* {{Knighting}}: Following Chapter 8 of ''Alicornundrum,'' Ink Spot was formally knighted by Celestia as the Baron of Red Rock Island: an uninhabited island in the middle of an undisclosed river.[[note]]Celestia did it purposefully to shut up [[UpperClassTwit the Nobility]] from spreading more rumors about Twilight wanting to marry a "commoner" instead of Prince Blueblood.[[/note]]

* AdultFear: Their child goes missing late at night, forcing them to track her down in what can only be called hostile territory. One can't blame them for being so utterly ''terrified'' of Celestia.

* {{Expy}}: Is one for [[Franchise/{{Batman}}]] - his name and alter ego is a thinly-veiled reference to Bruce Wayne and Batman, respectively, and he's a wealthy HonestCorporateExecutive much like Batman is.

* {{Invisibility}}: [[spoiler:Crystal ponies appear sparkly because light bends around their coats in odd ways. By deliberately manipulating the effect, they can vanish altogether. Bright Eyes happens to be particularly good at it, but it leaves him unable to do much of anything without being noticed.]]

* TargetSpotter: When Spike was rendered blind during his fight against the Dragons, he still had the two-way crystal radio in his ear that was tied in to the receiver Bright Eyes was carrying, allowing for Spike to continue the fight.

** NotSoDifferent: Both groups met behind closed doors and planned around the events of the stories they were part of and the climax of their plans all came to fruition inside the throne room of one of the Royal Sisters' castles (Spell Nexus finishing the spell to resurrect Nightmare Moon in Canterlot, while Sundae Sprinkles sprung a trap meant to trap everypony in the throne room of Nightstone Castle while they went to dispel Nightmare Moon) [[spoiler: and both groups met their end and were ultimately spared by Nyx inside of Nightstone Castle.]]
** NotSoSimilar: Motives aside, while the Children of Nightmare had created plans in advance across the scope of months and years in preparation for resurrecting Nightmare Moon and helping to seize control over Equestria and prepare it to survive against a night eternal. The Alphabet Conspirators on the other hoof had very little in the way of planning and preparation for events to work in their favor, and that they'd never be able to launch anything big and grandiose, with Sundae Sprinkles being glad that there was only one concise objective in their entire conspiracy.

* BigEater: ''Very'' big, despite her small size.

Four of Princess Celestia's hoofmaidens who were reassigned to Twilight as a "starter set" for her own staff. They ''seem'' identical (white Earth ponies with blond manes/tails and sun cutie marks), but they all have a unique secret. [[spoiler: They all have chokers that hold a [[TransformationTrinket transformation charm]] so they all can look alike, because Sea Foam is a Sea Pony that Celestia hired away from King Triton. Cherry Blossom is a Unicorn, White Dove is a Pegasus, and Snowcap is an Earth pony.]]

* TransformationTrinket: [[spoiler:They all have chokers around their necks so they can keep up the ''illusion'' of being lookalike Earth ponies. (They actually look similar to the description in "real life" but for a few '''''changes'''''). The chokers also keep [[PrinceCharmless Prince Blueblood]] off of Sea Foam's flank, because of his seapony fetish]].

* TheRival: To Roller Reel in ''Alicornundrum'' [[spoiler:with both of them trying to one-up each other in getting the perfect vantage point in Photographing/Filming Twilight and Ink Spots' Wedding at the end of the story.]]

* ImprobableWeaponsUser: In ''Tirek Gets a Righteous Beatdown'', Ink Spot uses a novelty quill made from a Roc Feather as a BFS and [[EyeScream stabbed it into Tireks' eye]]

An unusually large stallion whose time under Sombra left him with very little education. Nevertheless, Shining Armor sees him as one of the few qualified army applicants, and he is accepted once he passes the Crystal Empire's equivalent of a GED exam. Shining Armor promotes him from Private to Lieutenant for his actions during the battle against the dragons.

* TookALevelInBadass: By his second appearance, oh yeah.

A publisher who [[LoveAtFirstSight quickly]] becomes Twilight's LoveInterest.

** Iormungand, or Jormugandr, is the ruler of the frozen north. He controls the North Star and guards Niflheim (a prison realm much like Tartarus). Doesn't show up in person, because he has to stay at his post and is too big to fit inside the palace. The serpent Svellnadr attends as his emissary, wearing a magic jewel that enables two-way communication.

A group of beings responsible for maintaining the various aspects of the world. Appropriately, all members are powerful immortals. Their numbers include the Princesses Celestia and Luna (Alicorns), King Triton (Hippocampus), High Emperor Eagle-Cobra (Royal Gryphon), Emperor Zheng He (Ki-rin), Iormungand (northern serpent), the Firebird (archetypical bird), Pelé (dragon), the Treant, a "creature that seemed like a cross between a squid and a party balloon", a "thing of snow crystals and frost" with glittering wings, and at least fourteen more.
