Kate Williams (born 12 December 1941) is an English actress best known for playing Joan Booth in Love Thy Neighbour, Audrey Withey in Widows, and Dorothy Burgess in May to December.
Early in her career, she appeared as two separate characters in On the Buses, while she was given Guest Star billing in the third film spin-off, Holiday on the Buses, where she played Joan, a Red Cross nurse in a Love Triangle with Blakey and Jack. The same year she appeared in the film version of Love Thy Neighbour, reprising her role of Joan from the show. While Gwendolyn Watts played Joan in the unaired pilot, Williams took over the role for the series once it was picked up.
After Love Thy Neighbour ended, Williams appeared in fewer comedies, notably playing Audrey Withey in both series of Widows. Despite the more drama-oriented appearances, she still popped up in comedy from time to time, such as a brief appearance in the fifth Only Fools and Horses Christmas Episode, "A Royal Flush", while at the end of The '80s, she appeared in May to December as Dorothy Burgess.
After appearing as Liz Turner in EastEnders in the mid-2000s, Williams was upgraded to a regular cast member in 2009, although the character was cut the following year. A few years later, she was cast as Aunty Vera in the Birds of a Feather Revival.
