Alinta as the Future State Flash

An aboriginal Australian teenage girl with superspeed, Alinta's one of the first students of the Teen Titans Academy. She's also a double amputee missing her legs below the knee, requiring her to wear prosthetics. Her codename is related to the fact she can only use bursts of Speed Force energy.

In a possible future, she is forced to become the Flash for Amanda Waller's "Justice Squad" on Earth-3.

  • Dark and Troubled Past: Her parents ran stolen goods and Alinta delivered messages for them, unaware her mom and dad were criminals. When Alinta's folks pissed off the wrong people, they took Alinta's legs.
  • Development Gag: Alinta's ethnicity as an Indigenous Australian is a reference to her initial concept in which she was meant to be the new Flash of the Justice Alliance of 5G where she would have been the daughter of the Australian Digger Harkness (also known as Captain Boomerang and father to the speedster Owen Mercer).
  • Demoted to Extra: After her run-in with the Suicide Squad during Teen Titans Academy, she barely appears or has any dialogue. She's not even present for the Red X's reveal.
  • Handicapped Badass: She's a speedster who uses prosthetic legs.
  • Legacy Character: Subverted. She shares a name with Blue Devil's archenemy Bolt (Larry Bolatinsky), but other than that she's got no connection to the man or his son Terry (Dreadbolt).
  • Not What I Signed Up For: Amanda Waller demands Alinta answer to her stating Alinta owes her for getting her out of Australia. Alinta argues she doesn't owe Waller again and refuses to be her puppet.
  • Only One Name: Her family name hasn't been revealed.
  • Token Good Teammate: Her future self on the Justice Squad shares this with Superman (Conner Kent), showing the most vocal concern for her admittedly insane teammates, refusing to abandon them, and calling out Amanda Waller for her murderous depravity.
  • White Sheep: She comes from a family of criminals and tried to turn her life around by becoming a superhero, much to the disdain of Amanda Waller.

    Brick Pettirosso

Brick Pettirosso

  • Luke, You Are My Father: He was made believe by the previous Red X that Dick Grayson was his father, but Nightwing immediately confirms he's not, since there would have been a DNA match when he was tested.
  • Meaningful Name: The last name he gave, Pettirosso, is Italian for robin, and he really thought he was Nightwing's son. His actual family name is unknown.
  • The Reveal: He's actually the current user of the Red X mantle. The Brat Pack and Stitch had already suspected it.
  • Unwitting Pawn: He was manipulated by the previous Red X to destroy Titans Tower and even made him believe Nightwing was his father, when it was in fact all BS.
  • Walking Spoiler: Issue 12 has a lot of important revelations about him.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Now that he has completed his role of destroying Titans Tower, killing and injuring several people, the other Red X stabs him in the chest and leaves him to die.
    Chupacabra

Diego Perez

  • Bat People: He received powers similar to those of Man-Bat, as such while he looks mostly human besides his skin and hair, he could turn into a more bat-like appearance, as seen during Future State.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: He might look like a vampire and dresses in black, but he's a hero.
  • Two Guys and a Girl: With Merissa and Lucas.

  • Eye Beams: He also has this power, which confuses him even further. They're capable of zig-zagging like Omega Beams, to everyone's surprise.
  • Flying Brick: He can fly and is super strong and pretty tough. This makes people believe he's a Kryptonian, despite denying he's Superboy.
    Megabat

Dane

  • Really 700 Years Old: He was born in the 19th century, and is therefore not a teenager despite looking like one. Turns out he's half-demon.
    Stitch

  • Aborted Arc: Stitch appears on the initial Dawn To DC advertisement posters as part of the succeeding generation for the Titans (Nightwing, Cyborg and Starfire) alongside Red Canary and Flatline. Despite this, her only appearances since the end of Teen Titans Academy is a cameo in Speed Force 2023 #3, not to mention that their role as Khalid's sidekick has seeminly been replaced by Salem The Witch Girl in Justice Society of America (2022).
  • The Apprentice: Having been created by Dr. Fate, Fate sees them as an apprentice. Stitch sees Fate as their father, but only says so once he's gone.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: The reveal of Brick being Red X hardly surprises them, and pointing out Brick calling Nightwing his father doesn't make sense is shared by many on the other side of the Fourth Wall.
  • Non-Human Non-Binary: They're a non-binary doll-like person.
  • What Is This Thing You Call "Love"?: Stitch mentions not having any friends to Dane and is bewildered when Dane says he's their friend. The resulting first person narration suggests that Stitch is simply unclear what friendship actually means.
Stitch: Friends? Dane's just a fellow student of magic the same age as me whom I enjoy talking to and hanging out with all the time. That can't be all a friend is... can it?
