!!Accursed

--> '''Hellbourne Strength'''

Many have speculated as to what great, damned warrior now lives in torment within the burning armor that marches alongside the Hellbourne army. The Accursed, as he is known, screams in agony as he brings fiery devastation to his foes, but his actions seem driven more by a desire to find oblivion than by malice.
----
* AchillesHeel:
** ''Flame Consumption'' can be penetrated with Legionnaire's ultimate so long as Accursed's HP meets the threshold for ''Decapitate'''s instant kill - or skipped by a single attack that gets him from over 400 HP to zero so long as he doesn't manually trigger it.
** If the enemy is paying attention, they can simply stop attacking Accursed while ''Flame Consumption'' is in effect, turning it into a minor invincible for 5 seconds ability, then blow him up when it stops. It also doesn't help that he remains fully vulnerable to disables, making it harder for him to escape.
* AnimatedArmor: Implied.
* BarrierWarrior: Accursed's second ability, ''Fire Shield'', prevents damage to himself or an ally for a short duration, or until it absorbs a certain amount of damage, at which point it bursts, sending that damage back at the attackers.
* BetterToDieThanBeKilled: Accursed can deny himself by using ''Cauterize'' while his health is below the spell's HP cost.
* {{BFS}}: [[IncendiaryExponent And you can set it on fire]].
* BlackSpeech[=/=]SpeakingSimlish
* CastFromHitPoints: His first ability, ''Cauterize'', can either heal allies or damage enemies, at the cost of a fraction of that amount to Accursed's HP. Furthermore, since it deals Pure damage to Accursed, it is possible to heal yourself with it while ''Flame Consumption'' is active, or add to ''Fire Shield'''s damage counter.
* DeathSeeker
* EmpathicHealer: Can heal allies at the cost of his own HP with ''Cauterize''.
* EnergyAbsorption: Accursed's ultimate, ''Flame Consumption'', turns any damage that Accursed takes during its duration into healing instead. If timed properly and used against the proper enemies, it can bring Accursed from near-death up to full health in a matter of seconds.
* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Abaddon, except with [[PlayingWithFire fire]] than [[EvilIsDeathlyCold evil ice]].
* TheFaceless: The only thing you can see past the helmet is fire. Lots of it.
* GameplayAndStorySegregation: Even though his background states that he's a DeathSeeker, two of his abilities make him that much harder to kill.
* ImplacableMan:
** ''Fire Shield'' gives him huge amounts of durability and let him easily absorb damage, meaning that he can tower dive or chase early on in the game while taking minimal damage. It also removes debuffs from the target upon casting, ''including'' stuns.
** ''Flame Consumption'' itself is also this. Upon triggering, it will remove all debuffs from Accursed, much like ''Fire Shield'', and disjoint most projectiles flying at him.
* MagicKnight: Though a support and reliant on his spells, Accursed is no slouch in direct combat either due to his relatively high base damage and ''Sear''.
* PlayingWithFire: All over the place.
** HealItWithFire[=/=]KillItWithFire: Cauterize, depending whether cast on ally or enemy.
** ElementalArmor: Flame Shield.
*** [[MadeOfExplodium Which explodes once enough damage is recieved]].
** FlamingSword: Sear.
** WreathedInFlames: Flame Consumption.
*** [[TechnicolorFire It's also blue]].
* TheRedMage: Accursed's abilities can all be used to harm his enemies or to aid his allies, often both at once.
* SpikesOfVillainy
* StatusBuffDispel: When cast, ''Fire Shield'' removes most negative buffs from the target, while ''Flame Consumption'' does the same for Accursed himself. Notably, this includes a number of debuffs that cannot otherwise be dispelled, such as most stuns.
* StoneWall: Despite being a support hero, Accursed can be a beast to take down thanks to his damage-absorbing shield and automatically-triggered invulnerability that also turns any damage he takes into health. Being able to live through practically any burst even from a blink initiation is something only Accursed can boast. However, ''Cauterize'' and ''Fire Shield'' do not deal much damage, and his steroids, ''Sear'', only gives a flat 40 bonus to attack speed, so Accursed has trouble dishing out damage to the degree a (semi-)carry can.

!!Aluna

--> '''Legion Intelligence'''

Beautiful and spirited, Aluna carries within her the essence of Earth itself -- the old Earth, long since lost to the decay of ages. Endowed with its might, and carrying the power of the moon in a mystical emerald, Aluna strikes at her daemonic foes with deadly speed. Thanks to her skill in battle, she has already become a celebrity among the heroes of Newerth.
----
* ChainLightning: ''Emerald Lightning'' hits the target and the 3 closest enemies to the target.
* EyepatchOfPower: Stardust Aluna covers her left eye with a scouter.
* MyNameIsInigoMontoya, PunctuatedForEmphasis: When attacking, she might introduce herself with "I! AM! ALUNA!"
* ReluctantWarrior: Spirit Warrior Aluna prefers to spend her time playing with the creatures of the forest, but is forced to fight when the Hellbourne scourge began sweeping across the land.

!!Amun-Ra

--> '''Hellbourne Strength'''

The corrupted disciples of Sol harnessed the errant energies of the sun, and from that culmination of twisted nether emerged the ancient daemon god Amun-Ra, abomination of all that is light and holy. Fused together by black fire and fury, this immortal construct threatens to raze the lands with every burning step, defiling everything he touches with heretical fervor.
----
* AutoRevive: [[IncendiaryExponent Pyroclasmic]] Rebirth.
* CastFromHitPoints
* MonochromaticEyes[=/=]ElementalEyeColors: Yellow with orange-to-red edges.
* PlayingWithFire
** SelfImmolation: Ignite.
*** [[MadeOfExplodium ...Then you explode, damaging nearby enemies]].
** KillItWithFire: And meteors.

!!Andromeda

--> '''Legion Agility'''

The star-born celestial known as Andromeda is a stranger to Newerth. With no memory of her home or her people, she is driven merely by an innate sense that the Hellbourne are vile and the mortal inhabitants of Newerth innocent. Her powerful dimensional magic allows her to bring destruction to the daemons or strength to her new-found allies.
----
* BarbieDollAnatomy: Mandromeda and Nebula don't seem to have a penis. Downplayed with normal Andromeda; her areolae and nipples are clearly there (if hard to see), but the resolution and her CelestialBody makes it hard to discern anything on her crotch.
* CelestialBody: ''Her whole body'' - save for the eyes - is a backdrop of space.
* DamageIncreasingDebuff: ''Aurora'' reduces the armour of its targets, making it a good skill to take Kongor early in the game.
* DefogOfWar: ''Aurora'' is often used to scout important areas like narrow paths or the Kongor pit.
* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Vengeful Spirit.
* FlamingHair: [[FauxFlame White-to-purple-to-blue]].
* FullFrontalAssault: Andromeda strides into battle stark naked, as do her alt avatars Mandromeda, Alien Andromeda and Nebula.
* GlowingEyes: Blue ones.
* GravityMaster: Aurora[[note]]"Andromeda shakes the magnetic field of Newerth, causing an aurora to erupt, damage, and reduce the armor of all enemies in front of her."[[/note]] and Comet[[note]]"Andromeda rips a comet from her dimension to hurl at an enemy, damaging and stunning them."[[/note]] definately qualify.
* GreenSkinnedSpaceBabe: Andromeda is an alien who takes the form of a shapely nude woman whose body is a backdrop of space.
* HeroicSacrifice: ''Void Rip'' can bring an enemy surrounded by his team to yours or bring a focused ally into safety. Of course, this sends you right into the middle of the enemy team.
* SpaceMaster: Void Rip makes you switch places with a target hero.

!!Apex

--> '''Hellbourne Strength'''
----
* HealThyself: ''The Burning Ember'' performs a channel that heals Apex over time.

!!Arachna

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

It is said that for every fear and phobia that afflicts Man and Beast alike, there is a daemon waiting to be born. Arachna -- chittering, skulking, crooked and wicked -- spawns from the fear of spiders. Protected by a chitinous exoskeleton as strong as cold iron, she stalks, and traps, and slaughters her enemies.
----
* CompositeCharacter: Spider-themed like VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Broodmother, but she combines the skills of both Drow Ranger and Viper.
* FanDisservice: Black Widow's human half is as scantily-clad as Queen Arachna and Arachnae, [[ButterFace but her face]] is much uglier (complete with a bald scalp and a spider's mandibles) and her body is bloated and purple.
* SeductiveSpider: Queen Arachna and Arachnae have the lower body of a giant spider and the upper body of a scantily-clad woman. Never mind the ButterFace.
* SpiderPeople: Most of Arachna's avatars possess both human and spider features in various combinations, except the fully arachnid Rift Arachna and the robotic Arachnabot.

!!Armadon

--> '''Legion Strength'''

A stolid and stalwart defender of the weak, whether Man or Beast, the long-lived Armadon refused to take part in the war between the Legion and the Horde, and instead maintained a neutral haven amidst the strife. With the arrival of the Hellbourne, however, Armadon's choice became clear, and he hefted his mighty mace in the service of good. The gruff warrior is now a key hero in the New Legion.
----
* AchillesHeel: Unlike other Strength-based carries, Armadon is particularly vulnerable to silences, since he needs to constantly cast spells in order to proc ''Restless'' and ramp up ''Spine Burst'' counters on nearby enemies.
* BadassBack: ''Armordillo'' lets him take less damage from behind while still being able to retaliate with ''Spine Burst'', both triggered by the passive and triggered manually. It's not uncommon to see Armadon farming stacked [[EliteMooks Ancients]] by walking up to them, turning his back, and spamming ''Spine Burst'' until everything is dead.
* TheBerserker: His playstyle revolves around charging straight into the enemy team, spamming ''Snot Storm'' and ''Spine Burst'' everywhere to rack up ''Restless'', and shrugging off everything the enemy throws at him with ''Armordillo''.
* CombatPragmatist: He uses his ''snot'' as a weapon, which certainly qualifies.
* CounterAttack: If taking damage from the rear, his passive ''Armordillo'' will automatically release a ''Spine Burst''.
* DeathOfAThousandCuts: ''Spine Burst'' is very weak, but has low cooldown and increases in power with each subsequent hit.
* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Bristleback.
* GlacierWaif: Despite being a tanky Strength hero, Armadon has the alt avatar Arma Donna, a little girl who cosplays as him.
* LightningBruiser: Armadon with maximum stacks of level 3 ''Restless'' active will have +35% movement speed and +210 attack damage, while ''Armordillo'' reduces all of his damage taken from the rear by 40%, making him virtually invulnerable unless taking damage from the front (which isn't helped by the fastest turn rate in the game, making the passive easily abusable by a good Armadon player). Good luck.
* MagicKnight: Armadon has the highest Intelligence growth amongst non-Intelligence heroes; he also has two cheap, spammable spells and an ultimate which synergises very well with them.
* NasalWeapon: ''Snot Storm'', which launches a ball of snot at a target.
* NaturalWeapon: His quills and snot.
* SpamAttack: Both ''Snot Storm'' and ''Spine Burst'' are very spammable with their very short cooldown and low mana cost, synergising well with ''Restless'', which increases Armadon's damage and movement speed every time he casts a spell.
* SpikeShooter: He is able to shoot the quills from his back.

!!Artesia

--> '''Hellbourne Intelligence'''

There was once a sorcerer and sorceress, kindreds spirits that would not be separated by mortal means, and so the fates would dictate that the immortal hand of death would grasp for one and leave the other be. Her lover gone, she remains lost in reverie, forever haunted yet blessed with his presence, yearning to reach into the very depths of hell to retrieve his soul.
----
* AntiVillain: All she wanted is just to reunite with her lover. However, her lines show no restriction in inflicting despair and chaos to [[TheUnfettered whoever crosses her path.]]
* HopeSpot: Much like Thunderbringer, she can induce this. Her ultimate, ''Essence Projection'', has global cast range. So if an enemy retreat in battle, she can just simply plant them on the retreat route, then kill them en route home.
* HotWitch: Artesia is a gorgeous blonde sorceress whose costume shows off her midriff and thighs.
* LadyOfBlackMagic: A haunted, vengeful sorceress who unleashes arcane bolts and energy projections against enemies.
* NavelWindow: Yuanri's dress is cut at the specific spot to show her belly button.
* PirateGirl: Artesia's Corsair avatar is dressed like a pirate.
* SpamAttack: Her abilities notoriously has low cooldowns, and Dance of Death can lower the cooldowns even further.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Her outfit exposes her upper chest, belly and legs.
* ToHellAndBack: Her lore depicts her as such.

!!Artillery

--> '''Legion Agility'''

He looked down at the gear that the Engineer had salvaged from the dig. It was amazing how much destructive power the Ancients could pack into something so small. He oiled the barrels of the gun, loaded the rockets in their launchers and strapped them down to his back. He lit his cigar and strode towards the battlefield. Let those demons have their electricians - they don't stand a chance against this new breed of soldiers raining death from above - Artillery!

!!Balphagore

--> '''Hellbourne Strength'''

Balphagore's gluttonous love of corpses draws him to wherever the Hellbourne's atrocities are at their worst. Armed with an array of dark powers, this daemon is not to be trifled with when hungry -- and Balphagore is always hungry.

!!Behemoth

--> '''Legion Strength'''

Earth-shakers and wall-breakers, Behemoths march across the battlefield wielding uprooted trees with deadly force. The sheer force of their attacks brings enemies to their knees, where powerful blows make short work of them. Of all the Beasts, none are so mighty as these noble creatures, nor any so willing to stand between the daemons and their friends.
----
* BarrierWarrior: ''Fissure'' can not only stun but also temporarily create an impassible crevasse. Knowing how to use it to trap enemies (as well as ''not'' trapping your own teammates) is vital to mastering Behemoth.
* BlackMage: Although he's a Strength hero and has good durability, his base auto-attacks are fairly weak and he relies heavily on his spells to support his team.
* ChargedAttack: ''Enrage'' gives him a massive damage boost for one attack, and with ''Heavyweight'' can damage and stun every enemy in a small radius. [[CriticalHit It's one of the few damage amplifiers that stack with critical hits.]]
* ConservationOfNinjutsu: Invoked on the enemy by ''Shockwave''. Against a lone hero it's pretty much an instant stun with hideously long cooldown; against a full team with creeps and summons thrown in, a TotalPartyKill.
* DifficultButAwesome: Behemoth's bread and butter skill, ''Fissure''. Bad Behemoth players are prone to use this skill to block teammates, isolating them from the team and netting the enemies an easy kill or leave enemy heroes on the wrong side of the crevasse, allowing them to escape with an easy walk. However, good ''Fissure'' usage can provide great utility, able to block a lane in a gank, stop chasing/escaping enemies, snipe enemy heroes with its extreme range, isolate them from their teammates or otherwise trap them in unpleasant positions.
* DynamicEntry: When he uses ''Enraged Leap'', Behemoth can jump to any spot inside a 900 [=AoE=] around him, giving him a built-in blink on a 8 second cooldown.
* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Earthshaker.
* GlassCannon: Despite being a Strength hero, Behemoth is relatively fragile due to his low armor, mediocre Strength and his item build which consists of no durability items whatsoever, instead focusing on supporting and positioning to maximise the disruption from ''Fissure'' and the massive damage potential from ''Shockwave''. Proper usage of his abilities can cause the most burst damage in a few moments any hero is capable of in the entire game.
* HerdHittingAttack: ''Shockwave'' deals bonus damage per every enemy unit within range without an upper limit, so hitting a lot of enemies is a requirement for it.
* InASingleBound: ''Enraged Leap'' allows him to pull off some truly impressive leaps.
* InvoluntaryGroupSplit: ''Fissure'' can block off enemies from their allies, leaving them at the mercy of your team. Of course, it's also easy to rush this and cause more harm than good - you can easily block off your team mates, save enemy heroes or condemn your own.
* ShockwaveStomp: With ''Heavyweight'', each of his abilities triggers an extra shockwave that stun enemies around him.
* SpamAttack: ''Enrage'' is a cheap spell used mostly to trigger ''Heavyweight'', since by itself, all it does is increase your attack damage for one attack, on a hero that is rarely built as a right-click attacker.
* YouShallNotPass: You can invoke this trope with his ''Fissure''.

!!Berzerker

--> '''Legion Strength'''

When news of the war in Newerth reached the Berzerker, he hastily left his frozen homeland in the North. Though he holds no allegiance to the Legion, the chance to face hell's demons is one the Berzerker could not pass up. An incredible warrior with an indomitable will, the Berzerker's reckless disregard for his own life gives him strength and power seemingly beyond measure, albeit at a risk. Once he has steeled himself, only death will stop him from killing his foes.

!!Blacksmith

--> '''Legion Intelligence'''

The smoke-blackened foundries of the Iron City have long been known to produce the endless stream of weapons and armor that make the Legion's war against the Hellbourne possible. But now, as manpower becomes harder to replace than supplies, the very Blacksmiths themselves have joined the battlefield, bringing strength earned through decades of toil and a mastery over fire itself.
----
* BlackMage: Two of Blacksmith's three active abilities deal magic damage, and the other boosts the damage output of his teammates.
* DualWielding: Two hammers.
* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Ogre Magi.
* KungFuWizard: Blacksmith is a melee Intelligence hero, and has enough durability to take hits and retaliate accordingly.
* LargeHam: OH YES!
* MythologyGag: The Ogre Blacksmith Alt Avatar calls back to Blacksmith's original incarnation, Ogre Magi in [=DotA=].
* PlayingWithFire: Two of Blacksmith's skills (''Fireball'' and ''Flaming Hammer'') deal with fire and fire magic.
* RandomNumberGod: Blacksmith's ultimate, ''Chaotic Flames'', gives him a chance of "multicasting" his spells and item actives, essentially casting the same spell in rapid succession for little to no increase in mana cost (depending on the specific spell). Given enough luck, Blacksmith can nuke down frail heroes with a 4x ''Fireball'' or buff his entire team with a single ''Frenzy''.
* SimpleYetAwesome: A simple, yet effective moveset combined with huge base HP and high armor makes him very newbie-friendly.
* SpamAttack: ''Chaotic Flames'' in a nutshell. Even discounting it, Blacksmith's ''Fireball'' only has a cooldown of 6 seconds, letting him belt out a constant barrage of nukes.
* SquishyWizard: Downplayed. Blacksmith has high innate durability and good Strength growth comparable to many Strength heroes, as well as a HealingFactor that overall make him one of the tankiest heroes in the early game. Not so much in the late game though, where he is only slightly less squishy than most Intelligence supports since enemy cores are farmed while Blacksmith usually has to spend his meagre farm on utility instead of durability items.
* SuperToughness: Blacksmith boasts an obscene amount of base armor right from level 1 and is incredibly durable in the early game.

!!Blitz

--> '''Legion Agility'''

Among the Beast Tribes of Newerth a Great Race is held in the savannahs each year. The winner joins their Queen in the battle against the Hellbourne. Many types of warriors compete, some rely on strength, some stealth, and others use speed and cunning. The Grand Champion is the vulpinoid master of velocity - Blitz! Now the Hellbourne daemons must hide to survive, for they certainly cannot run!

!!Blood Hunter

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

Although the Hunters were members of the Beast Horde in its war against the humans, they always preferred the darkness to the light, and were won over to the Hellbourne with the promise of human blood. They are led by the traitor Blood Hunter, a swift and deadly warrior who feeds on the blood of his enemies and heals with horrifying speed.
----
* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Bloodseeker, like his name isn't any indication.
* InjuredVulnerability: If your hero's HP gets below ''Blood Sense'''s threshold, Blood Hunter can smell your blood and spot you in his map, wherever you go, and he gains a ridiculous speed boost for that. If he hadn't caught up to you in a vulnerable spot, then God help you if there's another hero with global presence in the enemy team that will take advantage of your low health thanks to Blood Hunter's satellite view, or your ganking plan is ruined because you were trying to gank while having low health just for the kill.
* SadisticChoice: Try to flee from him while under the effects of ''Hemorrhage'' and take damage the farther you go, or stay and let him rip you to shreds, which one would you choose?
* SensorCharacter: Enemy heroes below ''Blood Sense'''s threshold will be revealed through fog of war, ignored invisibility.
* SharkMan: Landshark Bloodhunter is, well, a shark with arms and legs.

!!Bombardier

--> '''Legion Intelligence'''

Brother of the famed evil scientist that became Dr. Repulsor, the Bombardier uses his wild mind to aid the Legion. Just a few years ago, the two brothers made amazing technical wonders together. But the Hellbourne arose and corrupted Repulsor, leaving the Bombardier with a fierce sense of vengeance. Bombardier, along with faithful assistant Twitch, uses his various inventions and dangerous toys to beat the Hellbourne back into hell so far that they will finally release their evil grip on his brother.

!!Bramble

--> '''Legion Strength'''

When the war spread from the northlands into the jungles of Newerth, both man and Deamon discovered why the natives call the land Death's Cradle. Creatures warped from the chaos of the past abide in these forbidden lands, where beasts are prey and plants are predator. Deep in these jungles, the Keeper found the eldest of the mantraps and fed it the blood of the corrupted - Deamons and the fallen. Filled with their dark power, Bramble now stalks her chosen meals across the battlefields, helping destroy the enemies of the Keeper...

'''Associated Tropes'''

* {{Expy}}: Basically [[Film/LittleShopOfHorrors Audrey II]] in the setting of Newerth.

!!Bubbles

--> '''Legion Intelligence'''

A powerful wizard once owned a pet turtle. Each day, the turtle watched and mimicked as the wizard practiced his spells. One day, the turtle fell into a magical pool and was transformed into more than a mere turtle. Now, centuries after his master died, Bubbles lives on, fighting the forces of evil.
----
* BlackMage: Bubbles' playstyle revolves around jumping right into the entire enemy team, causing as much chaos and dealing as much damage as possible before getting away unharmed.
* ConfusionFu: A good player can use ''Shell Surf'' to confuse the enemy about Bubbles' location - like throwing a shell and moving in the opposite direction, forcing the enemies to split up because Bubbles may or may not warp to it. And then Portal Key, a core item for Bubbles, further adds to this.
* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Puck.
* FashionableAsymmetry: Aquarius' chiton is draped over her left shoulder and doesn't cover her right one.
* FlashStep: His ''Shell Surf'' skill deals damage in a straight line and allows Bubbles to teleport himself in the middle of the orb's trajectory.
* FragileSpeedster: Bubbles is one of the most mobile and maneuverable heroes in the game; a player with quick reflexes can easily dodge otherwise lethal projectiles with ''Take Cover''. But with one of the worst Strength stats in the game, Bubbles can be easily taken down with one or two strong nukes if caught out of position, or become stranded if silenced in the middle of a combo.
* HotConsort: Noppamas Bubbles is the queen consort of her kingdom and has a great body.
* PowerNullifier: Enemies hit by ''Song of the Sea'' are silenced for a few seconds, rendering them easy prey for Bubbles' other skills and his teammates.
* SadisticChoice: When hit by ''Kelp Field'', you have a tough choice to make - stay in one spot and let the enemy blow you up with their [=AoE=] spells while taking heavy damage over time, or try to flee and be stunned? Either way, the end result is usually messy.
* SomeDexterityRequired: Bubbles requires extremely quick reflexes to make the most of its abilities, as players will have to juggle a minimum of five different abilities to be casted in a precise order and within a short period of time, and often as many as eight or nine, all while being ready to instantly change the combo order in case something goes awry (on top of all these abilities having between no to extremely short cast animations). Played properly and equipped with enough mobility items, Puck can jump onto the enemy with no warning, disable them with ''Song of the Sea'' and/or ''Kelp Field'', dodge all of their spells with ''Take Cover'', all the while jumping away with an ''Shell Surf''.
* SquishyWizard: While Bubbles can be extremely hard to pin down, being silenced or chain-stunned will usually result in an easy kill if caught while initiating.
* StatusInflictionAttack: ''Song of the Sea'' silences all enemies in its radius for a few seconds.
* SurprisinglySuddenDeath: Bubbles is a decent Codex user due to its high mobility; with Codex, it can jump onto enemies and unload roughly 1500 points of magical damage within a second. This also means that, when initiating a fight, Bubbles can instantly turn the engagement into a [=4v5=] by nuking down the squishiest enemy before getting out.
* TeleportSpam: Bubbles can teleport to the projectile fired by ''Shell Surf'', allowing for quick escapes or initiates, and almost always builds a Portal Key.

!!Bushwack

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

In the northeast reaches of the Rulian Marsh exist a tribe that have fought hard for a place to call their own. However there are those who leave the marsh, sometimes by choice, but most times by force. Bushwack is a hunter that has been living on his own for years. Ostracized from his tribe at a young age for tampering with the technology of an abandoned Dwarven village. Considered to be bad voodoo by the tribal elders, such interactions with the strange machinery was not only forbidden but punishable by exile. Bushwack pleaded with the elders saying that it is foolish to not use the power of one of their greatest foes, but his pleas fell on deaf ears. So he parted ways with his people in order to pursue his passions. Now he is one of the most feared hunters of the southern parts of Death's Cradle, using his troll cunning and dwarven ingenuity, to eliminate foes from great distances. Even though he works alone he is steadfast in the protection of his home and has aligned himself with the Helbourne who are also enemies of the Dwarves. Meeting the Electrician and Dr. Repulsor cemented his belief that the only way for his people to survive in these changing times is through harnessing technology, and leaving the voodoo behind.

'''Associated Tropes'''

* CaptainErsatz: Let's face it: in all but skin color and habitat, Bushwack and his people are {{VideoGame/Warcraft}} Trolls.

!!Calamity
--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''
----
* BirthmarkOfDestiny: Wynd was born with the lightning-shaped mark of the sky, which can be seen on her face and left thigh. According to her bio, it speaks of a great destiny for the one who bore it.
* HangingJudge: Rhadamanthus, formerly one of the Three Judges of All Hells, was imprisoned by the other two judges, Minos and Aeacus, when they became suspicious that she was more concerned with feeding her pet daemons the flesh and souls of the damned than dispensing justice.
* ModestRoyalty: Wynd, despite being a princess, does not wear any fancy regalia, instead opting for a simple bra and skirt. One of her quotes says:
-->''Sure I'm a princess. I just don't like to brag.''
* NobleFugitive: Wynd is a princess with no people over which to rule, having lost her people to the waves of daemons.
* {{Oculothorax}}: Rift Hunter Calamity's "dragon" is essentially just a floating eye with tentacles.
* ShoulderSizedDragon: Calamity's dragon is small enough to sit on her shoulders.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Both Wynd and Rhadamanthus wear outfits that expose their belly, arms, thighs and shoulders. Rhadamanthus also bares half of her buttocks, while Wynd covers hers up, instead choosing to show her cleavage and legs.
* WarriorPrince: Wynd is a princess of the plains who has decided to aid the Legion in driving the daemons back to the Scar.

!!The Chipper

--> '''Legion Intelligence'''

The elusive chiprel race has spent countless years avoiding conflict, but the Hellbourne are not a threat easily ignored. The Chipper has taken action, piloting an advanced tactical combat and acorn collection machine. Armed with missiles, tar dispensers, and deployable saw blades, The Chipper is ready for war.
----
* BadAssAdorable: Yep.
* BadassNormal: Just uses a killer steamwork mech in battle.
** [=HoN=] has one tip when the game is in the loading screen and displays hints and tips... and it says this:
-->'''"Fear the chiprel!"'''
* ChainsawGood: His Ultimate ''Sawblade Showdown''.
* MacrossMissileMassacre
* MixAndMatchCritters: A Chiprel

!!Chronos

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

The greatest inventors of the Human Legion dreamed of making an army of machine warriors to spare humans the bloody cost of war. Only one was ever created, for no one could ever find a way to quicken him. When the Hellbourne fed a stolen soul into its mechanical shell, they brought the Chronos to life and gained the benefit of this artificial monster's mastery over time itself.
----
* ArmorPiercingAttack: ''Chronofield'' only fails to affect units that are invulnerable, meaning that it doesn't give a whit that its victims were magic immune when Chronos casts it.
* CombatClairvoyance: ''Rewind'' allows him to dodge damage in the past after experiencing it. Therefore he can instantly heal back even the most damaging attacks unless they were lethal. This includes magical attacks, take note.
* DynamicEntry: Chronos' first ability, ''Time Leap'', allows him to teleport short distances, becoming invulnerable for the duration of the jump, and deals damage and slows enemies at the destination. This is usually followed up immediately by his ultimate, ''Chronofield''.
* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Faceless Void.
* FriendlyFireproof: Zig-zagged with ''Chronofield''. It will freeze both enemies and allies, but will not affect any units also belonging to Chronos himself, such as summons and illusions. Additionally, even though it will reveal invisible enemies, invisible allies will remain invisible despite not being able to move. However, the fact that it can disable allies can lead to frustrating situations where Chronos [[UnwantedAssistance gets his own team stuck in it while his enemies are free to pound on them,]] or [[NiceJobBreakingItHero stopping other heroes when they're doing more damage.]]
* MagikarpPower: Chronos has one of the weakest lane presences in the game, possessing only a blink and two passives with a low proc chance. Even once he hits level 6, the only threat he poses is locking down enemies in early teamfights or ganks, as he possesses very little damage output by himself without items. However, once he gets enough farm, he can jump into fights, lock down entire teams, bash them into oblivion, and dodge a sizable amount of damage from anybody left alive.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: As her lore indicates, Savage Mace Chronos is actually the Greek goddess Bia, but is not actually referred to by this name in-game.
* RandomNumberGod: ''Rewind'' can often become this, especially if you manage to dodge deadly nukes like Pyromancer's ''Blazing Strike'', Witch Slayer's ''Silver Bullet'', and so on. The same applies to ''Time Lock'' early on, before Chronos gets enough attack speed to proc it reliably and avert this trope.
* SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong: ''Rewind'' allows him to heal back 80% of the damage he'd taken during the last 2 seconds. This includes auto-attacks, spells, and pretty much anything that would otherwise subtract from his HP bar (minus some HP Removal abilities). Chronos can end up shrugging off massive damage nukes, although he still feels their secondary effects such as slows.

!!Circe

--> '''Hellbourne Intelligence'''

In ancient days it was the wanderers and adventurers who fell victim to the sorceress known as Circe the Deceiver, drawn to the island prison by her enchanted disguises of long-lost loved ones, missing sailors, even gods they worshipped and believed they had found. Circe's influence over Man has now lead her to the battlefield, aligned with the daemons to ensure the gods of Mankind would never regain their supreme power.
----
* EvilRedhead: Circe's default avatar is red-haired.
* NavelDeepNeckline: In Dewi Sri's artwork, she wears two rice plants which shows everything between her neck and her navel, though her in-game model covers her up with a strapless boobtube.
* SnakePeople: Dewi Sri has the upper half of a woman and the lower half of a snake, with six snake heads in place of a tail.

!!Corrupted Disciple

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

Having traded Sol's sacred flame for the potent and unholy energy of the Hellbourne, the Corrupted Disciple is now little more than a battery of black magic. He unleashes this fell sorcery in many forms, some to his benefit but all to the agony of those around him.
----
* CantCatchUp: While he is classified as a carry, Corrupted Disciple does not scale well into the late-game since all of his abilities are static (he can only ever steal a maximum of 260 damage), and his Agility growth is very pitiful meaning that it ends up quite low even at max level (meaning his DPS and armor are restricted).
* CounterAttack: ''Static Discharge'' causes any enemy using an ability at Corrupted Disciple to be shocked with a jolt of electricity, dealing damage and slowing.
* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Razor
* LightningBruiser: Due to the nature of his kit, which promotes staying alive as long as possible to take advantage of ''Corrupted Conduit'' and ''Overload'', many Corrupted Disciple players choose to focus on durability items instead of damage items to complement the damage stolen by ''Corrupted Conduit'' and movement speed from ''Static Discharge''.
* MechanicallyUnusualClass: Corrupted Disciple is so radically different from other Agility carries that he is often referred to as an anti-carry. His own damage output is mediocre on a good day, but he can seriously ruin any right-clicker's day (''especially'' Agility carries due to his armor shred). Rather than smashing teams apart with area-of-effect damage or picking them off one at a time, Corrupted Disciple's main role in a fight is to identify the most threatening enemy and take them out of commission as quickly as possible by tagging them with ''Corrupted Conduit'' and draining their power, letting ''Overload'' and ''Corrupted Conduit'''s auto-attacks do the rest.
* ShockAndAwe: All of Corrupted Disciple's abilities are related to electricity in some way.
* VampiricDraining: ''Corrupted Conduit'' steals damage from enemies and gives it to Corrupted Disciple.

!!Cthulhuphant

--> '''Hellbourne Strength'''

Lost beneath the depths of the darkest sea, a dead behemoth dreamt a nightmare of unfathomable evil. Infused by the primal energies of the earth, his dream took to reality as a living omen to insanity, trodding out of the ocean floor and onto land.

'''Associated Tropes'''

* DeflectorShields: His Hook 'em ability creates a shield that protects him after killing an enemy creep.
* {{Expy}}: Of [[Franchise/CthulhuMythos Cthulhu]].
* FoeTossingCharge: His Trample ability knocks back enemies as he charges forward, and units knock backed deal damage to other units they hit.
* OfficialFanSubmittedContent: His design was chosen from an art contest from Webcomic/CtrlAltDel.

!!Dampeer

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

In the darkest days of the war, when starvation stalked the land, it is said that some men turned to eating the flesh of the dead -- and then, the flesh of the living. Perhaps that is the origin of Dampeer, a monster who feeds on the lifeforce of his foes, spreading terror before his tattered wings, his pants the only remnants of his humanity.

!!The Dark Lady

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

Wielding twin, scythe-like blades, the she-reaper known as the Dark Lady has moved through the Legion's ranks like a shadow of death. For soldiers seeking to buck up their courage, she is a punch-line: "Careful you don't find the Dark Lady," they joke to their carousing friend. But even these jokes are accompanied by a shudder. Swift and cold and lethal as the frozen winds off the steps, black as the cloud-choked night, she is no laughing matter.

'''Associated tropes:'''

* DarknessEqualsDeath: What her ''Cover of Darkness'' will show upon teamfights.
* DualWielding: Twice of a BladeBelowTheShoulder, at each arm.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: ''Hachina'', the alternate avatar.
** KimonoFanservice
** PaperFanOfDoom: With a blade on each edge.

!!Deadwood

--> '''Hellbourne Strength'''

Born of the cruelly tainted lands of Newerth, Deadwood is the undead husk of the first Keeper of the Forest. All around him, living things wilt, and he has little hesitation to destroy trees or use them as weapons. Despite seeking the destruction of Newerth, he still commands the incredible strength and natural powers of a forest guardian, thus combining the cruelty of the Hellbourne with the powers that once belonged only to the Beast Horde.

!!Defiler

--> '''Hellbourne Intelligence'''

Enshrouded with shadows and the echoes of damned souls, the Defiler is a lover of decay and madness and agony. She draws strength from death around her, and can expel living, suffering shadows from her flesh. Wielding both deadly attacks and an unholy awe that strikes silence into her foes, she truly deserves her vile epithet: "Mistress of the Damned."
----
* BlackMage: All of her spells are offensive to some degree.
* DestroyerDeity: Kali the Destroyer is the Hindu goddess of death who seeks to show the daemons what divine slaughter looks like.
* EvilKnockoff: According to her bio, Chaos Realm Kali is a spirit of Chaos who embodies Kali and uses her power.
* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Death Prophet
* FanDisservice: Defiler's default avatar combines a low neckline and considerable bust with rotting flesh, a creepy face and unnatural movement.
* HandOrObjectUnderwear: Instead of clothing, Chaos Realm Kali simply covers her breasts with her lower pair of arms at all times, while Kali the Destroyer uses her huge skull necklace.
* HitAndRunTactics: Defiler is one of the best kiting heroes in the game thanks to ''Siphon Soul'' and ''Unholy Expulsion'' which slowly wear down enemies near her, and her build which consists of items like Ghost Marchers and Stormspirit.
* LifeDrain: ''Siphon Soul'' transfers health from the target(s) to Defiler. ''Unholy Expulsion'' spirits heal Defiler in proportion to the damage dealt when they return to her.
* LightningBruiser: For an Intelligence hero, she is surprisingly tanky with her high Strength growth and healing from ''Siphon Soul'' and ''Unholy Expulsion'', the former of which also boosts her movement speed.
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: Most of her avatars have more than one pair of arms.
* PercentDamageAttack: The healing dealt by ''Siphon Soul'' scales with the target's max HP.
* PowerNullifier: She can use ''Grave Silence'' to prevent enemies from using skills.
* SpamAttack: ''Wave of Death'' has an extremely short cooldown and is fairly cheap mana-wise. Early game it can be used both to farm and harass, late game it is a very good pushing tool, able to clear creep waves extremely quickly.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Kali the Destroyer and Chaos Realm Kali are technically not wearing any clothing above the waist.

!!Demented Shaman

--> '''Hellbourne Intelligence'''

No greater shame has the Beast Horde than the Demented Shaman: one of their holiest priests, an initiate into their deepest secrets and greatest lore, who betrayed his people and turned to join the Hellbourne. He is a force of corruption and outrage, draining the life of the land to heal those who would destroy it and defeat those who would defend it.
----
* ChainmailBikini: Battle Armor Athena wears a strapless metal bra, helmet, and greaves, in addition to a loincloth and buckler. This especially stands in contrast to Goddess Armor Athena (described to be her non-combat attire) who dresses much more modestly.
* CombatMedic: ''Healing Wave'' heals a number of friendly units near the target, and deals damage in an area around them.
* CombinationAttack: ''Storm Cloud'' is ridiculously good when partnered with right-click damage dealers. Demented Shaman can also combo with himself, as both of his offensive spells deal physical damage instead of magical damage.
* DamageIncreasingDebuff: ''Storm Cloud'' causes enemies in its area to constantly lose armor during the duration.
* DefogOfWar: ''Storm Cloud'' grants vision around the targeted point for 3 seconds. With its big [=AoE=] and long cast range it can be used to (somewhat) safely check Kongor's pit from afar or scout high ground, and the cooldown is low enough that it is usually okay to "waste" it.
* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Dazzle
* HerdHittingAttack: Inverted and played straight with ''Healing Wave''. Since each allied unit healed can inflict up to 140 Physical damage in an area around themselves when hit with the spell, the damage can be applied multiple times, meaning that if Demented Shaman and 8 friendly units are standing next to an enemy, that enemy can potentially take up to ''980 Physical damage from a single cast'' (1400 with the appropriate talent and further increased to ''1700'' with Aghanim's Scepter), before even factoring in ''Storm Cloud''. And since it's an [=AoE=] spell, this damage can potentially be applied to multiple enemies, every 4 seconds.
* LastChanceHitPoint: ''Unbreakable'' places a 5 second buff on an ally that heals them when they take damage that would be fatal.
* MagicKnight: His starting damage is quite high for a support hero, and all his spells deal Physical damage, meaning magic resistance or spell immunity don't protect against it. Properly geared, he can easily shred enemy armor down into negative levels and thus increases his overall damage. Combined with his great attack animation and high base damage, he's a viable mid hero and can even carry with the right team/items.
* NavelOutline: In her artwork (but not her in-game model), Winter Shaman's navel is clearly discernible under her form-fitting leotard.
* ParrotPetPosition: An owl sits on Battle Armor Athena and Goddess Armor Athena's shoulder.
* PinballProjectile: ''Healing Wave'' bounces off allies, healing them while dealing damage to nearby enemies.
* TheRedMage: Demented Shaman is both capable of keeping his allies and himself from dying, causing his foes to waste time in a fruitless endeavour, as well as delivering a huge damage output with ''Healing Wave'' and ''Storm Cloud'' when good positioning comes to play.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Demented Witch, Battle Armor Athena and Songkran Athena's outfits all expose a lot of skin, especially Songkran Athena (who wears just a strapless bikini top and very short skirt).
* {{Underboobs}}: Demented Witch's top leaves the lower third of her breasts exposed.

!!Devourer

--> '''Hellbourne Strength'''

Consuming and destroying all in its path, the corpulent, putrid Devourer exists only to feed. No pain can match the agony of its hunger, and so it shrugs off all attacks, spreading its rot and disease across the battlefield like doom itself.
----
* BetterToDieThanBeKilled: Devourer can use ''Decay'''s self-damage to kill himself, preventing the enemy team from getting gold and experience from his death.
* CastFromHitPoints: ''Decay'' damages Devourer himself as well.
* {{Cthulhumanoid}}: Keelhaul Devourer has a face full of tentacles.
* DifficultButAwesome: To make good use of Devourer, one must master ''Guttling Hook'', which newbies are liable to miss or snag on creeps instead. An experienced player, though, can catch his victim through gaps in creep waves or even the FogOfWar, dragging them into traps and thus being a valuable supporter.
* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Pudge
* GlassCannon: Despite his very high Strength (and appropriately huge raw HP), he is not very durable until late-game: he has almost no base armor, and ''Decay'' does a lot of damage to him while it's activated. This can be offset with enough kills/assists to get ''Cadaver Armor'' stacks, and smart item pickups; good choices include Behemoth's Heart or Ultor's Heavy Plate, both being efficient and having high synergy with his skills.
* LeadTheTarget: On top of ''Guttling Hook'' itself being this, good Devourer play requires adapting to his slow attack animation in order to get enough last-hits to buy what he needs. In general, playing Devourer well requires thinking ahead and in multiple directions in order to outsmart your opponents and overcome Devourer's limitations.
* LifeDrain: ''Devour'' heals Devourer for any damage done.
* MagicKnight: Though Devourer is a Strength hero, he has little use for his right-click attacks, but instead relies on the massive damage of ''Guttling Hook'', ''Decay'', and ''Devour'' to gank.
* PoisonousPerson: ''Decay'' releases a toxic, choking gas emanating from Devourer's putrid mass.
* ProjectileSpell: ''Guttling Hook'' will snag and drag the first unit it touches.
* SkillGateCharacter: Warding utterly destroys Devourer's attempts to gank. However, skilled Devourer players will adapt and throw more difficult hooks, leading to supports needing to adapt warding positions as well. This leads to an interesting level of progression from the newest players all the way to professionals, where Devourer players have to try to outthink their opponents, or be rendered [[JustForPun dead weight]].
* SurprisinglySuddenDeath: His modus operandi is to pull a single enemy into the FogOfWar away from friendlies, then disable and kill them in a matter of seconds.
* YouWillNotEvadeMe: ''Guttling Hook'' is based on ''Meat Hook'', the grand-daddy of all the other similar skills in other {{MOBA}}s, pulling enemies back to you from a long range.

!!Doctor Repulsor

--> '''Hellbourne Intelligence'''

The storied professor of archaelogy had never been content. The earth was full of artifacts; artifacts that held secrets to the prior lives of men. Science, psychology, sociology... the forgotten vices of man and the primal tenets of the Hellbourne, poured into the professor as he absorbed the forbidden knowledge and was consumed. Devoid of free will, he is now a slave to the power he once coveted.
----
* AchillesHeel: Due to his frailty and reliance on his ultimate to initiate (as well as most of his damage output coming from his spells), Doctor Repulsor can become very easy prey if he's silenced in the middle of a gank, or runs out of mana in the wrong place.
* DeathOfAThousandCuts: Each individual ''Electric Frenzy'' attack deals a pitiful amount of damage (comparable to damage-over-time spells), but it's possible to proc it ''on every right-click'' if you can cast a spell between each attack. Used properly, it can lay down a surprising amount of damage over a few seconds, comparable to many higher-tier damage nukes, and this isn't even counting the physical damage from the attacks or any additional magical damage from casting ''Magnetic Contraption'' and ''Ludicrous Speed''.
* DynamicEntry: ''Ludicrous Speed'' allows Doctor Repulsor to travel vast distances and initiate on heroes who aren't aware that he's in the area.
* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Storm Spirit. However, as of late, Repulsor differentiated himself with a new style.
* FragileSpeedster: He is one of the fastest and most mobile heroes in the game, capable of travelling over impassable terrain at will to initiate and escape ganks. On the other hand, Doctor Repulsor is not a tanky hero with his low Strength. If he can't zip out, he dies.
* GreatEscape: ''Ludicrous Speed'' makes Doctor Repulsor extremely hard to pin down without silences. A gank has to either keep him locked down while it finishes him off, or burn all his mana reserves out, not an easy feat when he's always building mana regeneration.
* HunterOfHisOwnKind: Doctor Repulsor is a [[FragileSpeedster squishy, high-mobility hero]] that specializes in hunting down other squishy, high-mobility heroes, as ''Ludicrous Speed'' lets him initiate on them from far outside their effective range and easily chase them down if they try to escape, while his other abilities let him hold the target in place and burst them down.
* InvulnerableAttack: ''Ludicrous Speed'' temporarily turns Doctor Repulsor invulnerable when he's zipping.
* MagikarpPower: Doctor Repulsor starts the game as a ranged hero with moderate right-click damage and a nuke that is essentially melee-ranged, and is very vulnerable to enemy supports ganking the mid lane until he hits level 6. Without many items he won't do much in a teamfight besides flying short distances and throwing out mildly annoying but not very strong ''Electric Frenzy'' right-clicks and the occasional ''Opposite Charges''. That said, once he gets 2 big items (usually Icon of the Goddess and Hellflower), his extreme mobility allows him to deprive the enemy of their jungle, easily eat supports and compete with other carries by his ability to engage/disengage at will and outplay them in general (zipping away when the other team pops their Shrunken Heads or ultimates, or quickly picking someone off before they have a chance to get their skills off).
* SomeDexterityRequired: While simply using ''Ludicrous Speed'' to initiate and then hitting the target with an ''Electric Frenzy'' attack can be relatively straightforward, it takes careful management of your spells and split-second timing in order to make the most of your attacks, since you want to attack after casting a spell and you never want to cast two spells without an attack inbetween.
* SpamAttack: Doctor Repulsor's playstyle revolves around spamming the very cheap ''Magnetic Contraption'' and zapping around the battlefield with ''Ludicrous Speed'' as frequently as possible to take advantage of ''Electric Frenzy''.
* SpellBlade: ''Electric Frenzy'' causes Doctor Repulsor to deal bonus magic damage on the next auto-attack he uses after casting a spell. While each individual attack doesn't do much, ''Magnetic Contraption'' has an extremely low cooldown (and ''Ludicrous Speed'' has none), meaning that with the right combo it's possible to drop upwards of a thousand magical damage on a target in the span of a few seconds.
* SquishyWizard: Doctor Repulsor's starting Strength and Strength growth are atrocious, meaning that he'll go down fast if caught out of position without mana.
* SuperSpeed: When using ''Ludicrous Speed'', Doctor Repulsor can move at a ludicrous 3500 speed.
* SurprisinglySuddenDeath: Once Doctor Repulsor gets at least Icon of the Goddess and Hellflower, most supports become no more than food to feed him. He can simply jump in from the fog with ''Ludicrous Speed'', use Hellflower to make his prey hapless, then use his combo and the support in question is more than likely already dead.
* YouWillNotEvadeMe: Downplayed with ''Opposite Charges'': while it does pull the target towards Doctor Repulsor's position, the cast range is quite short (so Doctor Repulsor has to be fairly near the target at the first place) and the distance in which the target is dragged is even shorter.

!!Draconis

--> '''Legion Agility'''

The ancient guardian arose, stirred from his centuries of slumber by the cries of help from its creator - the Worldtree. He slowly shook the treasure loose from his scales and took flight - The Demons would soon find that even they could burn in the flames of Draconis, the Great Wyrm.
----
* {{Dracolich}}: Dracolich Draconis is described as Draconis's "undead facelift".
* DraconicHumanoid: Dragoness looks much more humanoid than Draconis' male avatars, looking like a scaled human woman, with only her wings and lower limbs being fully draconic.
* NavelDeepNeckline: Dragoness' scales are arranged in such a way that shows the entirety of her cleavage and the middle of her stomach.
* OrganicBra: Dragoness technically isn't wearing clothing; her breasts are partially covered by her scales.

!!Drunken Master

--> '''Legion Strength'''

For the Drunken Master, there exists only a single cardinal rule: that booze shall flow, freely and indefinitely. At first apathetic to the Hellbourne threat, the Drunken Master lept to action when a wise sage explained to him that should the Hellbourne overrrun Newerth, there would be no more booze. Armed with expert combat techniques and fueled by questionable substances, the Drunken Master embodies that which is unpredictable and unyielding.

!!Electrician

--> '''Hellbourne Strength'''

The finest Legion spies learned mere months ago of a mad archaeologist whose unnatural thirst for knowledge led him into a forbidden pact with the Hellbourne. His discoveries have been used to forge Shocktroopers, men fused with Ancient technology, pulsing with violent energy. These horrifying hybrids bear a tank of liquid lightning upon their backs, and they wield its contents as both sword and shield.

!!Ellonia

--> '''Legion Intelligence'''

Those who hail from the great Frostfields of the north live by one rule: fight or die. But now, the Hellbourne forces are rapidly advancing towards their beloved homelands and demolishing everything in their path. The powerful ruler of those harsh lands knew her lands would be next and could not sit idly by while her kingdom fell. Thus, the only sorceress deserving of the name Frost Queen fights not to defend the Legion but to bring forth the full might of winter and banish the daemons back to the pit from which they crawled.
----
* NavelDeepNeckline: Black Ice Ellonia's dress has a very low-cut top extending to her belly.
* WinterRoyalLady: Ellonia is the Frost Queen, ruler of the great Forstfields of the north.

!!Emerald Warden

--> '''Legion Agility'''

From a lost scout's journal: This visage of a great horned beast, imposing in stature and ornately bejeweled, descends to us a representative of an unknown druidic sect of beasts. At his behest lesser creatures of the forest fall under command, and when his bow is raised a foe shall fall.
----
* GardenGarment: Topiary Warden's clothing seems to be made entirely of leaves.
* OurCentaursAreDifferent: Emerald Warden's avatars are basically centauroid, with the exception of Topiary Guardian and Dryad Warden.

!!Empath

--> '''Legion Intelligence'''

Tied to the lifeforce of all creatures that move across the lands of Newerth, the Empath has suffered greatly in the war against the daemons. Nevertheless, her gift -- and curse -- is a powerful asset for the Legion, for the Empath is able to call on her magic to heal allies, weaken foes, and even merge her essence with other heroes.
----
* ChainmailBikini: Emerald Paragon Empath wears what amounts to a metal bikini, pauldrons and greaves.
* EarthyBarefootCharacter: Gaia, a manifestation of the planet itself, goes in battle barefoot.
* GardenGarment: In the Legion jungle, Gaia assumes her grass form and covers her naughty bits with leaves. Nang Tani's entire outfit is made out of leaves.
* FlamingHair: Gaia's hair burns with fire in the Hellbourne jungle.
* MotherNature: Gaia is the mother of Newerth, the ethereal, intangible spirit of the world made flesh.
* MsFanservice: All right, um... nice G-String, Miss Empath?
* SexyBacklessOutfit: Gaia's top consists of two leaves or rocks (depending on where she stands) which covers her breasts and nothing else.

!!Engineer

--> '''Legion Agility'''

The Engineer is a man driven by more than mere eccentricity. Once a humble, hard-drinking builder in the Legion, he came to master all manner of machines. Wielding a blunderbuss of his own design and hoisting ale and a veritable armory on his back, he is a strange but impressive sight on the battlefield.

!!Fayde

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

A shadow cast by the evil in the hearts of Man and Beast alike, Fayde lurks in the dark places of Newerth. While her scythe-like claws are terrible enough, it is her ability to call forth new shadows of herself--or her foes--that is most awful of all.
----
* BlackBraAndPanties: Glorious Fayde strides into battle wearing black lingerie.
* ChainmailBikini: Red Mist Fayde wears what amounts to a metal microkini.
* TheGrimReaper: The Reaper of Hell's Keep looks the part of a scythe-wielding hooded figure, rules the shadows of the city, and at the height of her power she will seek to overshadow all of Newerth.
* IHaveNoSon: From her bio, Comtessa Raze was disowned by her family by pledging to fight for the Legion, since they "saw their blood was much too precious to waste upon a filthy battlefield".
* NavelDeepNeckline: Comtessa Raze's dress features a neckline that plunges to the upper third of her belly. Persephone's neckline plunges even deeper.
* ThongOfShielding: Fayde, Trophy Fayde, Glorious Fayde, Red Mist Fayde, Gypsy Fayde and Persephone all wear very narrow thongs which only cover the absolute minimum of their buttocks.

!!Flint Beastwood

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

For years, the Beasts told of a twisted man-thing that stalked them through the Rulian marshes, leaving a trial of corpses in his wake. The humans dubbed him "Flint Beastwood" -- playing on his flint-lock firearms and his residence in the Beasts' forests. Fast to draw, fast to kill, fast to laugh about the deed, Flint has now spread his carnage beyond the marshes to wherever he can find the Legion.
----
* AntiStructure: ''Explosive Flare'' deals damage to buildings.
* BoringButPractical: ''Dead Eye'' does nothing more than increase Flint Beastwood's range, which doesn't sound very exciting. However, since Flint's greatest strength lies in his basic attacks, this increased range becomes invaluable. At level 2, his range exceeds that of towers, enabling him to safely push very early in the game.
* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Sniper
* FinishingMove: ''Money Shot'''s excellent range, impressive power, and long casting time effectively make it this. It's best used to finish off fleeing enemies that would otherwise successfully make an escape. In low-level games, where many ganks often end with the victim running away with the last sliver of their health, ''Money Shot'' will easily secure the kill for Flint Beastwood.
* GunsAkimbo: Dual-wielding flint lock guns.
* HitAndRunTactics: Flint Beastwood is one of the best kiters in the game thanks to the extreme range from ''Dead Eye'' and two slows, combined with Frostburn and Frostwolf's Skull being two of his commonly built items.
* ImprobableAimingSkills: ''Money Shot'' can hit from a insane distance away, even people that he can't see naturally, as long as he has sighted them using wards or teammates. The bullet will even curve to hit the target, or even pull a complete 180 turn. It also gives TrueSight over the target while Flint Beastwood is aiming, meaning that ''he can still reliably hit a target after it goes invisible''. You don't get much more improbable than that.
* LongRangeFighter: Flint Beastwood has the longest attack range in the game with ''Dead Eye'', ''Explosive Flare'' can be cast from 1800 range (equal to daytime vision), and ''Money Shot'' has its absurd 4000 range. Flint also lacks escapes, is incredibly vulnerable and rarely invests in durability, so he's as good as food if the enemy can get close to him.
* MagikarpPower: Starts off incredibly weak, but once he gains enough agility, he hits very hard, shoots very fast, and has the longest range in the game, letting him mow down enemies before they can get close.
* MutualDisadvantage: Heroes with Portal Key hate Flint Beastwood as much as Flint hates them. A successful Blink initiation on Flint can result in an easy kill due to his squishiness and lack of escapes, but Flint's ''Explosive Flare'' and long-range attack mean that it's easier said than done.
* OurOrcsAreDifferent: They don't say about his species, but his design is decidedly Orc-ish. Flint has the savagery of the Tolkien Orc, but also has the intelligence of a Blizzard Orc.
* UnskilledButStrong: What he lacks in skill, he makes up for in firepower, and his entire skillset can be summed up as "things his gun does".

!!Flux

--> '''Legion Strength'''

The legionnaire spent years entrapped within the earth, tortured by his captors. Thrashed about by gravity itself, he became infused with its strength. Slowly he built himself a suit of the hardest metals known to man, tempering away for years as he honed its infernal machinery in secret. As he soldered the final plate onto himself, he emerged neither man nor machine, but a force of nature itself.

!!Forsaken Archer

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

Once a woodland huntress who captured the hearts of countless men, the Forsaken Archer was taken against her will and slain by a spurned suitor. As she lay dying she forged a terrible pact with the daemons who discovered her broken body. Now, rather than hearts it is souls she captures, wielding them as weapons. Atop the skeletal remains of a beast she once hunted, the forsaken archer rains terror upon any who stand in her path.
----
* AttractiveZombie: Outside of her pale skin and blue hair, Forsaken Archer doesn't look that different from how she used to in life, so she's still attractive as an undead.
* ChainmailBikini: Her default avatar wears a metal thong and bra which barely covers her breasts.
* FanDisservice: Her Forsaken Strider avatar, though scantily-clad, has dishevelled hair, a creepy face and zombie-like flesh, resembling a zombie that just stepped out of a fresh grave. Sinew also wears little, and is a green-skinned, hideous goblin.
* FanservicePack: Forsaken Archer's remodel gave her properly-groomed blue hair, a beautiful face, a new skin palette resembling that of a living person, and an even skimpier outfit.
* HorseOfADifferentColor: A sabre-toothed cat for her default, Sabre Tooth Archer, Forsaken Prowler avatars, a tiger for Siam Warrior Forsaken Archer, a lion for Mars, a wolf for Sinew and Clockwork Archer, a hippocamp for Forsaken Siren.
* NippleAndDimed: In place of a bra, her default avatar only "wears" a skull-like brooch, kept in place by her quiver harnesses, which covers her nipples.
* OrganicBra: Forsaken Siren has a bunch of scales in place of underwear.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Many of Forsaken Archer's avatars wear outfits that show a lot of skin.

!!Gauntlet

--> '''Hellbourne Strength'''

Nedd the ogre was captured by the Hellbourne when their war with the legion overran his home. The Hellbourne used their demonic magic to alter Nedd, fusing him with powerful weapons, and lobotomizing him to ensure complete obedience. Now little remains of the peaceful ogre he once was. He's an abomination, a living weapon, a tightly-reined destructive force: He is Gauntlet.

!!Gemini

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

While fire and ice are typically conflicting elements which negate each other, they are harnessed as one in Gemini. A powerful elemental creature bathed in frost and ember, Gemini confuses foes as contradiction incarnate. Few know - and yet fewer understand - Gemini's origins, but it has been rumored that he is actually a fusion of two separate entities.

!!Geomancer

--> '''Hellbourne Intelligence'''

As the murder, atrocity, and sin intensified during Man's Fall from Light, the primordial Geomancers began to stir deep beneath the surface of the Hivelands. They tunneled toward the suffering with scores of daemons crowding behind, anxious to harvest and feed. "Across the world, great ruptures arose, like sores upon the land. Those left to quiver in the darkness called them gates to Hell. And Hell, from them, emerged." Rithe the Geomancer burst through a sacrificial shrine and was the first to taste the flesh of Moon Queen's brood, and he was the last to return to the depths of the underworld when food and souls became scarce and the agony had quelled. For many years he feasted on the blood and pain of those who had been taken during the First Corruption. When Maliken Grimm, King of Newerth, fled into the wilderness and began his descent into madness, Rithe and the Geomancers stirred once again.

'''Associated Tropes'''

* {{Expy}}: Averted! Despite the same class name, he has nothing similar with VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' own Geomancer, Meepo.

!!Glacius

--> '''Hellbourne Intelligence'''

The legends of Frostfield speak of a mighty warrior in a frozen prison who would break free when Newerth needed him most. On the eve of the Hellbourne invasion, a man made more of cold than flesh emerged from the tundra. Wrapped in mist and armored in ice, the stranger claimed the name Glacius, but when he aligned himself with the Hellbourne daemons, he shattered what hope his people had left.
----
* BlackMage: Aside from his passive aura, all of Glacius's spells deal damage to enemies.
* DeathOrGloryAttack: ''Glacial Downpour'' is tremendously powerful, capable of dominating teamfights by itself; however, it's also a channeling spell, rendering the already-squishy Glacius completely defenseless for its duration. As a result, when ''Glacial Downpour'' is cast, it will generally either completely wreck the enemy team or get Glacius killed immediately.
* DifficultButAwesome: ''Glacial Downpour'' costs a lot of mana and requires impeccable positioning to be effective: because it's a channelled spell, it can easily be broken with a stun or silence, and since Glacius is so squishy it might continue to be a problem even after he gets Shrunken Head. However, it deals incredibly high damage and has good secondary effects as well, allowing it to absolutely wreck teamfights if pulled correctly.
* ExposedToTheElements: Female Glacius wears a cropped top and no pants, despite hailing from the tundra of Frostfield.
* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Crystal Maiden. As an old man.
* FieldPowerEffect: ''Chilling Presence'' boosts the mana regen of all allied heroes globally, and is doubled on Glacius (although it doesn't stack with percentage-based mana regen items). At max level, it effectively equals using an Arcane Boots on them every time it's off cooldown, globally, which allows all friendly heroes to cast their spells more frequently (particularly non-Intelligence heroes who have small mana pools and low mana-cost spells). Even with only one or two levels, it can give teammates an edge during laning since they'll almost always have enough mana to cast a spell when they need to, meaning they don't have to spend their starting gold on Mana Potions.
* GlassCannon: A well-positioned ''Glacial Downpour'', if left to channel for its full duration, might potentially wipe out the entire enemy team (or at least bring them down to critically low HP) - a remarkable feat for a starved hard support like Glacius. On the other hand, so much as sneeze on him and he's dead.
* HarmlessFreezing: While ''Ice Imprisonment'' does deal damage, it's mostly incidental next to the disable, which lets allied heroes wail on the helpless target.
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: Started as Hellbourne. Then becomes Legion. Then Hellbourne again for good.
* HostileWeather: Glacius's ultimate, ''Glacial Downpour'', creates an explosive hailstorm that damages and slows any enemies within a certain radius of him. While it's channeled and the explosions hit in random places, a total of ''100'' explosions happen over the course of the ability, and each individual explosion can be as powerful as ''Tundra Blast'', meaning that if left uninterrupted, almost anything caught within range will die if they don't run for cover.
* AnIcePerson: All of his abilities involve ice in some form.
* SexyBacklessOutfit: Snow Queen Shiva's outfit doesn't cover her back one bit.
* SquishyWizard: Glacius is notorious for being one of the easiest heroes in the game to kill because of his low Strength and Agility, both base and gain per level (meaning very little HP and armor), having no escape abilities, and his awful base 275 movement speed. It's very common to build Strength items on him just so that he doesn't (literally) melt in the first two seconds of a teamfight.

!!The Gladiator

--> '''Legion Strength'''

Although trial by combat was long ago outlawed in the Legion of Man, on the fringes of civilization there are several who still practice it. When the war between the Legion and the Hellbourne broke out The Gladiator ventured forth in search of worthy opponents, each crack of his mighty whip sounding the death knell for another daemon.
----
* AlphaStrike: Because of his extremely limited mana pool, Gladiator players must carefully decide when and where they'll cast their spells, since even a max level Gladiator will easily chew through at least half his mana pool casting only a handful of spells if he hasn't built any mana pool increasing items (as he will likely be building raw damage in order to splash physical damage on the enemy through ''Flagellation''). If the Gladiator decides to cast all three of his spells in a single teamfight (potentially dealing upwards of 900 area-of-effect magical damage on top of the stuns and disables, and before even factoring in ''Flagellation''), he'll spend upwards of 500 mana, rendering him unable to use even a TP Scroll afterward.
* CriticalHitClass: While the Gladiator has no natural ability to crit, ''Flagellation'' splashes all enemies in front of him with 100% cleave damage (meaning that it ignores armor). This means that smart Gladiator players will abuse this by building, Riftshards to inflict critical hits (and increase the chances of landing a crit if more than one is bought), an Assassin's Shroud to initiate (and to apply the bonus damage), and damage items to increase his raw attack power. A lucky crit that also procs ''Flagellation'' will deal a massive crit damage to all targets in an area, bypassing any armor that they may have and potentially resulting in a TotalPartyKill.
* DifficultButAwesome:
** Both ''Pitfall'' and ''Call to Arms'' have extremely long delays, so they're very hard to land. However, a good Gladiator can cast ''Showdown'' and ''Pitfall'' combos to lock down enemies, and even toss ''Call to Arms'' into the mix for a combo that will deal a massive amount of damage to a group of enemies before cleaving them in two with ''Flagellation''.
** ''Flagellation'' is a powerful area cleave, but is hard to bring off due to it only proccing once every few seconds (meaning that you'll have to refrain from attacking until just the right moment). However, properly used, a smart Gladiator player can use nearby creeps (and even enemy summons in a teamfight) to splash through the enemy's armor and hit the entire enemy team at once. This is lessened with how not many people realize that it's an auto-cast spell that was set on 'on' by default, thus technically they can turn it off when the spell is ready and then fire at will by hitting W on the main target.
** ''Showdown'' has more utility than preventing enemy Heroes from escaping. When cast on an allied Hero, it provides double the delay that it would for an enemy Hero, allowing them to either temporarily move to another part of the map to push or counter-push, or initiate on the enemy with a guaranteed method of return (provided that the Gladiator can time the return well). This means that a TP scroll can be used to go back to base to quickly heal up and then get back into the fight, an ally can TP to counter-push a tower and then return back to the front lines, or an ally can chase a fleeing enemy and finish them off and then return to safety.
* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Kunkka, except with Gladiator motifs instead of Naval motifs.
* HerdHittingAttack: ''Flagellation'' turns his main melee attack into this every once in awhile, giving him a damage buff and letting it cleave for ''full damage'' in a very wide radius. Build Riftshards and see as he murders the entire enemy team in one attack.
* LeadTheTarget: Both ''Pitfall'' and ''Call to Arms'' have to be manually aimed with fairly long delays.
* LongRangeFighter: In spite of being a melee Strength hero, the Gladiator is not recommended to directly manfight at close range. His real strength is to barrage his enemy with water geyser or ghost ships or manipulating their locations from afar, and only closing in just for one ''Flagellation'' strike, which can hit multiple enemies behind his intended target, it also has a wide range and when properly itemized, it can deal absurd damage against the enemies he just barraged from afar.
* MagicKnight: The Gladiator has a wide array of powerful magic spells and nukes, but he's also well known for being able to splash absurd amounts of physical damage across the enemy team as well, making him one of the few examples of a Magic Knight who remains strong in both categories throughout a match. His only real limitations are the difficulty of landing his nukes, his relatively low manfight potential and his small mana pool.
* TeleportInterdiction: ''Showdown'' can be used on enemies who are trying to flee, as they will be brought back to the X after up to 4 seconds no matter how far they've gone.

!!Gravekeeper

--> '''Hellbourne Intelligence'''

On the battlefields of Newerth, rich in the tainted blood of man, beast, and demon, an ancient evil grows. Consuming the flesh from the fallen he claws his way to the surface, his once dead eyes alive again with hunger and eager to consume the dead. Especially those created by his own undead hands...

!!Grinex

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

For many years, stories have been told in Newerth of a place where unimaginable creatures live in perpetual darkness known as the Great Rift. Many on Newerth have attempted to commune with this place of power and Valreia the Riftwalker is one of the few who is known to have succeeded. Since the Hellbourne enlisted her help in the war against the Legion, rifts have been opening in various parts of Newerth and a great creature has made its way through. Even in the darkness of the Great Rift, there's terror and this creature known only as Grinex is the embodiment of fear. Trapped in a strange new world, this evil power seeks the Riftwalker, as she represents his only chance to escape from this wretched land. Using the Great Rift's power should not be taken lightly and this mere human has grown arrogant. Her time grows short as Grinex approaches from the shadows!

!!Gunblade

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

All he had known, all he had loved-- killed by the wild beasts. He could hear his own screams echoing in his ears as he dropped to his knees and drew his blade. Driven by madness, he began to carve a cursed symbol into his own flesh. Pain was forgotten and only revenge filled his mind. Soon, the symbol was complete and, bathed in his own rage-filled blood, a bargain was struck. The warrior's wish would be granted. He would be given the power that he so desired and the opportunity to exact his revenge. The now-cursed warrior was given two hell-forged firearms and was reborn as Gunblade, Hell's Ranger. Once a Lawman, now the Sheriff of the Damned.

!!Hammerstorm

--> '''Legion Strength'''

Mighty and stoic, this famed warrior left behind the ruins of his home for a place in King Maliken's first Legion. From boyhood on, he has known nothing but battle, and his silent determination and deadly strength have earned him the epithet "Hammerstorm." Every blow of his hammer resounds like a death knell across the battlefield.
----
* ArmorPiercingAttack: Cleave damage is not actually reduced by armor, nor is it evadable. While most cleaves are too weak for this to have much practical effect, ''Mighty Swing'' deals half of Hammerstorm's damage, enough that often his cleave is more damaging than the main attack.
* AwesomeEgo: {{Invoked}} in his tool tips and texts, which boasts on how awesome he is, and heck, his tooltip in Galvanize begins with: "Everyone is a loser when compared to Hammerstorm."
* BoisterousBruiser: Hammerstorm remains a jolly dude in spite his 'stoicness'
* DropTheHammer: [[MeaningfulName As if the name isn't a hint enough.]]
* DynamicEntry: Using Staff of the Master, Hammerstorm can throw his hammer to the ground and make it stay to that ground, it enables him to teleport right to the hammer's location by jumping right onto it.
* {{Expy}}: Of ''VideoGame/DefenseOfTheAncients''' Sven. Hammerstorm's skill set is basically Sven's with different names ([=AoE=] stun, Cleave, Speed/Armor Boost, Strength Boost)
* GlacierWaif: Locksmasher is a little girl wielding a hammer nearly as big as she is, and sharing Hammerstorm's MightyGlacier moveset.
* HerdHittingAttack: ''Mighty Swing'' is the single most powerful cleave in the game (barring the cooldown-limited ''Flagellation''), in both area of effect and percentage damage. And to note, once Hammerstorm learns this skill, it becomes his basic attack without any cooldowns whatsoever (like getting a free Runed Cleaver).
* HourOfPower: ''Brute Strength'' lasts for a limited duration after being activated, and can triple his base damage (also increasing his Strength), making him a prime candidate to build damage items on, along with some cheap attack speed items like Elder Parasite. Without ''Brute Strength'', his damage output is mediocre at best. Teamfighting with Hammerstorm essentially follows a simple formula: Blink onto the enemy, ''Hammer Throw'' as many as possible, pop the rest of his abilities along with Elder Parasite, and try to murder everyone within the next three seconds.
* InterfaceScrew: It's not exactly 'screwing', but if he activated ''Brute Strength'', everytime Hammerstorm hits something, the screen minorly shakes.
* LargeHam: He's not so much this (though carries some boisterousness), but his Hercules Alt Avatar... okay, it turns him into the mythological Hercules, but ''man'' does he ramp up the sound volume and shouting. '''FEEEEEL MY CLUBBB!!''' or '''LEGENDARY STRENGTH!!!'''. Yeah, may want to tone down the volume this way.
* MoneyMultiplier: ''Mighty Swing'' lets him clear most camps simply by killing the largest creep, rapidly gaining gold and experience at a time where other carries are still farming for items to help them farm faster. Later levels make clearing out stacked ancients a trivial task. ''Galvanize'' helps as well by increasing his movement speed so he can walk from camp to camp to clear them faster.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Helga Hammerstorm's outfit (a leather bikini, short skirt, boots, gloves and helmet) shows a lot of skin for a melee Strength hero.
* SuperStrength: Ahem, Brute Strength.

!!Hellbringer

--> '''Hellbourne Intelligence'''

During the war against the Beasts, many humans became experts in summoning daemons to fight alongside the Legion. Some became addicted to this unholy act, and even when the Hellbourne turned against their masters, continued to invoke the dark rituals. One such warlock is known only as Hellbringer, now a captain in the Hellbourne army and perhaps the most despised man on Newerth.
----
* MiniMecha: Battlebringer's equivalent of Malphas (called Zenith) is a mecha half again as tall as she is.
* SorcerousOverlord: The Jade Empress's desire for power and access to ancient secrets of the eastern sorcerers have guided her to studying the dark arts.

----
!!Accursed

--> '''Hellbourne Strength'''

Many have speculated as to what great, damned warrior now lives in torment within the burning armor that marches alongside the Hellbourne army. The Accursed, as he is known, screams in agony as he brings fiery devastation to his foes, but his actions seem driven more by a desire to find oblivion than by malice.
----
* AchillesHeel:
* AnimatedArmor: Implied.
* BlackSpeech[=/=]SpeakingSimlish
* DeathSeeker
* ImplacableMan:
* SpikesOfVillainy

!!Aluna

--> '''Legion Intelligence'''

!!Amun-Ra

--> '''Hellbourne Strength'''

----
* AutoRevive: [[IncendiaryExponent Pyroclasmic]] Rebirth.
* CastFromHitPoints
* MonochromaticEyes[=/=]ElementalEyeColors: Yellow with orange-to-red edges.
* PlayingWithFire
** SelfImmolation: Ignite.
*** [[MadeOfExplodium ...Then you explode, damaging nearby enemies]].
** KillItWithFire: And meteors.

!!Andromeda

--> '''Legion Agility'''

* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Vengeful Spirit.
* FlamingHair: [[FauxFlame White-to-purple-to-blue]].
* FullFrontalAssault: Andromeda strides into battle stark naked, as do her alt avatars Mandromeda, Alien Andromeda and Nebula.
* GlowingEyes: Blue ones.

!!Apex

--> '''Hellbourne Strength'''
----
* HealThyself: ''The Burning Ember'' performs a channel that heals Apex over time.

!!Arachna

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

!!Armadon

--> '''Legion Strength'''

* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Bristleback.

!!Artesia

--> '''Hellbourne Intelligence'''

!!Artillery

--> '''Legion Agility'''

--> '''Hellbourne Strength'''

Balphagore's gluttonous love of corpses draws him to wherever the Hellbourne's atrocities are at their worst. Armed with an array of dark powers, this daemon is not to be trifled with when hungry -- and Balphagore is always hungry.

!!Behemoth

--> '''Legion Strength'''

* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Earthshaker.

!!Berzerker

--> '''Legion Strength'''

--> '''Legion Intelligence'''

* DualWielding: Two hammers.
* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Ogre Magi.
* KungFuWizard: Blacksmith is a melee Intelligence hero, and has enough durability to take hits and retaliate accordingly.
* LargeHam: OH YES!

!!Blitz

--> '''Legion Agility'''

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

--> '''Legion Intelligence'''

!!Bramble

--> '''Legion Strength'''

!!Bubbles

--> '''Legion Intelligence'''

* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Puck.

!!Bushwack

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

!!Calamity
--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''
----
* BirthmarkOfDestiny: Wynd was born with the lightning-shaped mark of the sky, which can be seen on her face and left thigh.
-->''Sure I'm a princess. I just don't like to brag.''

--> '''Legion Intelligence'''

----
* BadAssAdorable: Yep.
* BadassNormal: Just uses a killer steamwork mech in battle.
** [=HoN=] has one tip when the game is in the loading screen and displays hints and tips... and it says this:
-->'''"Fear the chiprel!"'''
* ChainsawGood: His Ultimate ''Sawblade Showdown''.
* MacrossMissileMassacre

!!Chronos

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Faceless Void.

!!Circe

--> '''Hellbourne Intelligence'''

----
* EvilRedhead: Circe's default avatar is red-haired.

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Razor

--> '''Hellbourne Strength'''

* {{Expy}}: Of [[Franchise/CthulhuMythos Cthulhu]].
* FoeTossingCharge: His Trample ability knocks back enemies as he charges forward, and units knock backed deal damage to other units they hit.
* OfficialFanSubmittedContent: His design was chosen from an art contest from Webcomic/CtrlAltDel.

!!Dampeer

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

!!Deadwood

--> '''Hellbourne Strength'''

!!Defiler

--> '''Hellbourne Intelligence'''

* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Death Prophet

--> '''Hellbourne Intelligence'''

* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Dazzle

!!Devourer

--> '''Hellbourne Strength'''

* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Pudge

--> '''Hellbourne Intelligence'''

!!Draconis

--> '''Legion Agility'''

--> '''Legion Strength'''

--> '''Hellbourne Strength'''

!!Ellonia

--> '''Legion Intelligence'''

--> '''Legion Agility'''

!!Empath

--> '''Legion Intelligence'''

!!Engineer

--> '''Legion Agility'''

!!Fayde

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

* {{Expy}}: Of VideoGame/{{Defense of the Ancients}}' Sniper

!!Flux

--> '''Legion Strength'''

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

!!Gauntlet

--> '''Hellbourne Strength'''

!!Gemini

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

!!Geomancer

--> '''Hellbourne Intelligence'''

!!Glacius

--> '''Hellbourne Intelligence'''

--> '''Legion Strength'''

* DifficultButAwesome:

--> '''Hellbourne Intelligence'''

!!Grinex

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

!!Gunblade

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

--> '''Legion Strength'''

* SuperStrength: Ahem, Brute Strength.

!!Hellbringer

--> '''Hellbourne Intelligence'''

* LongRangeFighter: Flint Beastwood has the longest attack range in the game with ''Dead Eye'', ''Explosive Flare'' can be cast from 1800 range (equal to daytime vision), and ''Money Shot'' takes it UpToEleven with its absurd 4000 range.

'''Associated Tropes'''

\n'''Associated Tropes'''\n----
* BlackMage: Aside from his passive aura, all of Glacius's spells deal damage to enemies.

* HarmlessFreezing: While ''Ice Imprisonment'' does deal damage, it's mostly incidental next to the disable, which lets allied heroes wail on the helpless target.

to:

'''Associated Tropes'''

to:

\n'''Associated Tropes'''\n----
* AlphaStrike: Because of his extremely limited mana pool, Gladiator players must carefully decide when and where they'll cast their spells, since even a max level Gladiator will easily chew through at least half his mana pool casting only a handful of spells if he hasn't built any mana pool increasing items (as he will likely be building raw damage in order to splash physical damage on the enemy through ''Flagellation'').
* DifficultButAwesome:
This means that a TP scroll can be used to go back to base to quickly heal up and then get back into the fight, an ally can TP to counter-push a tower and then return back to the front lines, or an ally can chase a fleeing enemy and finish them off and then return to safety.

to:

* BareYourMidriff: Helga Hammerstorm only covers her torso with a leather bra.

* HyperspaceArsenal: He throws his hammer literally and it doesn't come back like a boomerang, he just whips another hammer out of nowhere to start attacking again.
* InterfaceScrew: It's not exactly 'screwing', but if he activated Brute Strength, everytime Hammerstorm hits something, the screen minorly shakes.

to:

* HyperspaceArsenal: He throws his GlacierWaif: Locksmasher is a little girl wielding a hammer literally nearly as big as she is, and sharing Hammerstorm's MightyGlacier moveset.
* HerdHittingAttack: ''Mighty Swing'' is the single most powerful cleave in the game (barring the cooldown-limited ''Flagellation''), in both area of effect and percentage damage. And to note, once Hammerstorm learns this skill,
it doesn't come back becomes his basic attack without any cooldowns whatsoever (like getting a free Runed Cleaver).
* HourOfPower: ''Brute Strength'' lasts for a limited duration after being activated, and can triple his base damage (also increasing his Strength), making him a prime candidate to build damage items on, along with some cheap attack speed items
like Elder Parasite. Without ''Brute Strength'', his damage output is mediocre at best. Teamfighting with Hammerstorm essentially follows a boomerang, he just whips another hammer out simple formula: Blink onto the enemy, ''Hammer Throw'' as many as possible, pop the rest of nowhere his abilities along with Elder Parasite, and try to start attacking again.
murder everyone within the next three seconds.
* InterfaceScrew: It's not exactly 'screwing', but if he activated Brute Strength, ''Brute Strength'', everytime Hammerstorm hits something, the screen minorly shakes.

Added DiffLines:

* MoneyMultiplier: ''Mighty Swing'' lets him clear most camps simply by killing the largest creep, rapidly gaining gold and experience at a time where other carries are still farming for items to help them farm faster. Later levels make clearing out stacked ancients a trivial task. ''Galvanize'' helps as well by increasing his movement speed so he can walk from camp to camp to clear them faster.

* CounterAttack: ''Static Discharge'' causes any enemy using an ability at Corrupted Disciple to be shocked with a jolt of electricity, dealing damage and slowing.

to:

His own damage output is mediocre on a good day, but he can seriously ruin any right-clicker's day (''especially'' Agility carries due to his armor shred). Rather than smashing teams apart with area-of-effect damage or picking them off one at a time, Corrupted Disciple's main role in a fight is to identify the most threatening enemy and take them out of commission as quickly as possible by tagging them with ''Corrupted Conduit'' and draining their power, letting ''Overload'' and ''Corrupted Conduit'''s auto-attacks do the rest.

to:

* HerdHittingAttack: Inverted and played straight with ''Healing Wave''. Since each allied unit healed can inflict up to 140 Physical damage in an area around themselves when hit with the spell, the damage can be applied multiple times, meaning that if Demented Shaman and 8 friendly units are standing next to an enemy, that enemy can potentially take up to ''980 Physical damage from a single cast'' (1400 with the appropriate talent and further increased to ''1700'' with Aghanim's Scepter), before even factoring in ''Storm Cloud''. An experienced player, though, can catch his victim through gaps in creep waves or even the FogOfWar, dragging them into traps and thus being a valuable supporter.

to:

* DynamicEntry: ''Ludicrous Speed'' allows Doctor Repulsor to travel vast distances and initiate on heroes who aren't aware that he's in the area.

to:

* StoneWall: Building into this is GlacierWaif: Despite being a good way of playing tanky Strength hero, Armadon has the alt avatar Arma Donna, a little girl who cosplays as him.

Good luck.

* StandardStatusEffects: ''Song of the Sea'' silences all enemies in its radius for a few seconds.

!!Armadon

--> '''Legion Strength'''

!!Artillery

--> '''Legion Agility'''

'''Associated tropes:'''

!!Dampeer

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

In the darkest days of the war, when starvation stalked the land, it is said that some men turned to eating the flesh of the dead -- and then, the flesh of the living. !!The Dark Lady

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

--> '''Hellbourne Strength'''

The finest Legion spies learned mere months ago of a mad archaeologist whose unnatural thirst for knowledge led him into a forbidden pact with the Hellbourne. !!Fayde

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

!!Flint Beastwood

--> '''Hellbourne Agility'''

For years, the Beasts told of a twisted man-thing that stalked them through the Rulian marshes, leaving a trial of corpses in his wake. Atop the skeletal remains of a beast she once hunted, the forsaken archer rains terror upon any who stand in her path.

!!Gauntlet

He's an abomination, a living weapon, a tightly-reined destructive force: He is Gauntlet.

!!Geomancer

--> '''Hellbourne Intelligence'''

Soon, the symbol was complete and, bathed in his own rage-filled blood, a bargain was struck. The warrior's wish would be granted. Once a Lawman, now the Sheriff of the Damned.

!!Hammerstorm

--> '''Legion Strength'''

Mighty and stoic, this famed warrior left behind the ruins of his home for a place in King Maliken's first Legion.
