* DreadfulMusician: Subverted in his first appearance. He's actually shown to be quite skilled at playing the bagpipes and the tune itself isn't unpleasant to listen to. The problem lies on the simple fact that it's [[EverythingsLouderWithBagpipes loud]] -- ''way'' too loud for Jack's taste. Played straight in a later episode when he (deliberately) plays a frenzied, ear-shattering tune to overpower the sirens' music, thus saving their enthralled victims. [[spoiler:Taken even further in the finale--as a spirit, his loud music can magically ward off Aku]].

* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: [[spoiler:In "Episode XCVI", he gives an epic one to '''[[DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu Aku]]''' of all people, calling him a coward for hiding in his lair in fear of Jack. What makes it so powerful is that it's a [[JerkassHasAPoint completely accurate description of Aku's personality in Season 5]]. Too bad it causes Aku to vaporise the Scotsman for his troubles.]]

* ComplainingAboutRescuesTheyDontLike: Might as well be the poster child for the trope. When her husband comes along with Jack to rescue her from the Celtic demons, all she does is nag, complain, and whine about every little thing they do. As a bonus, she does it so loudly, that any hope Jack and the Scotsman had of escaping via stealth is dashed, they are captured by the Celtic demon swarm, and had the lead Celtic demon not made the mistake of calling her [[BerserkButton "fat,"]] Jack and the Scotsman, who were being worn down by a massive ZergRush would have been killed, and she would have been "sacrificed." Though that's assuming she wouldn't have gotten involved if things got serious, since the episode is mostly PlayedForLaughs, and the Scotsman and Jack never end up worse than "slightly tired".

* {{Tsundere}}: An interesting Western version of this. While irritated, she's even ruder and louder than her husband. When angry, PRAY TO GOD she gives you a quick death. However in more pleasant circumstances, she's cheerful, kind and polite.

* ForceAndFinesse: The Force to Jack's Finesse. While both are MasterSwordsmen, Jack is the faster, more skilled, and cunning of the two, while the Scotsman is stronger, tougher, and better with modern weaponry.

* UnskilledButStrong: Compared to Jack, who relies on several sword techniques and fast reflexes to overcome his opponent, the Scotsman simply attacks head on with everything he's got, shrugging off any attacks that hit him. He's still very skilled, mind you, the fact that he can continuously parry Jack's sword strikes for days on end proves this, he just prefers to use brute force as his strategy when fighting.

* HairTriggerTemper: If you know what's good for you, do ''not'' make her angry. Hell, even the her own husband is afraid of just the thought of angering her, and her husband is ''The Scotsman'', who is usually willing to stand up to anyone.

* IWasQuiteALooker: She may be a full-on BrawnHilda when The Scotsman introduces her to Jack, but if her legion of [[AmazonianBeauty Amazonian Daughters]] is any indication, she was both massively strong and ''[[BoobsOfSteel absolutely stunning]]'' in her youth.

* {{Stripperiffic}}: Their choices of outfit are way more revealing than of their male allies, who are all fully-armored. This trope is lampshaded by their father, who chastise them for going into battle like that.

** In "Scotsman Saves Jack Part II", an amnesic Jack, the Scotsman, and a bunch of pirates sail the ocean, only to come within range of the song of sirens. Everyone on the ship becomes hypnotized, except the Scotsman. Why? The fact is that the song of the siren enchants men due to how beautiful it is to their ears. The Scotsman thinks their singing is horrible and considers what could his wife's annoying voice as beauty to his ears.

* ThePowerOfLove: Implied to be the reason he's unaffected by the Sirens' singing: his wife already gives him all the lovin' he needs.

* BrawnHilda: She's so obese and unattractive, that only a a man like her husband can call her beautiful. But her personality makes up for it (as long as she's in a good mood). Also she fights extremely well, surpassing even Jack and her husband, a trait that the Scotsman undoubtedly finds attractive.

* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Season 5 established that she birthed ''many'' offspring somewhere during the 50-year TimeSkip. But it's not confirmed if she had [[PosthumousCharacter died of old age]] by then, [[spoiler:or [[WidowWoman outlived her husband]] after Aku killed him]].

* NoNameGiven: In part because Jack never asked his name. (In fact, the writers didn't bother naming his wife or his clan as well.) Interestingly, he never refers to Jack by his name either, he refers to him as "my friend" or "laddie" (he does in "The Scotsman Saves Jack" though).

* NoNameGiven: Like her husband, her name is never brought up.

* {{Acrofatic}}: Despite being twice Jack's size(and MANY times his weight), he can easily match the samurai's speed. The two of them fought to a standstill... after three days.

* SuperStrength: Shows off his unimaginable physical power in his debut episode where right after being freed from being handcuffed to Jack, he pursues a couple of the bounty hunters by carrying a tank and throws it right onto them, and headbutts several mechanical crocodiles, making them explode. Aside from using his Celtic sword, he's shown to put the hurt on anyone absolutely larger than him with nothing but brute force in Episode XLV where he sends a massive viking flying with 2 blows. The greatest example is where he just simply brings down the Tango Beast, who's a {{Kaiju}}-sized monstrosity, with a swift punch to the jaw and goes out of his way to drag his enormous body afterwards to show him by asking if he's seen the amnesia-induced Jack.
