Cyrus
A boy who suddenly awoke in Helen's castle with no memory but his name. He is now her champion and fights with a mace. Cyrus easily befriends many ghosts and creatures throughout the story.
- Defeat Means Friendship: He makes a lot of friends this way.
- Guys Smash, Girls Shoot: He wields a mace, Sagittarius wields a bow.
- How Do I Shot Web?: He frequently realizes he has no idea how his powers work. Not the best thing, since Helene's plans tend to hinge on them.
Helene
Goddess and queen of Thantopolis. She takes care of Cyrus and offers ghosts the chance to not disappear into the Orinthope. She may be hiding something from Cyrus.
- Dark Secret: Whatever it is, it was enough to make Helene tremble with fear when she thought Cyrus found out.
- God's Hands Are Tied: Three ghosts have grown too strong for Helene to vanquish, thus she sends Cyrus to do the dirty work.
- Manipulative Bastard: Helene often manipulates people to get her way. It is implied she has included Cyrus in a greater plan besides using him as her Champion.
- Psychopomp: She rules over Thantopolis as the goddess of ghosts.
- Team Mom: She takes on a motherly role towards Cyrus.
Trickster
A ghost citizen of Thantopolis. He resembles a large bird with a pair of pink glasses he literally can't get rid of. Trickster is a definite hipster and appears to have greater power than he lets on.
- Master of Illusion: Alluding to his name, Trickster can create illusions. However, early on he states he has a limit to what he can do, which is soon proven false.
- Morphic Resonance: No matter what shape he takes, Trickster always appears purple with his pink glasses. This annoys Helene to no end.
- Voluntary Shapeshifting: Trickster is capable of changing into nearly whatever shape he wants. The most impressive display was becoming Cyrus. However, Trickster is limited to purple-colored forms and cannot get rid of his pink glasses.
Xisea
A spider ghost who lives in Helene's castle. She is very shy but kind. She had no friends before meeting Cyrus.
Sagittarius
The spirit of Sagittarius. She and her sisters were imprisoned for many years by Aquarius. Sagittarius has a kind disposition but is easily angered if Cyrus is endangered. She is the archer for Cyrus' group.
