A mixed white/African-American Junior at Constance, and the estranged half-sister of Zoya. Julien is rich, popular, and a famous Instagram influencer. Her father, Davis, is a famous record producer and his access to celebrities gave her a platform for celebrity interviews at a very young age.

• Bald Head of Toughness: A downplayed example, as she's more of a Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak than an outright Tomboy, but in comparison to everyone else around her, this still gives her a noticeably tougher appearance. She often pairs her completely shaved head with more masculine clothing, like over-sized men's shirts and ties. This also offers a contrast to the previous series' Alpha Bitch, Blair Waldorf, who was an extreme Girly Girl.

• Lovable Alpha Bitch: Julien is the most popular girl at Constance Billiard and though she can scheming and be selfish, she's less antagonistic than her Girl Posse willing to act benevolent.

Zoya Lott

Played by: Whitney Peak

A lower middle class girl who's new to Constance. Half-sister of Julien. She is not a follower by any means. She wants to be a playwright, and is definitely afraid of being sucked into this new world and having her goals derailed. She and Nick live in Nick’s mother’s rent-controlled Upper West Side Prewar 5. It's lovely, but not fancy.

Otto "Obie" Bergman IV

Played by: Eli Brown

Julien's boyfriend, and the richest kid at school - a fact he hates. He rails against his Hilton-level real estate parents (Otto and Helena Bergman of the Bergman Property Group), and can often be found protesting his own parents' developments. A flip on the first time around, our richest boy lives in a Dumbo Loft.

Maximus “Max” Wolfe

Played by: Thomas Doherty

Max is a hedonistic, a gender non-conforming pansexual model/lothario/gadabout - whatever it is, he's done it. Max is up for anyone and anything at all times, which he's been able to get away with for quite some time.

• Really Gets Around: He lives for all manner of sexual experiences and conquests, including pursuing some of the staff at Constance.

Akeno “Aki” Menzies

Played by: Evan Mock

Youngest son of Australian right wing media mogul Roger Menzies. His mom Jodi (now divorced from Roger) is a high-powered corporate connector. Aki's been with Audrey basically since birth - just as long as he's been Obie's best friend. Aki and Jodi live in a Central Park South sky tower - literally higher than the clouds.

Audrey Hope

Played by: Emily Alyn Lind

Daughter of fast fashion designer Katherine Hope, and incredibly embarrassed over that fact. A beacon of classical taste, her perfect manners and French tips serve as a middle finger against her mom's Lululemon aesthetic. Audrey is a perfectionist and thus way too hard on herself. She lives in her mother’s Upper East side pied-a-terre, while her mother is most often in their house in Connecticut.

Monet de Haan

Played by: Savannah Lee Smith

Monet is Julien's best friend (at first) and functions as her PR person. She's one of the richest kids at Constance. Her parents, Greyson and Camille, are in big pharma. Pretty and powerful, what she says goes, and she does not like her status quo being challenged.

• Beta Bitch: Monet is Julien’s second-in-command. It’s revealed in the second season that she hates this and attempts to reign as the Alpha Bitch. It doesn’t go too well.
• Predatory Big Pharma: Monet is the richest and meanest girl in school (seeing how she tries to depose Julien for Alpha Bitch status), which is apparently reflected in the fact that her parents are Big Pharma execs.
• Rich Bitch: Monet is the richest female student at school and uses her social status to threaten teachers.

Luna La

Played by: Zión Moreno

Luna is close friends with Julien and Max. She serves as Julien's personal stylist. She doesn't follow trends, she creates them. Originally from Mexico city, her father is a famous Mexican director and her mother is a famous Mexican actress ( though it later turns out that first part is false). She lives alone in New York while her parents make movies around the world.

• The Social Expert: Luna seems to know a lot of things in social media, including trends and scandals. She uses this ability to learn about Obie's new girlfriend for Julien, and point out to Max his newfound feelings for both Audrey and Aki in a therapeutic manner.
• Statuesque Stunner: Luna quite beautiful and also much taller than all the other girls, especially noticeable when she's facing Julien (her actress Zión Moreno is a model who's 6 feet tall).

Kate Keller

Played by: Tavi Gevinson

A teacher at Constance, Kate is immediately put at odds with the power circle of friends by not playing by their rules. Hoping to gain and keep power and respect for herself, she decides to teach them a lesson by becoming St. Constance's next Gossip Girl.

• Alliterative Name: Kate Keller.
• Legacy Character: She, along with some of the other teachers, decides to take up the mantle of Gossip Girl in order to give the kids a taste of their own medicine.
