over twelve years of schooling. In 2018, however...
- Teaching the Moon: A divergent sequel to A Simple Test From the Bureaucracy of Equestria, written by Tangent with Evilhumour's permission and encouragement, and with he and Anon e Mouse Jr. serving as beta-readers. When Twilight Sparkle is invited to Canterlot in the aftermath of Luna failing her test, she points out that by the terms of the law and how the Royal Sisters had actually undergone the equivalent of homeschooling, Luna is not required to undergo twelve years of institutionalized education, but one year under a private tutor. Celestia, loving the idea, promptly assigns the role to Twilight... meaning that Luna is moving to Ponyville as Twilight's new apprentice.
Tangent's Ranma One-Half fics consist of:
- Ai no senshi Wild Honey - in an approved expansion of an idea by metroanime, three doomed timelines merge and three heroes get a second chance, and Ranma Saotome gets a rather unusual blessing from Jusenkyo, rather than a curse.
- Boiled Nyanniichuan - Ranma finds an old recipe for a cure back at the Guide's house at the very beginning… but soon discovers it had been left dusty and forgotten for a reason.
- Complementing Opposites - Nabiki chooses to accept the engagement with Ranma when he arrives the first day.
- Magical Guardian Ranma - Having been found worthy of a higher purpose by the spirits of Jusenkyo, Ranma is now a Magical Guardian Beast destined to lead a team of Magical Girls.
- Magical Guardian Ranma: Beta Edition - revised version of the above, collected into longer chapters and with additional material.
