Sacreed

    Sacreed in general
  • Corrupt Church: The first impression one is likely to get of Sacreed and its church is likely that of a Saintly Church, especially if one proceeds through the main story and sees the devout but very sweet Saeran. Unfortunately, people like Saeran tend to be rare. As seen in side stories and Season 2, a majority in the church are such fanatical believers that they'd write off crimes like brainwashing and whipping children like Sterope in her past as their proof of service to their god, look down on non-believers, or are heedless of the cost to their people as they continue to war against fiends; some are corrupt with greed like with the saint candidate in Saeran's story who deceived the young saint into being her cash cow. It's more worrying that the Archbishop is willing to put all her believers to sleep without consent and, later on, make other nations fall the same way, even if it's to let them be safe and happy from the fiends. And her right hand, Sterope, doesn't care about whether children get hurt or traumatized, or that any of her actions are evil as long as her Archbishop is happy.

Twelve Disciples

    Astei

Astei Arclight

Archbishop of the Church of Nepos and Disciple of the Fog, a woman with a fiery devotion to her god and prays to for the salvation of all who suffer pain. However, she lost her eyes and an arm to the Archdemon of the Dirge in the fiend war, in turn giving her an unsubtle determination to rid the world of the fiends' potential evil.

    Mene

Mene Satellight (and Finn the Shark)

Title: Little Insomniac Nun
Element: Water
Battle Type: Healer
Base Rarity: 3★
Height: 145 cm
Weight: 35 kg
Race: Human
Birthday: 11-20
Preferred Present Type: Natural Object
Affiliation: Church of Nepos
VA (Mene): (EN); Akane Fujita (JP); (KR)
VA (Finn): (EN); Eiji Takeuchi (JP); (KR)

Though the Disciple of the Stars stands out amongst the grown-up saints, this ever-so-sleepy little girl who carries a shark doll has the miracle of healing and a Quirk that controls dungeon guardian. As to why she talks to the shark doll she named Finn, it is because it has been possessed by a man's soul who has the (self-proclaimed) misfortune of being her minder.

    Notia

Notia Pearllight

The Disciple of the Earth and commander of the Order of Paladins. A recent addition to the Disciples, she grew up on a diet of the church's doctrines to espouse all the time, which often clashes with her moral boundaries to do good.
  • And Now You Must Marry Me: She thinks that men and women must get married if their skin comes into contact with each other, which is why when she get thrown by an attack during the battle against the Grand Calamari and K catches her, she gets paralyzed and considers having to marry K. She doesn't bring it up again, but it does become the start of her romantic feelings for K.
  • Bare Midriffs Are Feminine: A partial example. Rather than the entire waist, only her tummy is given a window just beneath her breasts and ending right below her bellybutton.
  • Blade Spam: She moves so fast that in her basic attack, after landing two quick slashes from the front, she suddenly appears from the enemy's back and strikes.
  • By-the-Book Cop: Very inflexible when it comes to rules; she believes that when a man and a woman's bare skin touch each other, they have to get married, so she threatened to cut down K if he held a female believer's hand... and when Notia saw K hold Saeran's hand later (Saeran actually did it first to thank him), she was going to do just that, but the Grand Calamari took everyone's attention. Thankfully, she can be reasoned with and knows when to let up on rules for the greater good.
  • Dance Battler: Her bladework is closer to sword dancing, being a blur of figure skating-style spins and acrobatic leaps in battle.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Although Season 2 initially starts with K and Saeran as a duo, Notia comes into the picture midway in Normal Mode and becomes a pivotal character, then fully becoming a deuteragonist for Hard Mode as the only one free of Astei's sleep-inducing miracle.
  • Forgotten First Meeting: She actually already heard Finn talk and even replied back to him in Mene's side story, yet only finds out Finn can talk in Season 2's Normal Mode. Given that she thought she was hallucinating hearing the shark while she was being healed, it's likely she dismissed him as a figment of her imagination back then.
  • Incorruptible Pure Pureness: Her faith in her god is rivalled by only Saeran, as demonstrated by however many times she holds fast to her teachings. It is for this reason that Astei does not involve her in the plan to create the Dollhouse, since Notia would never have been swayed from her faith.
  • Nice Girl: Finn says that this is her defining feature, being sincere in the kindness she offers others that the initially standoffish Mene let her guard down around her considerate helpfulness, and she saw the good side of Sterope even with how Knight Templar she gets, one only Astei knows.
  • Tsundere: Ever since she fell for K, her reflexive response towards him is to call him a blasphemer over a lot of things he does. Even when he's about to leave after his initial business in Sacreed is done, she says she's glad he's going, only for Saeran to reveal Notia is only acting cold out of sadness over K leaving. Then there's the time later when she's out on patrol and finds K unable to sleep:
K: Heh... Impressive. You managed to get all the way here from the island where the Order of Paladins is based.
Notia: Hmph! It's not like I came here to see you or anything, so don't misunderstand!
    K: I never said that...!
Notia: It was a coincidence that I ran into you while patrolling the area...
K: Why are you putting so much emphasis on this being a coincidence?

    Saeran

Saeran Bluelight

Title: Lightbringer
Element: Earth
Battle Type: Healer (Reliever)
Base Rarity: 3★
Height: 162 cm
Weight: 41 kg
Race: Human (Mirshian)
Birthday: 9-29
Preferred Present Type: Natural Object
Affiliation: Church of Nepos
VA: (EN); Shizuka Itō (JP); (KR)

The Disciple of the Sun and appointed Saint of Sacreed. She was an ordinary villager tainted by the fiendish white flower in her left eye, condemning her to the status of a heretic until her miraculous healing powers flowered. She then went on to heal numerous people during the war against the fiends and, in the present, is widely renowned for her selfless heart.

    Sterope

Sterope Refleclight

The Disciple of Lightning, a symbolic position as the Archbishop's divine hand. She has been by Astei's side from a child until the present, having sworn to support her that she interfaced with a shield augmented with Scientific Inheritance, causing no small amount of pain to her body—such pain is the least she has to prove her ardent loyalty.

    Mene's Father

Rion Satellight

Mene's fisherman father who hunts sharks for a living, although there is more to him than that. He went missing during one of Sacreed's small wars against the fiends. He was the previous Disciple of the Stars who retired to marry an Earthling woman.
  • Call a Smeerp a "Rabbit": A knight in Mene's side story reveals that aquatic monsters hunted by paladins were called "sharks". It is likely that Rion termed them as such to downplay what he does.
  • Dead All Along: In Mene's side story, when Notia hears about her father, she knew of one Rion Satellight who was said to have died as a paladin in the line of duty. This is not confirmed however.
  • Defector from Decadence: Given his warning to Mene to never show her miracle of healing to anyone and having been a Disciple, it's likely he knew just how corrupt and power-hungry the Church of Nepos is to be so fearful for Mene and fight as a normal paladin.

    Xardan

Xardan Oceanlight

An honorable pirate of Sacreed who fought in the fiend war and passed from the injuries incurred from it. He formed the Xardan Pirates to take in war orphans born from the war, deeming Adelie his daughter and the next pirate captain.
