Charles Everett McGill III (born October 21, 1945 in Miami Beach, Florida) is an American actor.
His breakout role was as the Handsome Heroic Caveman Naoh in Quest for Fire, but he's probably best known as a member of David Lynch’s Production Posse, having significant roles in Dune and The Straight Story, and being most recognizable as “Big Ed” Hurley in Twin Peaks. He reprised the latter role in 2017’s Twin Peaks: The Return, despite having been effectively retired from acting for close to two decades.
There is a nonzero chance that The Coen Brothers named George Clooney's lead character in O Brother, Where Art Thou? after this Everett McGill.
