Status: Active

Species: Metahuman

Debut: Episode 54 ("Triptych")

Voiced by: Daniela Bobadilla

A Metahuman who can become a living mist. She was initially a mind-controlled slave used by Simon Stagg for corporate espionage and corporate warfare as part of the Branchwater meta-trafficking chain, but she was eventually freed. After spending time rehabilitating at the Metahuman Young Center in Taos, she would eventually join the Team as some point between Seasons 3 and 4.

  • Adaptational Heroism: The comic versions of Mist were straight up villains, with the female version actually raping Jack Knight. Here, she is only a reluctant villain and actually becomes a hero after rehabilitating.
  • Age Lift: Both the male and female versions of Mist from the comics were introduced as adults. Here she's a teen.
  • Apologetic Attacker: She seems to be the only one of the mind-controlled metahumans that's fully aware that she is being controlled, as she can't stop her hands from choking Nightwing, all the while apologizing for it.
  • Censor Steam: Or censor mist, can be seen once Nightwing freezes her mist form solid, this is due to the trope below.
  • Forced into Evil: Unlike Shade and Livewire, Mist is entirely unhappy with fighting Nightwing's team while under Branchwater's control, even apologizing to Nightwing as she is forced to strangle him.
  • Full-Frontal Assault: A split-second scene shows her clothes falling while becoming her living mist form. After she's frozen solid, Halo throws a blanket over Mist to cover up her exposed body.
  • Gaseous Form: Turns her body into 'living mist' while maintaining her shape. this is great for infiltration butt for combat applications she has the fine control necessary to turn parts of her solid, like her hands to choke Nightwing. The only way to impede her is to freeze her.
  • Gender Flip: Doubles as a Shout-Out and Composite Character. In the comics, Andy Murphy was an alias taken by the first Mist (real name Kyle), who was male. The second Mist was his daughter Nash.
  • Good Costume Switch: Trades out her darker orange costume for a pure white one when she becomes a member of the Team.
  • Harmless Freezing: Nightwing defeats her by using what is presumably something close to liquid nitrogen to freeze her. She seems completely fine afterward.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Joins a metahuman youth center after being freed from Hatter's control, and then has joined the Team by Season 4.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: She and Livewire are rarely seen outside of each others' company, even after they've joined different teams.
  • Intangible Girl: In mist form.
  • Lethal Joke Character: Nightwing underestimates her combat ability due to her power set and lets his guard down, allowing her to sucker punch him and begin choking him out.
  • Logical Weakness: Her mist form is, of course, vulnerable to anything that can affect actual mist; a freezing pellet, courtesy of Nightwing, leaves Mist frozen solid and completely incapacitated until she eventually thaws out.
  • Race Lift: The female Mist from the comics was white. Here she is Ambiguously Brown.

Species: Martian Bioship

Debut: Episode 74 ("Inhospitable")

Bioship's offspring who took her spot on the Team after she retired to spend the rest of her remaining lifespan on Mars. She can do pretty much everything Bioship can.

  • Genetic Memory: According to M'gann, Baby has been implanted with all of Bioship's memories. She remembers every single mission Bioship took part in and retains all of her battle experience.
  • Living Ship: Just like her mother, Baby is sentient and responds to the commands of whoever's driving her. Conner even comments when he flew her the first time that she was ticklish and sensitive to flight controls.
  • Shapeshifting: Like all Martian Bioships, Baby can transform from an egg-shaped "sleep mode" of sorts into a full-sized ship. Any and all exits from the craft are also made by simply shape-shifting a hole in the hull.
  • Someone to Remember Him By: Downplayed and Gender-Inverted. While Bioship isn't dead, she is nearing the end of her lifespan. So she decides to have Baby take her place on the Team so that she can spend the rest of her days on Mars.
