Special Agent-in-Charge Michelle Mackey
- Badges and Dog Tags: Formerly with the Marines before her discharge and her recruitment into NCIS.
- Noodle Incident: Mackey was Court-martialed while she was with the Marines and found not guilty according to dialogue in "Going Fission".
- Resolved Noodle Incident: The aforementioned incident is eventually revealed in "Ghosted": While based in Khost in Afghanistan, Mackey, her loyal gunner and a corpsman who volunteered conducted an unsanctioned rescue mission for three Marines who had wandered off base one night and ended up in a village on the wrong side of the border. By doing so, the trio disobeyed a direct order by her superiors, who were ready and willing to write the men off. While they were able to successfully retrieve the AWOL men, they came under enemy fire on the way back and were hit, and due the weight of the fuel and the extra bodies, she could only bring their chopper down for a hard landing. Mackey and the rescuees survived, with the latter three being sent home to face disciplinary action, but the gunner and corpsman perished in the crash.
Sergeant Jim "JD" Dempsey
- Action Dad: He's a (divorced) father who works in the AFP.
- It's Personal: In "Blonde Ambition", JD's son is kidnapped by an Eastern European man who wants Ana Niemus in exchange.
- Number Two: JD's the second-in-command of the task force next to Mackey.
Special Agent DeShawn Jackson
- Badges and Dog Tags: Used to be in the US military via the Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAG Corp).

Support Personnel:
Bluebird "Blue" Gleeson
- Voice with an Internet Connection: Blue speaks to the task force from their Sydney office. She was assigned to them by the AFP on a temporary basis, at least initially.
Roy "Rosie" Penrose
- Affectionate Nickname “Rosie”, usually from JD.
- Expy: Rosie's serving to be the Australian version of Ducky in the task force.
- Fake American: In-Universe — fakes an American accent over the phone while posing as a USN admiral in "Going Fission".
