Tropes associated with Sharman's roles:

  • Acting for Two: Sort of in The Originals. Sharman is the second actor to portray Kol, whose spirit ends up possessing a witch named Kaleb. However, we never actually get to see any of Kaleb's personality as the whole time he's onscreen he's Kol in Kaleb's body.
  • Fake American: He's played a few over the years, including Isaac in Teen Wolf and Troy in Fear the Walking Dead.
  • Fake Nationality: A Fake Italian as Lorenzo de' Medici.
  • Historical Beauty Upgrade: As Lorenzo in Medici. The real Lorenzo was said to be rather homely-looking with squashed facial features. Sharman is considered an attractive man and makes Lorenzo look quite the Pretty Boy. Lorenzo was also said to be short, while Sharman is over six feet tall.
  • What Could Have Been: In 2015 he had a role in the pilot for a medical drama titled LFE, but it wasn't picked up for a full series.
