White Whistle of the Mirage. The Sovereign of Phantasm, the Unseen
Voiced by: Akari Kitou (Japanese), Matt Shipman/Katelyn Barr (English)

Sometime after Riko and Reg entered Layer 2, a new batch of students join Belchero Orphanage.

  • Ambiguous Gender: While the player can choose the voice, hairstyle, facial features and clothing, they cannot directly choose the gender.
  • Badass Normal: Puts most other raiders to shame, including Riko, once they get the opportunity to really get deep into their journey. Not only do they physically manage to survive repeated exposure to the Curse of the Abyss to keep returning to Orth, but they can become a White Whistle within a very short period of time, and outright fight Ozen to the point of exhausting her enough so she quits the fight. Contrast to the Hopeless Boss Fight Reg, a Relic and a powerful entity in his own right, was utterly stomped in.
  • Character Customization: When starting Deep in Abyss, the player can customize their name, voice type, facial features, hair style and color and clothing.
  • Hello, [Insert Name Here]: The player's name is customizable; Aki is the default name.
  • Poisoned Weapon: Can use the Red or Blue Poisoned Arrows to poison their targets with their bow attacks.
  • Red Baron: By the time the player descends down to the sixth layer, they are known as the Sovereign of Phantasms, [Player's Name] the Unseen.
  • Skill Scores and Perks: As the player rises in level and rank, they can choose which areas, such as those for exploring and in battles, to improve on.
  • Spanner in the Works: Detchuanga was on a long-term plan towards collecting a White Whistle through sacrificing Tiare— only for the player to pretty much waltz in, get Tiare's attention and end up fighting him to the death when he opts to block their path, with Tiare becoming the White Whistle as a result. Go back after the Final Boss and Detchuanga spells it all out how much his plans were ruined, attempts to bribe the player over acquiring Tiare, and then outright attacks them to steal the whistle when they don't play ball, where he too is promptly killed for his attempt.
  • The Straight and Arrow Path: Can use a bow as an alternate ranged weapon to a gun.
  • Trick Arrow: In addition to regular Arrow and Powerful Arrow, the player can craft Red Poison Arrow, Blue Poison Arrow, Paralysing Arrow and Explosive Arrow for additional effects.

    Tiare

Voiced by: Ayaka Suwa (Japanese), Chaney Moore (English)

One of the new batches of students in Belchero Orphanage. A quiet kid who tends to go unnoticed.

  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: Despite the long, luxurious eyelashes, the little bun in the back of the hair, and the extremely feminine voice, Tiare is indeed a boy.
  • Larynx Dissonance: In the Japanese Dub version. His illustration and design doesn't help. The English Dub version makes his voice sounds much boy-ish.
  • Final Boss: Is the last opponent the player has to fight before the game ends with the player descending down to the sixth layer.
  • Eye Poke: He gouges his eyes to remove his Relic called "Pwine Heart" after we defeat him. And yes, the game makes us see his bloody, eyeless face, facing us.
  • Secretly Dying: He's been terminally ill way before he entered the Belchero Orphanage. His parents sold him for 5000 orth to Detchuanga because they see him as an inconvenience. (For comparison, Detchuanga rewards you 10000 orth for helping him the first time). Detchuanga helped him survive using a Relic called "Pwine Heart".
  • Soul Jar: With his heart becoming a Life-Reverberating Stone, his soul is sealed in it.

    Dorothea

Voiced by:Akane Fujita (Japanese), Hilary Haag (English)

One of the new batches of students in Belchero Orphanage. She is competitive, but a bit of an airhead.

  • Heroine Worshipper: She really idolizes Riko and considers her as a Legend. She's even proud to be punished (strung upward naked, as the "traditional" punishment) because Riko used to be punished the same way, a lot!

    Raul

Voiced by: Natsumi Fujiwara (Japanese), Margaret McDonald (English)

One of the new batches of students in Belchero Orphanage. He tends of get into trouble speaking his mind.

  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Dies falling over a cliff on the first mission shortly after being introduced as a part of your group.

    Detchuanga
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/miabinary_05_detchuanga.png
Voiced by: Jun Fukushima (Japanese), Adam Gibbs (English)

A rich foreigner who frequents the abyss to collect relics.

  • Body Horror: His love of Relics makes him implant several relics to himself. And unlike Tiare who hides the implant inside his eye, you can see bloody mess all over his body in the optional battle because it seems he implants them by force. Just like that.
  • Every Man Has His Price: Asking you to help him and pay you handsomely? Check. Paying a Moon Whistle Delver to chaperone him to the lower layer of Abyss? Check. Buying a terminally ill boy so he can implant a super expensive relic on him so he can try to obtain a White Whistle and yield it to him later on? Check. Bribing you a ten billion orth so you would yield your White Whistle? Check, yet refused. So he decides to kill you then stuff you with the help of the most expensive taxidermist so you would be beautifully displayed with your White Whistle together with his Relic collections.
  • Optional Boss: If the player backtracks after obtaining their White Whistle, Detchuanga will end up fighting over it.
  • Our Zombies Are Different: After the player defeats him in battle, he seems to be revived shortly after. This is done by the effect of his Pwine Heart; however, his soul is still dead, so his body spends the rest of the days wandering aimlessly and will continue until his body rots away.
  • The Plan: He bought Tiare, who was terminally ill for 5000 orth from his parent. He implanted a Relic called "Pwine Heart" into him so he would survive. Then he sent Tiare to Balchero Orphanage to be a Cave Raider to finally obtain a White Whistle, and finally Tiare would yield the White Whistle to him.
