    Izuku Midoriya
The main protagonist. A formerly timid and shy boy who slowly develops into an extreme powerhouse.
  • Batter Up!: Izuku's fighting style is dependent on the metal bat he wields. He pretends that he has a quirk that lets him channel power through it.
  • Broken Pedestal: All Might becomes this to him after he meets the hero, who tells him to give up on his dreams. He notes to himself that he's finding himself moving out of All Might's fanbase.
  • Character Development: Izuku starts off the same as canon, but grows into a stronger person both physically and in character. He becomes less afraid of Bakugo and becomes much more confident overall. He also becomes noticeably gruffer, such as his propensity for swearing.
  • Charles Atlas Superpower: Izuku supposedly has no in born superpowers. His strength level after only months of training can embed a man in a wall and he can defeat the zero-pointer by smashing its wheels until the ground underneath it gives way.
  • Determinator: Izuku's can fight through serious injury.
  • Leeroy Jenkins: Izuku has a noticeable habit of disregarding his safety in a fight. He gets shot going back for a little girl in a villain attack, All Might decided against having him as a successor because of his lack of self-preservation, and his final attack against the zero-pointer was less trying to stop it and more taking his frustration out on the thing.
  • Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane:
    • His level of strength far surpasses Mirio Togata and comes solely from training. He is supposed to be quirkless, so either he has some undiscovered superpower or his ten months of self-training were enough to surpass the top student of UA in physical strength. Note that Mirio trained for three years to get to his strength level.
    • By the time of the first combat exercise, Izuku gains a Healing Factor.
    • The staff of UA tested and if it is a quirk, it's not one that Eraserhead can shut down.
  • World's Strongest Man: Downplayed. If Izuku really is quirkless, then he is without competition the strongest mundane human on the planet.
    Momo Yaoyorozu
  • Ascended Extra: She and Izuku haven't interacted too much in canon. Here, she has fought villains with Izuku and cheers him on in the entrance exam.
  • Innocently Insensitive: While patching Izuku up after he gets injured fighting the villians in the jewelry shop, she remarks on how his quirk helped him in the fight. While she honestly didn't mean anything bad by it, complimenting his quirk instead of him makes Izuku feel like she's just one more person determined not to see his worth.
    All Might
  • Adaptational Intelligence: Major factors in his decision to not have Izuku as his successor include his realization that Izuku's personality is unfit for heroics and that placing One For All on his shoulders would just cause Izuku more problems.
