  • Art Evolution: His withered and unwithered appearances originally had the the first Rafamodels model during Season 1 and the first half of Season 2 but from "First Meeting" to "Trap 3" he had the second version and by "Hallucinations" he had the third version. By "Secret Weapon" however, he and the other withereds would have completely new models.

  • Born Unlucky: He is a victim to this in "The Unlucky Night".
  • A Day in the Limelight:
    • "The Unlucky Night" has him being the victim to various unlucky things.
    • "New Intrigue": has him trying to sneak around the pizzeria to get to the teleporter to help his friend escape only for his Surprisingly Sudden Death to happen after he activates it.
  • Didn't Think This Through: At the end of "New Intrigue" he gets attacked by Nightmare and then the teleporter activates to lead Nightmare and hid henchman to Toy Chica and the rest of the crew.
  • Killed Off for Real: Toy Bonnie dies in "The Battle for Survival".
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: He activates the teleporter only to get killed by Nightmare and then leading the Nightmares to the FNaF 2 locaction.

  • Action Hero: She becomes this in season 4 to combat Nightmare and his forces.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Her outer body gets badly damaged in season 3, and then she loses her arm, and most of her leg in season 4.
  • Appearance Angst: At first, she dislikes her new costume, deeming it ugly. She does eventually get over it.
  • Ascended Extra: Went from being a Recurring Extra to becoming the show's most important character.
  • Bearer of Bad News: She is the one to give Springtrap an update on how everything went down, and Springtrap has to update her on what happened in the future.
  • Big Good: She becomes this in Season 4.
  • Split Personality: She has a personality named Alter Chica.

  • Action Survivor: He is the only survivor of the Nightmare invasion.
  • Adaptational Comic Relief: He has become this in terms of the latest points, partly due to losing his mind over the years.
  • Being Evil Sucks: Technically, this is with him, while not the typical bit, it still works. If he resists being evil in season 3, he gets shocked.
  • Brought Down to Normal: Like Golden Freddy and the Puppet, he loses his powers in Season 4 as a result of Nightmare getting Complete Immortality.
  • Good All Along: It turned out that Springtrap actually wanted to help Golden Freddy but due to the device inside him this stopped him.
  • Sanity Slippage: He goes through this in the 100 year time skip.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Not that he wasn't badass already, but there's a reason he survived 100 years without any help.

The Nightmares

    In General 
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: Thanks to the artifact, the Nightmares are immune to all sorts of weapons, not even rocket launchers, and explosives cannot destroy them.
    Shadow Freddy / Nightmare 
  • Absurdly Sharp Blade: He wields one of these, able to cut through Toy Freddy's, Bonnie's and Golden Freddy's suits like they were nothing.
  • Belly Mouth: Like in the original, he has a mouth lined with sharp teeth at his belly.
  • Big Bad: He manipulated past events as Shadow Freddy, and moves into action as the true antagonist of the entire series, stealing the powers of the other animatronics.
  • Creating Life Is Unforeseen: While he was human, he was killed by Golden Freddy in an attempt to kill the Night Guard. His soul splits into four parts and one of these parts ends up in the Puppet who got the ability to give life to animatronics.
  • Hidden Villain: Throughout Seasons 2 and 3, he wasn't known to be the villain until "The Traitor".
  • Was Once a Man: He was originally human until he was killed by Golden Freddy.

  • You Have Failed Me: Though she won the fight with Springtrap in "The Nightmare is Real", Nightmare proceeds to kill her when Plushtrap tells him that she lost her eyesight during the fight.

  • Amnesia Episode: The New Nightguard is this, she loses her memory briefly. Eventually revealed to be faked.
  • A Day in the Limelight:
    • "New Night Guard 1-3" has her completely losing her memory briefly. Eventually revealed to be faked.
    • "First Meeting" has her meeting Foxy and how they love one another.
    • "Life of a Traitor" shows how she became evil and how she became a helper to Nightmare.
  • Ascended Extra: She was originally pretty unimportant in the first season, only having one actual relevant role in "Foxy Foxy".
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Herself.
  • Evil All Along: Revealed in "The Traitor" when Nightmare introduces her to be his faithful helper.
  • The Mole: It turns out the Mangle was secretly working for Nightmare.
  • Start of Darkness: "Life of a Traitor" shows how she became evil after being abused by the children and secretly helping Shadow Freddy.
  • Tragic Villain: Mangle never really wanted to be evil, and simply took up the role of Big Bad Duumvirate after she was repeatedly taken apart by the children.
  • Wounded Gazelle Gambit: Part of her ruse involved building a naked endoskeleton and programming it to attack her so it could divert suspicion off of her.
