• Cruel Mercy: Rikimaru defeats her in a showdown but refuses to finish her off, letting her live for a few minutes longer knowing that her dream will never come true. Kagami eventually dies from her wounds.
• Even Evil Has Loved Ones: She cares deeply for her companions and turns out she falls in love with Tatsumaru.
• Femme Fatale: She is the only female character who becomes the final boss in the series (in the Rikimaru campaign).
• Lady of War: She wages war against samurai clans and other nobles.
• Shut Up, Hannibal!: Receives one from Rikimaru after their showdown.
  Rikimaru: I'll happily suffer the title of Fool if it means I can save even one life from your blood-drenched dream. Farewell, Kagami.
• Together in Death: She hugs Tatsumaru's corpse as she lays dying.
• Visionary Villain: Her dream is to build "a world ruled by the ninja". In other words, her dream is to destroy the noble system in Japan so ninja can be freed from their obligation to serve the nobles and obtain the rights to live their own lives without hiding in darkness "like a thief".

Genbu

• Bald of Evil: Downplayed. The only reason Genbu is marked as "evil" is because he belongs to a different ninja clan and his loyalty to Kagami.
• Because You Were Nice to Me: His reason to pledge allegiance to Kagami.
  Genbu: Everybody says "Genbu, you big dumb oaf!" and everybody laughs. But Lady Kagami says "Genbu, you did good!" She treats me like how she treats all the other ninja.
• Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: He may act like The Ditz, but he has high health and he can clobber you around in a matter of seconds if you are not careful.
• Noble Demon: One of the most honorable enemies in the series, he even praises Ayame honestly before he dies.
• Shout-Out: He dies standing on his feet as he loses to Ayame, just like Musashibo Benkei.

• We Hardly Knew Ye: Tatsumaru kills Seiryu before the latter gets any plot relevance other than being one of ninja working under Kagami.
