Moza
"Have I told you about this dream I've been having?"
A young human woman living in the big city of Dursander. Moza is headstrong, bookish, and maybe a little tactless, but nevertheless a friend to all. Her increasingly vivid dreams and quest to interpret them lead her to the alien land of Paucady.
- Adorably Precocious Child: How 10-year-old Moza is introduced. She tells her new pet frog that they'll "get along swimmingly."
- Adorkable: Has shades of this. Moza tends to be overly excitable, and has a habit of making a fool out of herself in front of "older and wiser" people.
- Book Smart: Moza is introduced as an oddly-verbose child; she's "mellowed out" considerably as a young adult, but is still keen on reading and is generally knowledgeable about topics like philosophy and geography.
- But You Were There, and You, and You: Moza's dreams are in fact eerily accurate flashbacks of when she was around 10, the main difference being an alien symbol floating around. Her parents and grandma both feature prominently.
- Cheerful Child: Moza is introduced as one. Even later in life, she's generally very sunny and optimistic.
- Crashing Dreams: Moza's grandmother's departure, which she dreams about after seeing "the book," is paralleled with her own the next morning.
- Deadpan Snarker: With Venchi.
- Moza: Did 10-year-old you have that crusty bunch of hairs on their chin?Venchi: WOW.Moza: It looks lovely.
- Dream Intro: The very first chapter opens with Moza's dream, a flashback to her 10th birthday.
- The Hero: Moza is the comic's first protagonist, and is, for the most part, and all-around good egg.
- Intergenerational Friendship: With Pogoshi and Iani.
Venchi
"Goooooooooood morning!"
Moza's best friend and roommate. Venchi is a laidback person who works as a server at one of Dursander's fancier restaurants. They have a proclivity for really bad tea.
- Nice Guy: Venchi is remarkably chill, and their banter with Moza always seems to stem from a place of love.
- Running Gag: They're almost always shown drinking something foul.
