Alphanim is a French animation studio based in Vincennes (a suburb of Paris) and founded by Christian Davin (formerly an executive producer at France Animation) in 1997. In 2008, the studio was acquired by French film company Gaumont to get their foot back into television and Western Animation, having previously sold their TV division in 1999 and lost their animation division Gaumont Multimedia after it split off to become Xilam that same year. Consequently, Alphanim was renamed Gaumont Animation in 2013 (do NOT get them confused with Xilam's old identity).

Whether as Alphanim or Gaumont Animation, the studio has made many contributions to the world of European animation, having created such cartoons as Robotboy and Dude, That's My Ghost!. However, they have also been very involved in Canadian and American animation. With the former, they have co-produced many shows with famed Canadian studios like Cinar, Nelvana, and Mercury Filmworks on series like Atomic Puppet, Delta State, Mona the Vampire, Animal Crackers, the first season of Redwall, and the last season of Franklin. With the latter, they have done work on a few series made for Netflix, such as F is for Family and Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles.
