Roger Rees (5 May 1944- 10 July 2015) was a Welsh actor and director best known for The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby. He also appeared in the 1984 television movie version of A Christmas Carol (opposite George C. Scott), and he was a periodic guest star in Seasons 8 and 9 of Cheers.
Rees was openly gay and he was married to Rick Elice until his death.
He died in 2015 from complications of brain cancer.
