Casters

    Cú Chulainn (Caster) AKA Grimnir

Ireland's Prince of Light
Hood Down

"Ah geez, Caster again? Just my luck isn't it."

A hero from the Ulster Cycle of Celtic mythology, Ulster’s greatest warrior, and one of the Red Branch Knights. While he is best known for being the champion that wielded the demonic spear he received from Scathach, the Witch of Dún Scáith, she also trained him in Norse magics. Hence, he is said to have also been an adept of rune magic.

Cú Chulainn (Caster) is the sole Servant ally of Fuyuki and one of the first Servants to join Chaldea's side - still as a Caster, much to his dismay.

  • Blood Knight: He is Cu, after all, and is pretty disappointed that he didn't have Gaé Bolg with him in this incarnation.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: He appreciates women, much to Izuku's chagrin, especially with Mash.
  • Druid: As a Caster, he takes on the role of a druid, a Celtic mage specializing in nature magic. He explains in his interlude that due to him using Norse runes instead of Celtic magic, he isn't a proper druid, but his Noble Phantasm, Wicker Man, qualifies him as one.
  • '80s Hair: Unlike his Lancer incarnation, he doesn't keep his hair in a wolf's tail, which really shows off his impressive mullet in his second ascension onwards.
  • One-Steve Limit: When Prototype Cu appears, he nicknames himself Grimnir to help differentiate. It also foreshadows his nature as a Pseudo-Servant for Odin, a fact that wouldn't be revealed until Avalon Le Fae.
  • Playing with Fire: His go-to when using his runes is to unleash fire magic, and his Noble Phantasm (Wicker Man) summons a wood giant in fire to crush his enemies to ashes.

    Leonardo da Vinci

Renaissance (Wo)man

Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian polymath whose genius, perhaps more than that of any other figure, epitomized the Renaissance humanist ideal. While they historically lived in the body of a handsome man, da Vinci said that The Mona Lisa represents the ideal of beauty that they pursued throughout life. Thus after becoming a Servant, da Vinci "redesigned" their body into its current form; for true genius transcends common understandings of appearance, gender, and age.

Da Vinci was the third Servant successfully summoned by Chaldea during the development of the FATE Summoning System. After being convinced to stay and aid Chaldea by Romani Archaman, da Vinci circumvented the summoning time limit by creating a puppet body to inhabit and "contracting" with it as their "Master". Thereafter, da Vinci became a mainstay of Chaldea, providing technical, magical, and moral support during the Grand Order and beyond.

The ever-beautiful Da Vinci-chan utilizes her various talents to act as a versatile and effective attacker.

  • Ambiguous Gender Identity: She doesn't seem to care whether people use male or female pronouns to refer to her.
  • Art Imitates Art: Design-wise, her overall appearance bears a striking resemblance to the Mona Lisa. This was a deliberate choice on Da Vinci's part, who saw the Mona Lisa as his ideal of beauty and modeled his Servant body after her.
  • Only Sane Man: Surprisingly, during Guda Guda she's this, as most of the crew in Chaldea gets heavily affected by the Guda Guda particles.
  • Shipper on Deck: She supports Izuku and Mash becoming a couple. It also helps she treats the boy with lots of affection.

    Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

The God of Music

"Thank you! Thank you! I couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome!"

A musical prodigy whose abnormal sense of pitch let him leave a treasury of timeless compositions. Admired even in the world of magic, there are legends of him having involvement with a certain secret society. As a Heroic Spirit, he not only uses music magecraft derived from Orpheus, but also has deep connections with the magecraft of Solomon just like in legends.

He appears as an ally in the First Singularity: Hundred Years' War of the Evil Dragons Orleans.

  • Childhood Friend Romance: Averted. Amadeus and Marie Antoinette knew each other as children, but the latter was arranged to marry King Louis XVI. While Amadeus says he still loves her, he has since moved on. In Chaldea he does pursue her, having a rivalry with Sanson to gain her favor.
  • Childhood Marriage Promise: Averted. Amadeus proposed to Marie Antoinette when they were children, but it wasn't meant to be because of her station. Oh, and in case you were wondering—yes, that actually is historically accurate!
  • Musical Assassin: His Noble Phantasm is Requiem for Death, which inflicts status ailments on the enemies that hear it's sound.

Zhuge Liang (Lord El-Melloi II/Waver Velvet)

Legendary Tactician of the Three Kingdoms/Professor V

"Servant, Caster. I am Zhuge Liang, of the Shu-Han Kingdom. Looking forward to working with you."

Lord El-Melloi II (true name: Waver Velvet) is an eminent professor at the London Mage Association's Clock Tower. He succeeded the late Lord El-Melloi after he was killed during the Fourth Holy Grail War, and brought the Archibald House back from obscurity after losing their clan head. Otherwise not eminent enough to attain ascension to Servant, the extremely peculiar circumstances of this Holy Grail War allowed him to serve as the receptacle of Zhuge Liang, a Chinese statesman and tactician under whose strategies the small state of Shu managed to fend off the vastly superior Wei for a long time.

Strictly speaking, this Servant is neither El-Melloi II nor Zhuge Liang. The powers of both parties have mingled together, so abilities that cannot be found in the original Servant are being displayed. Also, their thoughts and emotions conform with those of the vessel, El-Melloi II.

He's an antagonist in Septem before being summoned to Chaldea and becoming a mentor to Izuku.

  • Alternate Self: From the perspective of Chaldea he is this. As revealed in the Accel Zero Order event, the events of Fate/Zero (and by extension Lord El-Melloi II Case Files) never happened in the Grand Order timeline. Since the El-Melloi II who players summon did go through those events, this means that from Chaldea's point of view he's from an alternate timeline.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While he makes it clear that he's furious at Dr. Roman for downplaying what the Clocktower will do to Izuku when they find out about his sudden magecraft abilities, he makes it clear to the boy in private he's just wanting to protect his new master.
  • Wham Line: He delivers one at his introduction that points to the difference in timelines.
Lord El-Melloi II: That's impossible. Lev Lainur has been dead for years.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: He's absolutely furious at Dr. Roman for the state of Chaldea, but even more so when he discovers how little Izuku knows of the danger waiting for him once the Clocktower is restored.
