Mysterious Magical Girl Mari-chan

  • Put on a Bus: In recent years, the Crayon Shin-chan franchise replaced Mari-chan's franchise with the Moe-Pi series. Since then, the franchise barely appears on a few cameos on the mobile game.

  • Amnesia Loop: Due to Shila always revealing her true identity, which she needs to keep secret in order to pass her magical schooling, she is forced to wipe out everybody's memories of her in most of the episodes.
  • Failure Is the Only Option: No matter how much she integrates into her class, at the end of the episode she will have to erase the witnesses' memories about her due to Shila always outing her true identity, therefore having to be reintroduced as a new student again.
  • Magical Girl: She comes from a world of mages.
  • Secret Identity: She needs to keep her true identity secret as is one of the requirements she has in order to pass her class.

  • Beauty Is Bad: When she fights against Mari-chan she is shown wearing a skimpy sexy dress. This trait is one of the reasons why Shinnosuke and Hiroshi root for her sometimes.
  • Evil Redhead: She changes her hair from brown to purple as she transforms into her magical self
  • The Rival: To Mari-chan.
  • Villain Reveals the Secret: In every episode of the show, she manages to forcefully reveal Mari-chan's secret identity to her classroom, forcing the protagonist to erase their memories and start over again.

  • Magical Girl: She comes from a magical world.
  • Medium Awareness: In one of the episodes, she is shown to be aware that they're doing scenes in the bathroom in order to increase ratings, only to toss it aside when Hazuki asks what she meant by it.

Dr. Wienstien/Happiness Bunny

    Dr. Wienstien/Happiness Bunny
Voiced by: Jerry Jewell (English)
  • The Chew Toy: Literally! Poor Happiness Bunny, his life is a nightmare due to Nene and her mom using him for stress relief. He will get a win in every now and then by scaring Nene.
  • Dub Name Change: While the original Japanese dub nicknamed him "Usagi-chan", the Vitello/Phuuz dub named him "Dr. Wienstein" (alongside with the other stuffed bunnies treated like punching bags). The Funimation dub named him "Happiness Bunny".
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Believe it or not, there are stuffed bunny characters Nini owns that look very similar to the Happiness Bunny prior to his actual first appearance.
  • Percussive Therapy : He is well-known for getting beat up by Nene and her mom almost every time they're angry.

    Buriburizaemon (Ham Solo)

some caption text
  • Adaptational Villainy: In some specials, he represents the role of the villain.
  • Anti-Hero: Despite Shinnosuke claiming that Buriburizaemon is a hero, his personality is pretty antiheroic at best.
  • Berserk Button: He despises to be called a pig, despite being one himself.
  • Demoted to Extra: His role in the anime dropped significantly after the death of his seiyuu Kaneto Shiozawa in the year 2000, only using him for non-speaking cameos until 2016 when he got a new voice.
  • Dub Name Change: His first appearance in the Funimation Dub (Shin Wars) leads to him being referred to as Ham Solo for the rest of the show.
  • Dude, Where's My Reward?: He often demands to be given 100 million yens as a reward despite not doing anything to deserve it.
  • Faceā€“Heel Turn: He isn't afraid to switch to the other side if he's outnumbered by the enemy or facing a powerful foe, only to be rejected by the enemy and beaten by the heroes.
  • Ironic Name: In some countries, he is referred by the name of Brave Pig, a name he clearly isn't suitable for such a cowardly backstabbing pig.
  • The Load: In the specials featuring him as one of the main characters, he often fails in his tasks.
  • Nominal Hero: He's only mainly for the money.
  • Sealed Good in a Can: He is often summoned by Shinnosuke who frees him by using the magical maracas where he is sealed to help him while facing trouble. Unfortunately, he is more of a liability for Shinnosuke and his allies.
  • Small Name, Big Ego:
  • Was Once a Man: Parodied in one special where he claims that he was a handsome prince cursed to be a pig. When his curse is undone, looks exactly the same despite his claiming that he has regained his beauty.
