Characters Debuting in F-Zero: Maximum Velocity

    Alexander O'Neil
Drives The Stingray.
  • Expy: of Pico.
  • Mighty Glacier: His vehicle has high top speed, a long boost which is mitigated by the low top boost speed, good body strength, the longest jump enabling it to take shortcuts other vehicles cannot take, and mediocre acceleration.

    Blitz Wagner
Drives the Silver Thunder.
  • Continuity Nod: This machine was designed by Dr. Stewart. It is the opposite of Dr. Stewart's Golden Fox.
  • Mighty Glacier: His vehicle has the highest normal top speed, a short boost, good body strength, poor turn speed, a poor jump, and poor acceleration.

    Jane B. Christie
Drives the J. B. Crystal.
  • Expy: Bears a bit of a resemblance to Samus Aran.
  • Jack of All Stats: This vehicle is a great beginner's vehicle. It has maximum traction which allows it to corner so well in boost mode that it can boost in areas that would be crazy to boost in with other vehicles, quickly dodge obstacles, and avoid being pushed around by opponents; a respectable top speed; a long boost; and average armor. The combination of its long boost and great traction is one key to quickly overtake several other vehicles that must slow down in twisty narrow roads that this vehicle can boost in.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Drives her vehicle in only a black top and green shorts that show her cleavage, midriff, and legs.
  • Retraux: Her vehicle is an expy of a Volkswagen Beetle.
  • Vague Age: Claims to be 20 years old.

    Kent Akechi
Drives the Falcon Mk-II.

    Kumiko
Drives the Fighting Comet.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: This vehicle has poor stats for everything except its boost, which is its lone high point and depends on the skill of the driver to maximize the boost.

    Lord Cyber
Drives the Dirty Joker (Sly Joker outside of Japan).
  • Blue Blood: He has blood ties to the nobility according to the manual.
  • Jack of All Stats: This vehicle is mostly an upgraded J.B. Crystal with a quirky boost. It has maximum traction which allows it to corner very well even in boost mode, quickly dodge obstacles, and avoid being pushed around by opponents; a respectable top speed; a quirky boost that has a very short active boost time but takes a long time for the boost speed to wear off; a weak jump; and average armor. Since this vehicle takes a long time to lose its speed from boosts, mines, and dash plates unless the player crashes or uses the brakes, the low boost time is very effectively extended if the player drives this vehicle to maximize the long time it takes to lose its speed.
  • Retraux: The Dirty Joker, particularly at the front, shows resemblance to the Lotus Seven or other Caterham track day cars that draw from the design. This is reflected in its stats, its not the fastest and its boost only lasts a short three seconds, but it has excellent turn balance which makes it very nimble in combination with blast turns.
  • Royal Blood: He has blood ties to royalty according to the manual.

    Megan
Drives the Hot Violet.
  • Informed Ability: She is rumored to be a Karate expert. Needless to say, this doesn't come up during the race.
  • Master of None: Her vehicle is meant to be a Jack of All Stats, but every advantage it has is more than negated by a disadvantage. For example, her high boost speed is mostly wasted by her boost mode's terrible acceleration, so the high boost speed is useless unless she has run over a dash plate making her poor boost acceleration a non-issue.

    Mickey Marcus
Drives the Fireball.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: He designed his own vehicle.
  • Gentleman and a Scholar: Women love him because he is a gentleman, and he designed his own vehicle.
  • Mighty Glacier: His vehicle has high top speed, a respectable boost which is not wasted by poor boost acceleration, good body strength, and mediocre acceleration.

    Nichi
Drives the Crazy Horse (Wind Walker outside of Japan)
  • Badass Native
  • Expy: His vehicle is an expy of Dr. Stewart's Golden Fox.
  • Fragile Speedster: The Crazy Horse has the greatest acceleration, the worst armor, greatest turn speed that allows this vehicle to corner very well with good skill, and the worst traction making avoiding sudden obstacles extremely difficult.

    Professor Yazoo Jr.
Drives the Jet Vermilion.
  • Difficult, but Awesome: He is the last unlockable racer for a reason. The Jet Vermillion's almost non-existent handling and pathetic acceleration can scare off most players, not to mention its terrible jumping capabilities make it really easy to crash out. If you can master it, however, you have the single fastest vehicle in the game, and its combination of high speed and ungodly powerful boost make it by far the most common vehicle to set world records with.
  • Expy: Of Dr. Stewart.
  • Mighty Glacier: He has the toughest armor, is the only vehicle to have four engines in this series, has the best boost speed, has a very high top speed, has good handling on ice, has the worst acceleration, has a poor jump, and has the worst turning speed off of ice.
