Cüneyt Arkın (born Fahrettin Cüreklibatır, 7 September 1937 – 28 June 2022) was a Turkish actor, stuntman, and the most prolific actor of Turkish cinema, having been in over films of different genres including romance, action, sci-fi, and the like, ever since his debut in 1964's Love and Grudge. He was often credited internationally as George Arkın.
While the majority of his films are historical epics, he's perhaps best known by International audiences for his role in The Man Who Saves the World a.k.a Turkish Star Wars, a film that is considered a Cult Classic.
He had a hand in directing several of his films as well, ever since the late 70s.
Cüneyt Arkın was married twice, with a daughter and two sons. Both his sons and second wife occasionally showed up as The Cameo in his films.
Do NOT confuse him with the American director Alan Arkin.
