Characters / Hayop Ka!: The Nimfa Dimaano Story

Go To

    Nimfa Dimaano

Nimfa Dimaano

Voiced by: Angelica Panganiban (Filipino), Reba Buhr (English)

The main protagonist. A seductive Somali cat who works as a perfume salescat in a large department store.
  • Furry Reminder: While having a text chat with Iñigo (whom she's annoyed with at the time), Nimfa's lashes her tail around like real cats do when they're annoyed about something.
  • Meaningful Name: "Nimfa" is close-sounding to "Ninfa", the Spanish derivative of "Nymph", as in, say…nymphomaniac.

    Roger

Roger

Voiced by: Robin Padilla (Filipino), Mick Wingert (English)

Nimfa's boyfriend, who works as a janitor. A muscular beagle mix.
  • Super-Strength: Roger's fights with other people exaggerates it to the point that it ends up looking like this, especially when he totals Iñigo's car with his bare paws when he thought he was inside it.

    Iñigo Villanueva

Iñigo Villanueva

Voiced by: Sam Milby (Filipino), Todd Haberkorn (English)

A millionaire Siberian husky. He crosses paths with Nimfa while shopping, leading to a torrid love triangle.
  • The Casanova: Iñigo has had a string of lovers as relayed by several characters with Marie and Nimfa being his latest conquests. This does not end well for him once the latter catches him with the other woman.
  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: Downplayed. He's affable and charming, and Nice to the Waiter, but he does start off as being complicit in antipoor practices, such as offering to help politicians with informal settler and union problems.
  • Gratuitous English: Wealthy Iñigo naturally resorts to this, largely an auditory symbol of his class (and/or breed, in this case).
  • Prince Charmless: In the climax, Iñigo's idea of stopping Nimfa and Marie from tearing each other apart is by telling them they could share him, disregarding the feelings of both women. Nimfa sends him flying out the window of his office for this.
  • Sharp-Dressed Man: As befitting his upper-class businessdog fursona (este, persona).

    Jerry

Jerry

Voiced by: Empoy Marquez (Filipino), Kyle McCarley (English)

A frog that works as a parking valet.
  • Maybe Ever After: Nimfa and Jerry seem to strike a friendship at the end of the film after she dumps Roger and later Iñigo throughout the course of the film. Whether it leads to something more is left ambiguous, but he does become something of an uncle to Nimfa's child.

    Jhemerlyn

Jhemerlyn

Voiced by: Arci Muñoz (Filipino), Tara Sands (English)

Nimfa's friend, a rabbit that works in the same mall as her.
  • Second Love: After Roger and Nimfa break up, she ends up dating Roger.

    Papa George

An ox.

    Manghuhula

Voiced by: Eugene Domingo (Filipino), Cissy Jones (English)

An elderly octopus fortune teller.

    Linda Demaano

Linda Demaano

Voiced by: Yeng Constantino (Filipino), Cassandra Lee Morris (English)

Nimfa's younger sister. Nimfa has been sending her money to support her education.
  • Teenage Pregnancy: She's only seventeen, and it's revealed she has already given birth to a child with Ramil when Nimfa returns home to visit her family in the country. The revelation causes her to lash out at her sister for hiding the fact that she hasn't been going to school and the money she'd been giving her was for nothing.

    Ramil

Ramil

A stallion that lives next door to the Demaano residence. He is very close with Linda.
