The wealthy son of the owner of the Seoul Gateway Hotel, and most likely would have gone on to manage and own the hotel himself someday had he not taken his own life.
- Character Death: Following Sun's rejection, Jae Lee kills himself.
- Driven to Suicide: After Jin beats him up and Sun leaves him, combined with a death threat from Mr Paik, Jae Lee opts out of his problems by jumping from his apartment building.
- Nice Guy: Although Jae Lee initially appears stoical and serious, as soon as their respective parents leave he breaks into a smile and puts Sun at ease by confessing that he finds the whole 'arranged' meeting just as outdated and awkward as she does.
- No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Is on the receiving end of one from Jin.
- Posthumous Character: He's dead by the time the series begins.
- Teacher/Student Romance: With Sun, whom he taught English.

Jin's father, and is a fisherman in his village.
- Good Parents: Probably the most shining example of a good parent in the entire series. He's humble, kind, forgiving, and raised Jin entirely on his own without even really knowing if he was the biological father.
- Mama's Baby, Papa's Maybe: He admits there's a possbility Jin's mother was lying about who Jin's biological father is but it's clear he still loves Jin no matter what.

One of Mr. Paik's henchman.
- Person with the Clothing: Only known as 'White Suit'.
- Professional Killer: For Paik.
- Psycho for Hire: And Mr Paik has hired him.

- Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Pretends to just be an average guy.
- Cunning Linguist: An Anglophone American who delivers a warning to Jin in Korean.
- Faux Affably Evil: Seems like a friendly tourist, for all of two seconds.
- Person with the Clothing: Only known as 'Hawaiian Shirt'.
