The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a horror comic series published by WildStorm and created by Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning and Wes Craig. The comics are part of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise and follow the continuity established in the 2003 remake.

The initial series, later titled "Americarnivore", served as a sequel to the 2003 film. Abnett and Lanning would also write two prequel comics; About a Boy (about Leatherface's childhood) and Hoyt, By Himself (about Sheriff Hoyt's stint during The Korean War).

Other comics published by Wildstorm were Cut! and Raising Cain.

The comics provide examples of:

  • A Day in the Limelight: Sheriff Hoyt's comic which is told from his perspective.
  • Absurdly Spacious Sewer: The Hewitts have migrated to an underground room in the sewers after the events of the film.
  • Backup Twin: Hank has been confirmed (via Word Of God) to be Sheriff Hoyt's twin brother.
  • Chainsaw Good: Leatherface, of course, wields a chainsaw. Agent Hooper also has a chainsaw duel with Hank.
  • Child by Rape: Henrietta and the Tea Lady both rape one of the FBI agents in an attempt to impregnate themselves.
  • Handicapped Badass: Leatherface, who lost an arm in the 2003 arm, is still plenty dangerous with a chainsaw.
  • Hook Hand: Leatherface has one.
  • Neck Snap: Luda May kills a girl this way.
  • Shout-Out: One of the FBI agents is called Hooper, after Tobe Hooper. Another is Henkle, perhaps after Kim Henkel. The news reporter's last name is Burns, after Marilyn Burns.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Jedidiah Hewitt, who was the Token Good Teammate in the 2003 film, joins his family in killing people in the comic. Similarly, Henrietta and the Tea Lady are far more depraved.
  • Town with a Dark Secret: The townspeople are fully aware of Leatherface and his family's murderous and cannibalistic tendencies, but don't do anything for fear of retribution.
  • Villainous Incest: In Raising Cain, the evil twin married his sister, and had a pair of twins of his own with her.
