The wealthy son of the owner of the Seoul Gateway Hotel, and most likely would have gone on to manage and own the hotel himself someday had he not taken his own life.

  • Character Death: Following Sun's rejection, Jae Lee kills himself.
  • Driven to Suicide: After Jin beats him up and Sun leaves him, combined with a death threat from Mr Paik, Jae Lee opts out of his problems by jumping from his apartment building.
  • Nice Guy: Although Jae Lee initially appears stoical and serious, as soon as their respective parents leave he breaks into a smile and puts Sun at ease by confessing that he finds the whole 'arranged' meeting just as outdated and awkward as she does.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Is on the receiving end of one from Jin.
  • Posthumous Character: He's dead by the time the series begins.

  • Mama's Baby, Papa's Maybe: He admits there's a possbility Jin's mother was lying about who Jin's biological father is but it's clear he still loves Jin no matter what.
