"Kunskapens Korridorer" ("The Hallways of Knowledge") is a Swedish series of two comic books, written by Peter Ahlbom and illustrated by Jens Ahlbom.

It is about the everyday lives of a class of 8th-graders, their teachers and also other staff at their Middle School.

The class of 8C are: Madde, Jörgen, Vicky, Pirjo, Henrik ("Henke"), Mia, Lotta, "Hjärnan", Svenne, Bosse, Anders, Sussie, Micke, "Koma", Enver ("Kurre"), Anna and Tove.

The staff include: Pia Ek (Social Studies), Gustav Adolfsson (Social Studies), Allan Mattson (Mathematics), PH Berglund (Chemistry), Hans Kausus (German), Sture Johanssson (Biology), Elsa Lagerblad (Home Economics), Olle Barsk (Physical Education), Sonja Segerstedt (Physical Education), Jonny Flöjth (Music), Rita Norén (Art), Torsten Hammar (Woodwork), John Larsson (janitor), Inga Damberg (cleaning lady) and Bertil Book (princinpal).

Tropes:

  • All-Stereotype Cast: The class of 8C consists of all the various different personality types, which you might expect from any work about a school: the alpha bitch, the bully, a nerd, token minority, etc.
  • Alpha Bitch: Vicky seems to have rich parents, cares a lot about her looks and makes a huge real about playing the female lead in the school play. She is never particularly mean though, just catty and vain.
  • Amazon Chaser: Jörgen falls in love with the athletic tomboy Tove.
  • The Bully: Bosse has been known to use black-mail against his class-mates. But karma will bite him in the behind in a most satisfying way.
  • Cool Teacher: Pia Ek wants to become one of these. And despite a rough first day, she seems to become well-liked by her students afterwards.
  • Delinquent Hair:
    • Svenne has green spiky hair.
    • Bosse has bright red hair.
    • Mia sports a long "girlier" kind of mohawk.
  • Drill Sergeant Nasty: Olle Barsk is a downplayed example of the PE teacher version of this trope. He can be rather mean to his students, especially if they're not that good at PE. And he can also be a sexist jerk against the female teachers at times. But he can't really hurt anybody, and he will be the butt of many jokes.
  • Eyes Out of Sight: Koma sports a long hair, that will almost always cover up both of his eyes.
  • Friend to All Living Things:
    • One time, Madde and Sussie saved some frogs from being dissected in Biology class. Unfortunately, they ended up inside the princinpal's birthday present.
    • Madde also had to take care of the princinpal's wife's dog, who was left outside in the rain.
  • Groin Attack: Olle Barsk (the Gym teacher) gets hit by a ball in the groin during a Baseball game.
  • Hot Teacher:
    • Jörgen is very quick to comment on Pia's "nice legs".
    • Then there is also a quick appearance from a very hot substitute teacher, Pernilla Jern. Micke is hardly even able to concentrate on what he's supposed to do, when he's going to interview her for the school paper.
  • One of the Boys: Mia seems to rather hang out with boys than with other girls. And she also knows how to repair cars!
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Five of the students (Mia, Bosse, Micke, Svenne and Vicky) are known by just common Swedish nicknames. But we can be pretty sure what their real names are (Maria, Bo, Mikael, Sven and Victoria). However, we get no clue what Hjärnan's and Koma's real names are.
  • Prim and Proper Bun: Anna is one of the 8th-graders, so she's an unusually young example of this trope. But even so, she is the most uptight student in the class and she wears her hair up in a prim hairstyle.
  • Stereotypical Nerd: "Hjärnan" is clearly the smartest student in the class of 8C, to the point that his nick-name means "The Brain". And he also looks like a stereotypical nerd, with glasses and a more conservative dressing style.
